1And when great multitudes stood about him, so that they trod one upon another, he began to say to his disciples: Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
1這時，有幾萬人聚集，甚至彼此踐踏。耶穌開講，先對門徒說：「你們要防備法利賽人的酵，就是假冒為善。
2For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed: nor hidden, that shall not be known.
2掩蓋的事沒有不露出來的；隱藏的事沒有不被人知道的。
3For whatsoever things you have spoken in darkness, shall be published in the light: and that which you have spoken in the ear in the chambers, shall be preached on the housetops.
3因此，你們在暗中所說的，將要在明處被人聽見；在內室附耳所說的，將要在房上被人宣揚。」
4And I say to you, my friends: Be not afraid of them who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
4「我的朋友，我對你們說，那殺身體以後不能再做甚麼的，不要怕他們。
5But I will shew you whom you shall fear: fear ye him, who after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell. Yea, I say to you, fear him.
5我要指示你們當怕的是誰：當怕那殺了以後又有權柄丟在地獄裏的。我實在告訴你們，正要怕他。
6Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
6五個麻雀不是賣二分銀子嗎？但在上帝面前，一個也不忘記；
7Yea, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows.
7就是你們的頭髮，也都被數過了。不要懼怕，你們比許多麻雀還貴重！」
8And I say to you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God.
8「我又告訴你們，凡在人面前認我的，人子在上帝的使者面前也必認他；
9But he that shall deny me before men, shall be denied before the angels of God.
9在人面前不認我的，人子在上帝的使者面前也必不認他。
10And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but to him that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven.
10凡說話干犯人子的，還可得赦免；惟獨褻瀆聖靈的，總不得赦免。
11And when they shall bring you into the synagogues, and to magistrates and powers, be not solicitous how or what you shall answer, or what you shall say;
11人帶你們到會堂，並官府和有權柄的人面前，不要思慮怎麼分訴，說甚麼話；
12For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what you must say.
12因為正在那時候，聖靈要指教你們當說的話。」
13And one of the multitude said to him: Master, speak to my brother that he divide the inheritance with me.
13眾人中有一個人對耶穌說：「夫子！請你吩咐我的兄長和我分開家業。」
14But he said to him: Man, who hath appointed me judge, or divider, over you?
14耶穌說：「你這個人！誰立我作你們斷事的官，給你們分家業呢？」
15And he said to them: Take heed and beware of all covetousness; for a man’s life doth not consist in the abundance of things which he possesseth.
15於是對眾人說：「你們要謹慎自守，免去一切的貪心，因為人的生命不在乎家道豐富。」
16And he spoke a similitude to them, saying: The land of a certain rich man brought forth plenty of fruits.
16就用比喻對他們說：「有一個財主田產豐盛；
17And he thought within himself, saying: What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
17自己心裏思想說：『我的出產沒有地方收藏，怎麼辦呢？』
18And he said: This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and will build greater; and into them will I gather all things that are grown to me, and my goods.
18又說：『我要這麼辦：要把我的倉房拆了，另蓋更大的，在那裏好收藏我一切的糧食和財物，
19And I will say to my soul: Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years take thy rest; eat, drink, make good cheer.
19然後要對我的靈魂說：靈魂哪，你有許多財物積存，可作多年的費用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！』
20But God said to him: Thou fool, this night do they require thy soul of thee: and whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?
20上帝卻對他說：『無知的人哪，今夜必要你的靈魂；你所預備的要歸誰呢？』
21So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich towards God.
21凡為自己積財，在上帝面前卻不富足的，也是這樣。」
22And he said to his disciples: Therefore I say to you, be not solicitous for your life, what you shall eat; nor for your body, what you shall put on.
22耶穌又對門徒說：「所以我告訴你們，不要為生命憂慮吃甚麼，為身體憂慮穿甚麼；
23The life is more than the meat, and the body is more than the raiment.
23因為生命勝於飲食，身體勝於衣裳。
24Consider the ravens, for they sow not, neither do they reap, neither have they storehouse nor barn, and God feedeth them. How much are you more valuable than they?
24你想烏鴉，也不種也不收，又沒有倉又沒有庫，上帝尚且養活牠。你們比飛鳥是何等地貴重呢！
25And which of you, by taking thought, can add to his stature one cubit?
25你們哪一個能用思慮使壽數多加一刻呢？
26If then ye be not able to do so much as the least thing, why are you solicitous for the rest?
26這最小的事，你們尚且不能做，為甚麼還憂慮其餘的事呢？
27Consider the lilies, how they grow: they labour not, neither do they spin. But I say to you, not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these.
27你想百合花怎麼長起來；它也不勞苦，也不紡線。然而我告訴你們，就是 所羅門 極榮華的時候，他所穿戴的，還不如這花一朵呢！
28Now if God clothe in this manner the grass that is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more you, O ye of little faith?
28你們這小信的人哪，野地裏的草今天還在，明天就丟在爐裏，上帝還給它這樣的妝飾，何況你們呢！
29And seek not you what you shall eat, or what you shall drink: and be not lifted up on high.
29你們不要求吃甚麼，喝甚麼，也不要掛心；
30For all these things do the nations of the world seek. But your Father knoweth that you have need of these things.
30這都是外邦人所求的。你們必須用這些東西，你們的父是知道的。
31But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.
31你們只要求他的國，這些東西就必加給你們了。
32Fear not, little flock, for it hath pleased your Father to give you a kingdom.
32你們這小群，不要懼怕，因為你們的父樂意把國賜給你們。
33Sell what you possess and give alms. Make to yourselves bags which grow not old, a treasure in heaven which faileth not: where no thief approacheth, nor moth corrupteth.
33你們要變賣所有的賙濟人，為自己預備永不壞的錢囊，用不盡的財寶在天上，就是賊不能近、蟲不能蛀的地方。
34For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
34因為，你們的財寶在哪裏，你們的心也在那裏。」
35Let your loins be girt, and lamps burning in your hands.
35「你們腰裏要束上帶，燈也要點着，
36And you yourselves like to men who wait for their lord, when he shall return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open to him immediately.
36自己好像 僕 人等候主人從婚姻的筵席上回來。他來到，叩門，就立刻給他開門。
37Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord when he cometh, shall find watching. Amen I say to you, that he will gird himself, and make them sit down to meat, and passing will minister unto them.
37主人來了，看見僕人警醒，那僕人就有福了。我實在告訴你們，主人必叫他們坐席，自己束上帶，進前伺候他們。
38And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
38或是二更天來，或是三更天來，看見僕人這樣，那僕人就有福了。
39But this know ye, that if the householder did know at what hour the thief would come, he would surely watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken open.
39家主若知道賊甚麼時候來，就必警醒，不容賊挖透房屋，這是你們所知道的。
40Be you then also ready: for at what hour you think not, the Son of man will come.
40你們也要預備；因為你們想不到的時候，人子就來了。」
41And Peter said to him: Lord, dost thou speak this parable to us, or likewise to all?
41彼得 說：「主啊，這比喻是為我們說的呢？還是為眾人呢？」
42And the Lord said: Who (thinkest thou) is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord setteth over his family, to give them their measure of wheat in due season?
42主說：「誰是那忠心有見識的管家，主人派他管理家裏的人，按時分糧給他們呢？
43Blessed is that servant, whom when his lord shall come, he shall find so doing.
43主人來到，看見僕人這樣行，那僕人就有福了。
44Verily I say to you, he will set him over all that he possesseth.
44我實在告訴你們，主人要派他管理一切所有的。
45But if that servant shall say in his heart: My lord is long a coming; and shall begin to strike the menservants and maidservants, and to eat and to drink and be drunk:
45那僕人若心裏說：『我的主人必來得遲』，就動手打僕人和使女，並且吃喝醉酒；
46The lord of that servant will come in the day that he hopeth not, and at the hour that he knoweth not, and shall separate him, and shall appoint him his portion with unbelievers.
46在他想不到的日子，不知道的時辰，那僕人的主人要來，重重地處治他，定他和不忠心的人同罪。
47And that servant who knew the will of his lord, and prepared not himself, and did not according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
47僕人知道主人的意思，卻不預備，又不順他的意思行，那僕人必多受責打；
48But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And unto whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required: and to whom they have committed much, of him they will demand the more.
48惟有那不知道的，做了當受責打的事，必少受責打；因為多給誰，就向誰多取；多託誰，就向誰多要。」
49I am come to cast fire on the earth; and what will I, but that it be kindled?
49「我來要把火丟在地上，倘若已經着起來，不也是我所願意的嗎？
50And I have a baptism wherewith I am to be baptized: and how am I straitened until it be accomplished?
50我有當受的洗還沒有成就，我是何等地迫切呢？
51Think ye, that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, no; but separation.
51你們以為我來，是叫地上太平嗎？我告訴你們，不是，乃是叫人紛爭。
52For there shall be from henceforth five in one house divided: three against two, and two against three.
52從今以後，一家五個人將要紛爭：三個人和兩個人相爭，兩個人和三個人相爭；
53The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against his father, the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother, the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
53父親和兒子相爭， 兒子和父親相爭； 母親和女兒相爭， 女兒和母親相爭； 婆婆和媳婦相爭， 媳婦和婆婆相爭。」
54And he said also to the multitudes: When you see a cloud rising from the west, presently you say: A shower is coming: and so it happeneth:
54耶穌又對眾人說：「你們看見西邊起了雲彩，就說：『要下一陣雨』；果然就有。
55And when ye see the south wind blow, you say: There will be heat: and it cometh to pass.
55起了南風，就說：『將要燥熱』；也就有了。
56You hypocrites, you know how to discern the face of the heaven and of the earth: but how is it that you do not discern this time?
56假冒為善的人哪，你們知道分辨天地的氣色，怎麼不知道分辨這時候呢？」
57And why even of yourselves, do you not judge that which is just?
57「你們又為何不自己審量甚麼是合理的呢？
58And when thou goest with thy adversary to the prince, whilst thou art in the way, endeavour to be delivered from him: lest perhaps he draw thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the exacter, and the exacter cast thee into prison.
58你同 告 你的對頭去見官，還在路上，務要盡力地和他了結；恐怕他拉你到官面前，官交付差役，差役把你下在監裏。
59I say to thee, thou shalt not go out thence, until thou pay the very last mite.
59我告訴你，若有半文錢沒有還清，你斷不能從那裏出來。」
