1And it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ismahel the son of Nathanias, the son of Elisama of the royal blood, and the nobles of the king, and ten men with him, came to Godolias the son of Ahicam into Masphath: and they ate bread there together in Masphath.
1А седмог месеца дође Исмаило, син Нетаније сина Елисаминог, царског рода, и кнезови цареви, десет људи с њим, ка Годолији сину Ахикамовом у Миспу, и једоше онде у Миспи с њим.
2And Ismahel the son of Nathanias arose, and the ten men that were with him, and they struck Godolias the son of Ahicam, the son of Saphan with the sword, and slew him whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
2Потом уста Исмаило, син Нетанијин и десет људи што беху с њим, и убише мачем Годолију, сина Ахикама сина Сафановог; тако погубише оног кога беше поставио цар вавилонски над земљом.
3Ismahel slew also all the Jews that were with Godolias in Masphath, and the Chaldeans that were found there, and the soldiers.
3И све Јудејце који беху с њим, с Годолијом, у Миспи, и Халдејце који се затекоше онде, војнике, поби Исмаило.
4And on the second day after he had killed Godolias, no man yet knowing it,
4А сутрадан, пошто уби Годолију, док још нико не дозна,
5There came some from Sichem, and from Silo, and from Samaria, fourscore men, with their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and mourning: and they had offerings and incense in their hand, to offer in the house of the Lord.
5дођоше људи из Сихема, из Силома и из Самарије, осамдесет људи, обријане браде и раздртих хаљина и испарани по телу, и имаху у рукама дар и кад, да принесу у дом Господњи.
6And Ismahel the son of Nathanias went forth from Masphath to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and when he had met them, he said to them: Come to Godolias, the son of Ahicam.
6Тада Исмаило, син Нетанијин, изиђе им из Миспе на сусрет и иђаше плачући, и сретавши се с њима рече им: Ходите ка Годолији, сину Ахикамовом.
7And when they were come to the midst of the city, Ismahel the son of Nathanias, slew them, and cast them into the midst of the pit, he and the men that were with him.
7А кад дођоше усред града, покла их Исмаило, син Нетанијин, с људима који беху с њим и баци их у јаму.
8But ten men were found among them, that said to Ismahel: Kill us not: for we have stores in the field, of wheat, and barley, and oil, and honey. And he forbore, and slew them not with their brethren.
8А међу њима се нађе десет људи који рекоше Исмаилу: Немој нас погубити, јер имамо сакривено благо у пољу, пшенице и јечма и уља и меда. И остави их, и не поби их с браћом њиховом.
9And the pit into which Ismahel cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he slew because of Godolias, is the same that king Asa made, for fear of Baasa the king of Israel: the same did Ismahel the son of Nathanias fill with them that were slain.
9А јама у коју побаца Исмаило сва телеса људи које поби уз Годолију беше она коју начини цар Аса бојећи се Васе цара Израиљевог; и Исмаило син Нетанијин напуни је побијених људи.
10Then Ismahel carried away captive all the remnant of the people that were in Masphath: the king’s daughters, and all the people that remained in Masphath: whom Nabuzardan the general of the army had committed to Godolias the son of Ahicam. And Ismahel the son of Nathanias took them, and he departed, to go over to the children of Ammon.
10И зароби Исмаило сав остатак народа што беше у Миспи, кћери цареве и сав народ што беше остао у Миспи, над којим беше поставио Невузардан заповедник стражарски Годолију, сина Ахикамовог; и заробивши их Исмаило, син Нетанијин, пође да пређе к синовима Амоновим.
11But Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the fighting men that were with him, heard of the evil that Ismahel the son of Nathanias had done.
11Али Јоанан, син Каријин, и све војводе што беху с њим чуше све зло што учини Исмаило син Нетанијин.
12And taking all the men, they went out to fight against Ismahel the son of Nathanias, and they found him by the great waters that are in Gabaon.
12Тада узеше све своје људе и пођоше да ударе на Исмаила, сина Нетанијиног, ког нађоше код велике воде у Гаваону.
13And when all the people that were with Ismahel, had seen Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the fighting men that were with him, they rejoiced.
13И сав народ што беше с Исмаилом кад виде Јоанана сина Каријиног и све војводе што беху с њим, обрадова се,
14And all the people whom Ismahel had taken, went back to Masphath: and they returned and went to Johanan the son of Caree.
14и сав народ што Исмаило зароби из Миспе обрну се и отиде к Јоанану, сину Каријином.
15But Ismahel the son of Nathanias fled with eight men, from the face of Johanan, and went to the children of Ammon.
15А Исмаило син Нетанијин побеже с осам људи од Јоанана, и отиде к синовима Амоновим.
16Then Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the soldiers that were with him, took all the remnant of the people whom they had recovered from Ismahel the son of Nathanias, from Masphath, after that he had slain Godolias the son of Ahicam: valiant men for war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gabaon:
16И тако Јоанан, син Каријин и све војводе што беху с њим узеше сав остатак народа што повратише од Исмаила, сина Нетанијиног, који убивши Годолију, сина Ахикамовог, беше их одвео из Миспе, војнике и жене и децу и дворане, и одведоше их из Гаваона;
17And they departed, and sat as sojourners in Chamaam, which is near Bethlehem: in order to go forward, and enter into Egypt,

18From the face of the Chaldeans: for they were afraid of them, because Ismahel the son of Nathanias had slain Godolias the son of Ahicam, whom the king of Babylon had made governor in the land of Juda.
18ради Халдејаца, јер их се бојаху, што Исмаило, син Нетанијин, уби Годолију, сина Ахикамовог, ког беше поставио цар вавилонски над земљом.
