1Thus the Lord GOD showed me; and, behold, He formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.
1主耶和华指示我一件事：为王割菜之后，菜又发生；刚发生的时候，主造蝗虫。
2And if it had come to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land — so I said: O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech Thee; how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.
2蝗虫吃尽那地的青物，我就说：「主耶和华啊，求你赦免；因为 雅各 微弱，他怎能站立得住呢？」
3The LORD repented concerning this; 'It shall not be', saith the LORD.
3耶和华就后悔说：「这灾可以免了。」
4Thus the Lord GOD showed me; and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the land.
4主耶和华又指示我一件事：他命火来惩罚 以色列 ，火就吞灭深渊，险些将地烧灭。
5Then said I: O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech Thee; how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.
5我就说：「主耶和华啊，求你止息；因为 雅各 微弱，他怎能站立得住呢？」
6The LORD repented concerning this; 'This also shall not be', saith the Lord GOD.
6耶和华就后悔说：「这灾也可免了。」
7Thus He showed me; and, behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in His hand.
7他又指示我一件事：有一道墙是按准绳建筑的，主手拿准绳站在其上。
8And the LORD said unto me: 'Amos, what seest thou?' And I said: 'A plumbline.' Then said the Lord: Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of My people Israel; I will not again pardon them any more;
8耶和华对我说：「 阿摩司 啊，你看见什么？」我说：「看见准绳。」主说：「我要吊起准绳在我民 以色列 中，我必不再宽恕他们。
9And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
9以撒 的邱坛必然凄凉； 以色列 的圣所必然荒废。我必兴起，用刀攻击 耶罗波安 的家。」
10Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying: 'Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is not able to bear all his words.
10伯特利 的祭司 亚玛谢 打发人到 以色列 王 耶罗波安 那里，说：「 阿摩司 在 以色列 家中图谋背叛你；他所说的一切话，这国担当不起；
11For thus Amos saith: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.'
11因为 阿摩司 如此说：『 耶罗波安 必被刀杀； 以色列 民定被掳去离开本地。』」
12Also Amaziah said unto Amos: 'O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there;
12亚玛谢 又对 阿摩司 说：「你这先见哪，要逃往 犹大 地去，在那里糊口，在那里说预言，
13but prophesy not again any more at Beth-el, for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a royal house.'
13却不要在 伯特利 再说预言；因为这里有王的圣所，有王的宫殿。」
14Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah: 'I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdman, and a dresser of sycamore-trees;
14阿摩司 对 亚玛谢 说：「我原不是先知，也不是先知的门徒。我是牧人，又是修理桑树的。
15and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said unto me: Go, prophesy unto My people Israel.
15耶和华选召我，使我不跟从羊群，对我说：『你去向我民 以色列 说预言。』
16Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest: Prophesy not against Israel, and preach not against the house of Isaac;
16亚玛谢 啊，现在你要听耶和华的话。你说：『不要向 以色列 说预言，也不要向 以撒 家滴下 预言 。』
17Therefore thus saith the LORD: Thy wife shall be a harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou thyself shalt die in an unclean land, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.'
17所以耶和华如此说：『你的妻子必在城中作妓女；你的儿女必倒在刀下。你的地必有人用绳子量了分取；你自己必死在污秽之地。 以色列 民定被掳去离开本地。』」
