1「さあ、主のもとに帰ろう。 主は私たちを引き裂かれたが、 癒してくださる。 主は私たちを傷つけられたが、 傷を包んでくださる。
1Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us to pieces, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bind up our wounds.
2二日の後、主は私たちを生き返らせ、 三日目に私たちを立ち上がらせてくださる。 私たちは主の前で生きる。
2After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His presence.
3主を知ろう。 主を知ることを熱心に追い求めよう。 日の出が確かなように、 主は必ず現れる。 主は雨のように私たちのもとに来られる。 地を潤す春の雨のように。」
3So let us know— let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the earth.
4「エフライムよ、私はあなたに何をしようか。 ユダよ、私はあなたに何をしようか。 あなたがたの慈しみは朝の雲、 たちまち消える露。
4What shall I do with you, O Ephraim ? What shall I do with you, O Judah? For your loyalty is like a morning mist, like the early dew that vanishes.
5それゆえ、私は預言者たちによって彼らを切り刻み、 私の口の言葉によって彼らを殺した。 あなたがたへの裁きは、稲妻のようにひらめく。
5Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth, and My judgments go forth like lightning.
6私が望むのは、いけにえではなく慈しみ、 全焼のささげ物よりも、神を知ること。
6For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.
7しかし彼らはアダムのように契約を破り、 そこで私に不実を働いた。
7But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant; there they were unfaithful to Me.
8ギルアデは不義を行う者たちの町であり、 血の跡で汚れている。
8Gilead is a city of evildoers, tracked with footprints of blood.
9盗賊の群れが人を待ち伏せるように、 祭司の一団はシェケムへ向かう道で人を殺す。 まことに、彼らは恥ずべきことを行う。
9Like raiders who lie in ambush, so does a band of priests; they murder on the way to Shechem; surely they have committed atrocities.
10イスラエルの家で、私は恐ろしいことを見た。 エフライムには淫行があり、 イスラエルは汚れている。
10In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing: Ephraim practices prostitution there, and Israel is defiled.
11私が自分の民の繁栄を回復する時、 ユダよ、あなたにも収穫の時が定められている。
11Also for you, O Judah, a harvest is appointed, when I restore My people from captivity.
