1The word that came to Jeremias from the Lord in the days of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, saying:
1Реч која дође Јеремији од Господа у време Јоакима, сина Јосијиног цара Јудиног, говорећи:
2Go to the house of the Rechabites: and speak to them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers of the treasures, and thou shalt give them wine to drink.
2Иди к дому синова Рихавових и говори с њима, те их доведи у дом Господњи, у коју клет, и подај им вино, нека пију.
3And I took Jezonias the son of Jeremias the son of Habsanias, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites.
3Тада узех Јазанију, сина Јеремије, сина Ховасијиног и браћу његову и све синове и сав дом синова Рихавових.
4And I brought them into the house of the Lord, to the treasure house of the sons of Hanan, the son of Jegedelias the man of God, which was by the treasure house of the princes, above the treasure of Maasias the son of Sellum, who was keeper of the entry.
4И доведох их у дом Господњи, у клет синова Анана сина Игдалијиног човека Божијег, која је до клети кнезовске, над клећу Масије сина Салумовог, вратара.
5And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups: and I said to them: Drink ye wine.
5И метнух пред синове дома Рихавовог крчаге пуне вина, и чаше, па им рекох: Пијте вино.
6And they answered: We will not drink wine: because Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying: You shall drink no wine, neither you, nor your children, for ever:
6А они рекоше: Нећемо пити вино, јер Јонадав, син Рихавов, отац наш забранио нам је рекавши: Не пијте вино, ни ви ни синови ваши до века;
7Neither shall ye build houses, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyards, nor have any: but you shall dwell in tents all your days, that you may live many days upon the face of the earth, in which you are strangers.
7и куће не градите, ни семена сејте, ни винограда садите нити га држите, него у шаторима живите свега века свог, да бисте дуго живели на земљи, где сте дошљаци.
8Therefore we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all things that he commanded us: so as to drink no wine all our days: neither we, nor our wives, nor our sons, nor our daughters:
8И послушасмо глас Јонадава, сина Рихавовог оца свог, у свему што нам заповеди да не пијемо вино свега века свог, ни ми ни наше жене, ни синови наши ни кћери наше,
9Nor to build houses to dwell in, nor to have vineyard, or field, or seed:
9ни да градимо кућа да у њима живимо, ни да имамо винограда ни њиве ни усева.
10But we have dwelt in tents, and have been obedient according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
10Него живимо у шаторима, и слушамо и чинимо све како нам је заповедио Јонадав, отац наш.
11But when Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon came up to our land, we said: Come, let us go into Jerusalem from the face of the army of the Chaldeans, and from the face of the army of Syria: and we have remained in Jerusalem.
11А кад дође Навуходоносор, цар вавилонски, у ову земљу, рекосмо: Хајде да отидемо у Јерусалим испред војске халдејске и војске сирске; и тако остасмо у Јерусалиму.
12And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, saying:
12Тада дође реч Господња Јеремији говорећи:
13Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Juda, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will you not receive instruction, to obey my words, saith the Lord?
13Овако вели Господ над војскама Бог Израиљев: Иди реци Јудејцима и Јерусалимљанима: Зар нећете да примите науке да слушате речи моје? Говори Господ.
14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, by which he commanded his sons not to drink wine, have prevailed: and they have drunk none to this day, because they have obeyed the commandment of their father: but I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, and you have not obeyed me.
14Извршују се речи Јонадава, сина Рихавовог, који забрани синовима својим да не пију вино, и не пију вино до данас, него слушају заповест оца свог; а ја вам говорих зарана једнако, а ви ме не послушасте.
15And I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early, and sending and saying: Return ye every man from his wicked way, and make your ways good: and follow not strange gods, nor worship them, and you shall dwell in the land, which I gave you and your fathers: and you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened to me.
15И слах к вама све слуге своје пророке зарана једнако говорећи: Вратите се сваки са свог пута злог, и поправите дела своја и не идите за другим боговима служећи им, пак ћете остати у земљи коју сам дао вама и оцима вашим, али не пригнусте уха свог нити ме послушасте.
16So the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have constantly kept the commandment of their father, which he commanded them: but this people hath not obeyed me.
16Да, синови Јонадава сина Рихавовог извршују заповест оца свог што им је заповедио, а тај народ не слуша мене.
17Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Behold I will bring upon Juda, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them, and they have not heard: I have called to them, and they have not answered me.
17Зато овако вели Господ Бог над војскама, Бог Израиљев: Ево, ја ћу пустити на Јуду и на све становнике јерусалимске све зло што изрекох за њих; јер им говорах, а они не послушаше, и звах их а они се не одазваше.
18And Jeremias said to the house of the Rechabites: Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and have kept all his precepts, and have done all that he commanded you:
18А породици Рихавовој рече Јеремија: Овако вели Господ над војскама Бог Израиљев: Што слушате заповест Јонадава оца свог и држите све заповести његове и чините све како вам је заповедио,
19Therefore thus saith the Lord of host the God of Israel: There shall not be wanting a man of the race of Jonadab the son of Rechab, standing before me for ever.
19зато овако вели Господ над војскама Бог Израиљев: Неће нестати Јонадаву, сину Рихавовом човека који би стајао преда мном до века.
