1最後に、私の兄弟たち、主にあって喜びなさい。同じことをあなたがたに書くのは、私には煩わしいことではなく、あなたがたを守ることになります。
1As to the rest, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not wearisome, but to you it is necessary.
2犬どもに気をつけなさい。悪い働きをする者どもに気をつけなさい。肉を切り刻む者どもに気をつけなさい。
2Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3聖霊によって神を礼拝し、キリスト・イエスにあって誇り、肉に頼らない私たちこそ、割礼を受けた者だからです。
3For we are the circumcision, who in spirit serve God; and glory in Christ Jesus, not having confidence in the flesh.
4もっとも、私自身には肉に頼る根拠もあります。ほかのだれかが肉に頼れると思うなら、私はなおさらです。
4Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other thinketh he may have confidence in the flesh, I more,
5私は生後八日目に割礼を受け、イスラエル民族に属し、ベニヤミン族の出身で、ヘブル人の中のヘブル人です。律法についてはファリサイ人、
5Being circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; according to the law, a Pharisee:
6熱心さについては教会を迫害する者、律法による義については非難されるところのない者でした。
6According to zeal, persecuting the church of God; according to the justice that is in the law, conversing without blame.
7しかし、私にとって益であったものを、私はキリストのために損失と数えるようになりました。
7But the things that were gain to me, the same I have counted loss for Christ.
8それどころか、私の主キリスト・イエスを知ることの比類ない尊さのゆえに、私はすべてのものを損失と数えています。キリストのためにすべてを失い、それらをくずと見なしています。それは、私がキリストを得て、
8Furthermore I count all things to be but loss for the excellent knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but as dung, that I may gain Christ:
9キリストのうちにある者と認められるためです。私が持つ義は、律法による自分自身の義ではなく、キリストへの信仰による義、すなわち、信仰に基づいて神から与えられる義です。
9And may be found in him, not having my justice, which is of the law, but that which is of the faith of Christ Jesus, which is of God, justice in faith:
10私はキリストと、その復活の力を知り、その苦しみにあずかり、キリストの死と同じ姿にされたいのです。
10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable to his death,
11そうして、何とかして死者の中からの復活に達したいと願っています。
11If by any means I may attain to the resurrection which is from the dead.
12私は、すでにそれを得たわけでも、すでに完全な者にされたわけでもありません。しかし、キリスト・イエスに捕らえられた私も、それを捕らえようとして、ひたすら追い求めています。
12Not as though I has already attained, or were already perfect; but I follow after, if I may by any means apprehend, wherein I am also apprehended by Christ Jesus.
13兄弟たち、私はまだ捕らえたとは考えていません。ただ一つ、後ろのものを忘れ、前のものに向かって身を伸ばし、
13Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended. But one thing I do: forgetting the things that are behind, and stretching forth myself to those that are before,
14キリスト・イエスにあって神から上へと召されて受ける賞を得るため、目標に向かって進んでいます。
14I press towards the mark, to the prize of the supernal vocation of God in Christ Jesus.
15ですから、成熟した者は皆、このように考えましょう。もし何かについて違う考えを持っているなら、そのことも神があなたがたに明らかにしてくださいます。
15Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded; and if in any thing you be otherwise minded, this also God will reveal to you.
16ただ、私たちがすでに到達したところに従い、同じ基準によって歩み、同じ思いを保ちましょう。
16Nevertheless whereunto we are come, that we be of the same mind, let us also continue in the same rule.
17兄弟たち、皆で私に倣う者となりなさい。また、私たちを模範として、このように歩んでいる人たちに目を留めなさい。
17Be ye followers of me, brethren, and observe them who walk so as you have our model.
18多くの人がキリストの十字架の敵として歩んでいるからです。私は彼らのことを何度もあなたがたに話し、今も涙を流しながら話しています。
18For many walk, of whom I have told you often (and now tell you weeping), that they are enemies of the cross of Christ;
19彼らの行き着く先は滅びであり、彼らの神は腹です。彼らは自分たちの恥を誇り、地上のことばかり考えています。
19Whose end is destruction; whose God is their belly; and whose glory is in their shame; who mind earthly things.
20しかし、私たちの国籍は天にあります。私たちはそこから救い主、主イエス・キリストが来られるのを待ち望んでいます。
20But our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ,
21キリストは、万物をご自分に従わせることのできる力によって、私たちの卑しい体を変え、ご自分の栄光の体と同じ姿にしてくださいます。
21Who will reform the body of our lowness, made like to the body of his glory, according to the operation whereby also he is able to subdue all things unto himself.
