1Now after these things in the reign of Artaxerxes king of the Persians, Esdras the son of Saraias, the son of Azarias, the son of Helcias,
1這事以後， 波斯 王 亞達薛西 年間，有個 以斯拉 ，他是 西萊雅 的兒子， 西萊雅 是 亞撒利雅 的兒子， 亞撒利雅 是 希勒家 的兒子，
2The son of Sellum, the son of Sadoc, the son of Achitob,
2希勒家 是 沙龍 的兒子， 沙龍 是 撒督 的兒子， 撒督 是 亞希突 的兒子，
3The son of Amarias, the son of Azarias, the son of Maraioth,
3亞希突 是 亞瑪利雅 的兒子， 亞瑪利雅 是 亞撒利雅 的兒子， 亞撒利雅 是 米拉約 的兒子，
4The son of Zarahias, the son of Ozi, the son of Bocci,

5The son of Abisue, the son of Phinees, the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest from the beginning.
5布基 是 亞比書 的兒子， 亞比書 是 非尼哈 的兒子， 非尼哈 是 以利亞撒 的兒子， 以利亞撒 是大祭司 亞倫 的兒子。
6This Esdras went up from Babylon, and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the Lord God had given to Israel: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the Lord his God upon him.
6這 以斯拉 從 巴比倫 上來，他是敏捷的文士，通達耶和華－ 以色列 上帝所賜 摩西 的律法書。王允准他一切所求的，是因耶和華－他上帝的手幫助他。
7And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the children of the priests, and of the children of the Levites, and of the singing men, and of the porters, and of the Nathinites to Jerusalem in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
7亞達薛西 王第七年， 以色列 人、祭司、 利未 人、歌唱的、守門的、尼提寧，有上 耶路撒冷 的。
8And they came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, in the seventh year of the king.
8王第七年五月， 以斯拉 到了 耶路撒冷 。
9For upon the first day of the first month he began to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem according to the good hand of his God upon him.
9正月初一日，他從 巴比倫 起程；因他上帝施恩的手幫助他，五月初一日就到了 耶路撒冷 。
10For Esdras had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do and to teach in Israel the commandments and judgment.
10以斯拉 定志考究遵行耶和華的律法，又將律例典章教訓 以色列 人。
11And this is the copy of the letter of the edict, which king Artaxerxes gave to Esdras the priest, the scribe instructed in the words and commandments of the Lord, and his ceremonies in Israel.
11祭司 以斯拉 是通達耶和華誡命和賜 以色列 之律例的文士。 亞達薛西 王賜給他們諭旨，上面寫着說：
12Artaxerxes king of kings to Esdras the priest, the most learned scribe of the law of the God of heaven, greeting.
12「諸王之王 亞達薛西 ，達於祭司 以斯拉 通達天上上帝律法大德的文士，云云。
13It is decreed by me, that all they of the people of Israel, and of the priests and of the Levites in my realm, that are minded to go into Jerusalem, should go with thee.
13住在我國中的 以色列 人、祭司、 利未 人，凡甘心上 耶路撒冷 去的，我降旨准他們與你同去。
14For thou art sent from before the king, and his seven counsellors, to visit Judea and Jerusalem according to the law of thy God, which is in thy hand.
14王與七個謀士既然差你去，照你手中上帝的律法書察問 猶大 和 耶路撒冷 的景況；
15And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose tabernacle is in Jerusalem.
15又帶金銀，就是王和謀士甘心獻給住 耶路撒冷 、 以色列 上帝的，
16And all the silver and gold that thou shalt find in all the province of Babylon, and that the people is willing to offer, and that the priests shall offer of their own accord to the house of their God, which is in Jerusalem,
16並帶你在 巴比倫 全省所得的金銀，和百姓、祭司樂意獻給 耶路撒冷 －他們上帝殿的禮物。
17Take freely, and buy diligently with this money, calves, rams, lambs, with the sacrifices and libations of them, and offer them upon the altar of the temple of your God, that is in Jerusalem.
17所以你當用這金銀，急速買公牛、公綿羊、綿羊羔，和同獻的素祭奠祭之物，獻在 耶路撒冷 －你們上帝殿的壇上。
18And if it seem good to thee, and to thy brethren to do any thing with the rest of the silver and gold, do it according to the will of your God.
18剩下的金銀，你和你的弟兄看着怎樣好，就怎樣用，總要遵着你們上帝的旨意。
19The vessels also, that are given thee for the sacrifice of the house of thy God, deliver thou in the sight of God in Jerusalem.
19所交給你上帝殿中使用的器皿，你要交在 耶路撒冷 上帝面前。
20And whatsoever more there shall be need of for the house of thy God, how much soever thou shalt have occasion to spend, it shall be given out of the treasury, and the king’s exchequer, and by me.
20你上帝殿裏若再有需用的經費，你可以從王的府庫裏支取。
21I Artaxerxes the king have ordered and decreed to all the keepers of the public chest, that are beyond the river, that whatsoever Esdras the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, you give it without delay,
21「我－ 亞達薛西 王又降旨與 河西 的一切庫官，說：『通達天上上帝律法的文士祭司 以斯拉 ，無論向你們要甚麼，你們要速速地備辦，
22Unto a hundred talents of silver, and unto a hundred cores of wheat, and unto a hundred bates of wine, and unto a hundred bates of oil, and salt without measure.
22就是銀子直到一百他連得，麥子一百柯珥，酒一百罷特，油一百罷特，鹽不計其數，也要給他。
23All that belongeth to the rites of the God of heaven, let it be given diligently in the house of the God of heaven: lest his wrath should be enkindled against the realm of the king, and of his sons.
23凡天上之上帝所吩咐的，當為天上上帝的殿詳細辦理。為何使忿怒臨到王和王眾子的國呢？
24We give you also to understand concerning all the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nathinites, and ministers of the house of this God, that you have no authority to impose toll or tribute, or custom upon them.
24我又曉諭你們，至於祭司、 利未 人、歌唱的、守門的，和尼提寧，並在上帝殿當差的人，不可叫他們進貢，交課，納稅。』
25And thou Esdras according to the wisdom of thy God, which is in thy hand, appoint judges and magistrates, that may judge all the people, that is beyond the river, that is, for them who know the law of thy God, yea and the ignorant teach ye freely.
25「 以斯拉 啊，要照着你上帝賜你的智慧，將所有明白你上帝律法的人立為士師、審判官，治理 河西 的百姓，使他們教訓一切不明白 上帝 律法的人。
26And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king diligently, judgment shall be executed upon him, either unto death, or unto banishment, or to the confiscation of goods, or at least to prison.
26凡不遵行你上帝律法和王命令的人就當速速定他的罪，或治死，或充軍，或抄家，或囚禁。」
27Blessed be the Lord the God of our fathers, who hath put this in the king’s heart, to glorify the house of the Lord, which is in Jerusalem,
27以斯拉 說：「耶和華－我們列祖的上帝是應當稱頌的！因他使王起這心意修飾 耶路撒冷 耶和華的殿，
28And hath inclined his mercy toward me before the king and his counsellors, and all the mighty princes of the king: and I being strengthened by the hand of the Lord my God, which was upon me, gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
28又在王和謀士，並大能的軍長面前施恩於我。因耶和華－我上帝的手幫助我，我就得以堅強，從 以色列 中招聚首領，與我一同上來。」
