1イスラエルよ、諸国民のように、 歓喜してはならない。 あなたは自分の神に不実を働き、 どの脱穀場でも、娼婦の報酬を愛した。
1Do not rejoice, O Israel, with exultation like the nations, for you have played the harlot against your God; you have made love for hire on every threshing floor.
2脱穀場もぶどう搾り場も彼らを養わず、 新しいぶどう酒も彼女を裏切る。
2The threshing floor and winepress will not feed them, and the new wine will fail them.
3彼らは主の地に住み続けることができない。 エフライムはエジプトへ帰り、 アッシリアで汚れた食物を食べる。
3They will not remain in the land of the LORD; Ephraim will return to Egypt and eat unclean food in Assyria.
4彼らは主にぶどう酒を注ぎのささげ物としてささげず、 そのいけにえも主に喜ばれない。 彼らのいけにえは喪に服す者のパンのようになり、 それを食べる者は皆、汚れる。 彼らのパンは自分の空腹を満たすだけで、 主の家に入ることはない。
4They will not pour out wine offerings to the LORD, and their sacrifices will not please Him, but will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat will be defiled. For their bread will be for themselves; it will not enter the house of the LORD.
5例祭の日、 主の祭りの日に、 あなたがたは何をするのか。
5What will you do on the appointed day, on the day of the LORD’s feast?
6見よ、彼らが滅びから逃れても、 エジプトが彼らを集め、 メンフィスが彼らを葬る。 彼らの銀の宝物はいらくさのものとなり、 天幕にはいばらが生える。
6For even if they flee destruction, Egypt will gather them and Memphis will bury them. Their precious silver will be taken over by thistles, and thorns will overrun their tents.
7処罰の日が来た。 報いの日が来た。 イスラエルは預言者を愚か者とみなし、 霊を受けた者を狂人とみなす。 あなたの罪が多く、 敵意が激しいからだ。
7The days of punishment have come; the days of retribution have arrived— let Israel know it. The prophet is called a fool, and the inspired man insane, because of the greatness of your iniquity and hostility.
8預言者は私の神とともに、 エフライムを見張る。 しかし、そのすべての道には鳥を捕らえるわながあり、 神の家には敵意が満ちる。
8The prophet is Ephraim’s watchman, along with my God, yet the snare of the fowler lies on all his paths. Hostility is in the house of his God!
9彼らはギブアの日々のように、 深く堕落した。 主は彼らの不義を覚え、 その罪を罰される。
9They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah; He will remember their guilt; He will punish their sins.
10私は荒野のぶどうのようにイスラエルを見つけた。 初なりのいちじくを見るように、 あなたがたの父祖たちを見た。 しかし彼らはバアル・ペオルへ行き、 恥ずべきものに自分を献げ、 自分たちが愛したもののように忌まわしい者となった。
10I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the firstfruits of the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal-peor, and consecrated themselves to Shame; so they became as detestable as the thing they loved.
11エフライムの栄光は鳥のように飛び去る。 出産も、妊娠も、受胎もなくなる。
11Ephraim’s glory will fly away like a bird, with no birth, no pregnancy, and no conception.
12たとえ彼らが子どもを育てても、 私は一人も残らぬまで、彼らから子を奪う。 私が彼らから離れる時、まことに彼らには災いがある。
12Even if they raise their children, I will bereave them of each one. Yes, woe be to them when I turn away from them!
13私はエフライムを、 麗しい地に植えられたツロのように見た。 しかしエフライムは、自分の子どもたちを殺す者のもとへ連れ出す。
13I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a meadow. But Ephraim will bring out his children for slaughter.
14主よ、彼らに与えてください。 何をお与えになるのですか。 流産する胎と、乳の枯れた乳房を。
14Give them, O LORD— what will You give? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that dry up!
15「彼らの悪はすべてギルガルにある。 私はそこで彼らを憎んだ。 彼らの悪い行いのために、 私は彼らを私の家から追い出す。 私はもはや彼らを愛さない。 彼らの君主は皆、反逆者だ。
15All their evil appears at Gilgal, for there I hated them. I will drive them from My house for the wickedness of their deeds. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious.
16エフライムは打たれた。 その根は枯れ、 実を結ぶことはない。 たとえ彼らが子を産んでも、 私はその胎の愛しい子どもたちを殺す。」
16Ephraim is struck down; their root is withered; they cannot bear fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay the darlings of their wombs.
17私の神は彼らを退けられる。 彼らが神に聞き従わなかったからだ。 彼らは諸国民の間をさすらう者となる。
17My God will reject them because they have not obeyed Him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
