1A canticle of a psalm for David himself.
1הֹד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה כִּי־טֹ֑וב כִּ֖י לְעֹולָ֣ם חַסְדֹּֽו׃
2My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready: I will sing, and will give praise, with my glory.
2יֹ֭אמְרוּ גְּאוּלֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר גְּ֝אָלָ֗ם מִיַּד־צָֽר׃
3Arise, my glory; arise, psaltery and harp: I will arise in the morning early.
3וּֽמֵאֲרָצֹ֗ות קִ֫בְּצָ֥ם מִמִּזְרָ֥ח וּמִֽמַּעֲרָ֑ב מִצָּפֹ֥ון וּמִיָּֽם׃
4I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing unto thee among the populations.
4תָּע֣וּ בַ֭מִּדְבָּר בִּישִׁימֹ֣ון דָּ֑רֶךְ עִ֥יר מֹ֝ושָׁ֗ב לֹ֣א מָצָֽאוּ׃
5For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth even unto the clouds.
5רְעֵבִ֥ים גַּם־צְמֵאִ֑ים נַ֝פְשָׁ֗ם בָּהֶ֥ם תִּתְעַטָּֽף׃
6Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory over all the earth:
6וַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְ֭הוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם מִ֝מְּצֽוּקֹותֵיהֶ֗ם יַצִּילֵֽם׃
7That thy beloved may be delivered. Save with thy right hand and hear me.
7וַ֭יּֽ͏ַדְרִיכֵם בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יְשָׁרָ֑ה לָ֝לֶ֗כֶת אֶל־עִ֥יר מֹושָֽׁב׃
8God hath spoken in his holiness. I will rejoice, and I will divide Sichem and I will mete out the vale of tabernacles.
8יֹוד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה חַסְדֹּ֑ו וְ֝נִפְלְאֹותָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃
9Galaad is mine, and Manasses is mine and Ephraim the protection of my head. Juda is my king:
9כִּי־הִ֭שְׂבִּיעַ נֶ֣פֶשׁ שֹׁקֵקָ֑ה וְנֶ֥פֶשׁ רְ֝עֵבָה מִלֵּא־טֹֽוב׃
10Moab the pot of my hope. Over Edom I will stretch out my shoe: the aliens are become my friends.
10יֹ֭שְׁבֵי חֹ֣שֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָ֑וֶת אֲסִירֵ֖י עֳנִ֣י וּבַרְזֶֽל׃
11Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
11כִּֽי־הִמְר֥וּ אִמְרֵי־אֵ֑ל וַעֲצַ֖ת עֶלְיֹ֣ון נָאָֽצוּ׃
12Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our armies?
12וַיַּכְנַ֣ע בֶּעָמָ֣ל לִבָּ֑ם כָּ֝שְׁל֗וּ וְאֵ֣ין עֹזֵֽר׃
13O grant us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
13וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְ֭הוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם מִ֝מְּצֻֽקֹותֵיהֶ֗ם יֹושִׁיעֵֽם׃
14Through God we shall do mightily: and he will bring our enemies to nothing.
14יֹֽ֭וצִיאֵם מֵחֹ֣שֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָ֑וֶת וּמֹוסְרֹ֖ותֵיהֶ֣ם יְנַתֵּֽק׃

42יִרְא֣וּ יְשָׁרִ֣ים וְיִשְׂמָ֑חוּ וְכָל־עַ֝וְלָ֗ה קָ֣פְצָה פִּֽיהָ׃

43מִי־חָכָ֥ם וְיִשְׁמָר־אֵ֑לֶּה וְ֝יִתְבֹּֽונְנ֗וּ חַֽסְדֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
