1The word that came to Jeremias from the Lord in the days of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, saying:
1当 犹大 王 约西亚 之子 约雅敬 的时候，耶和华的话临到 耶利米 说：
2Go to the house of the Rechabites: and speak to them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers of the treasures, and thou shalt give them wine to drink.
2「你去见 利甲 族的人，和他们说话，领他们进入耶和华殿的一间屋子，给他们酒喝。」
3And I took Jezonias the son of Jeremias the son of Habsanias, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites.
3我就将 哈巴洗尼雅 的孙子 雅利米雅 的儿子 雅撒尼亚 和他弟兄，并他众子，以及 利甲 全族的人，
4And I brought them into the house of the Lord, to the treasure house of the sons of Hanan, the son of Jegedelias the man of God, which was by the treasure house of the princes, above the treasure of Maasias the son of Sellum, who was keeper of the entry.
4领到耶和华的殿，进入神人 伊基大利 的儿子 哈难 众子的屋子。那屋子在首领的屋子旁边，在 沙龙 之子把门的 玛西雅 屋子以上。
5And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups: and I said to them: Drink ye wine.
5于是我在 利甲 族人面前设摆盛满酒的碗和杯，对他们说：「请你们喝酒。」
6And they answered: We will not drink wine: because Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying: You shall drink no wine, neither you, nor your children, for ever:
6他们却说：「我们不喝酒；因为我们先祖 利甲 的儿子 约拿达 曾吩咐我们说：『你们与你们的子孙永不可喝酒，
7Neither shall ye build houses, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyards, nor have any: but you shall dwell in tents all your days, that you may live many days upon the face of the earth, in which you are strangers.
7也不可盖房、撒种、栽种葡萄园，但一生的年日要住帐棚，使你们的日子在寄居之地得以延长。』
8Therefore we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all things that he commanded us: so as to drink no wine all our days: neither we, nor our wives, nor our sons, nor our daughters:
8凡我们先祖 利甲 的儿子 约拿达 所吩咐我们的话，我们都听从了。我们和我们的妻子儿女一生的年日都不喝酒，
9Nor to build houses to dwell in, nor to have vineyard, or field, or seed:
9也不盖房居住，也没有葡萄园、田地，和种子，
10But we have dwelt in tents, and have been obedient according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
10但住帐棚，听从我们先祖 约拿达 的话，照他所吩咐我们的去行。
11But when Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon came up to our land, we said: Come, let us go into Jerusalem from the face of the army of the Chaldeans, and from the face of the army of Syria: and we have remained in Jerusalem.
11巴比伦 王 尼布甲尼撒 上此地来，我们因怕 迦勒底 的军队和 亚兰 的军队，就说：『来吧，我们到 耶路撒冷 去。』这样，我们才住在 耶路撒冷 。」
12And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, saying:
12耶和华的话临到 耶利米 说：
13Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Juda, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will you not receive instruction, to obey my words, saith the Lord?
13「万军之耶和华— 以色列 的 神如此说：你去对 犹大 人和 耶路撒冷 的居民说，耶和华说：你们不受教训，不听从我的话吗？
14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, by which he commanded his sons not to drink wine, have prevailed: and they have drunk none to this day, because they have obeyed the commandment of their father: but I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, and you have not obeyed me.
14利甲 的儿子 约拿达 所吩咐他子孙不可喝酒的话，他们已经遵守，直到今日也不喝酒，因为他们听从先祖的吩咐。我从早起来警戒你们，你们却不听从我。
15And I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early, and sending and saying: Return ye every man from his wicked way, and make your ways good: and follow not strange gods, nor worship them, and you shall dwell in the land, which I gave you and your fathers: and you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened to me.
15我从早起来，差遣我的仆人众先知去，说：『你们各人当回头，离开恶道，改正行为，不随从事奉别神，就必住在我所赐给你们和你们列祖的地上。』只是你们没有听从我，也没有侧耳而听。
16So the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have constantly kept the commandment of their father, which he commanded them: but this people hath not obeyed me.
16利甲 的儿子 约拿达 的子孙能遵守先人所吩咐他们的命，这百姓却没有听从我！
17Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Behold I will bring upon Juda, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them, and they have not heard: I have called to them, and they have not answered me.
17因此，耶和华—万军之 神、 以色列 的 神如此说：我要使我所说的一切灾祸临到 犹大 人和 耶路撒冷 的一切居民。因为我对他们说话，他们没有听从；我呼唤他们，他们没有答应。」
18And Jeremias said to the house of the Rechabites: Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and have kept all his precepts, and have done all that he commanded you:
18耶利米 对 利甲 族的人说：「万军之耶和华— 以色列 的 神如此说：因你们听从你们先祖 约拿达 的吩咐，谨守他的一切诫命，照他所吩咐你们的去行，
19Therefore thus saith the Lord of host the God of Israel: There shall not be wanting a man of the race of Jonadab the son of Rechab, standing before me for ever.
19所以万军之耶和华— 以色列 的 神如此说： 利甲 的儿子 约拿达 必永不缺人侍立在我面前。」
