1Now after these things in the reign of Artaxerxes king of the Persians, Esdras the son of Saraias, the son of Azarias, the son of Helcias,
1Ora, depois destas coisas, no reinado de Artaxerxes, rei da Pérsia, Esdras, filho de Seraías, filho de Azarias, filho de Hilquias,
2The son of Sellum, the son of Sadoc, the son of Achitob,
2filho de Salum, filho de Zadoque, filho de Aitube,
3The son of Amarias, the son of Azarias, the son of Maraioth,
3filho de Amarias, filho de Azarias, filho de Meraiote,
4The son of Zarahias, the son of Ozi, the son of Bocci,
4filho de Zeraías, filho de Uzi, filho de Buqui,
5The son of Abisue, the son of Phinees, the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest from the beginning.
5filho de Abisua, filho de Fineias, filho de Eleazar, filho de Arão, o sumo sacerdote —
6This Esdras went up from Babylon, and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the Lord God had given to Israel: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the Lord his God upon him.
6este Esdras subiu da Babilônia. Ele era um escriba habilidoso na lei de Moisés, que o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, tinha dado; e o rei lhe concedeu tudo o que pediu, segundo a mão do SENHOR, seu Deus, sobre ele.
7And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the children of the priests, and of the children of the Levites, and of the singing men, and of the porters, and of the Nathinites to Jerusalem in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
7Alguns dos filhos de Israel, incluindo alguns dos sacerdotes, dos levitas, dos cantores, dos porteiros e dos servos do templo, subiram a Jerusalém no sétimo ano do rei Artaxerxes.
8And they came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, in the seventh year of the king.
8Ele chegou a Jerusalém no quinto mês, que era no sétimo ano do rei.
9For upon the first day of the first month he began to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem according to the good hand of his God upon him.
9Pois no primeiro dia do primeiro mês ele começou a subir da Babilônia; e no primeiro dia do quinto mês ele chegou a Jerusalém, segundo a boa mão do seu Deus sobre ele.
10For Esdras had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do and to teach in Israel the commandments and judgment.
10Pois Esdras tinha disposto o seu coração para buscar a lei do SENHOR, para cumpri-la e para ensinar os estatutos e as ordenanças em Israel.
11And this is the copy of the letter of the edict, which king Artaxerxes gave to Esdras the priest, the scribe instructed in the words and commandments of the Lord, and his ceremonies in Israel.
11Ora, esta é a cópia da carta que o rei Artaxerxes deu ao sacerdote Esdras, o escriba, um escriba das palavras dos mandamentos do SENHOR e dos seus estatutos para Israel:
12Artaxerxes king of kings to Esdras the priest, the most learned scribe of the law of the God of heaven, greeting.
12Artaxerxes, rei dos reis, Ao sacerdote Esdras, escriba da lei do perfeito Deus dos céus. Agora,
13It is decreed by me, that all they of the people of Israel, and of the priests and of the Levites in my realm, that are minded to go into Jerusalem, should go with thee.
13eu decreto que todos aqueles do povo de Israel, e os seus sacerdotes e os levitas no meu reino, que de livre e espontânea vontade desejarem ir a Jerusalém, vão com você.
14For thou art sent from before the king, and his seven counsellors, to visit Judea and Jerusalem according to the law of thy God, which is in thy hand.
14Porque você foi enviado pelo rei e pelos seus sete conselheiros para inquirir a respeito de Judá e de Jerusalém, segundo a lei do seu Deus, que está na sua mão,
15And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose tabernacle is in Jerusalem.
15e para levar a prata e o ouro que o rei e os seus conselheiros ofereceram voluntariamente ao Deus de Israel, cuja habitação está em Jerusalém,
16And all the silver and gold that thou shalt find in all the province of Babylon, and that the people is willing to offer, and that the priests shall offer of their own accord to the house of their God, which is in Jerusalem,
16e toda a prata e o ouro que você achar em toda a província da Babilônia, com a oferta voluntária do povo e dos sacerdotes, que oferecerem voluntariamente para a casa do seu Deus, que está em Jerusalém.
17Take freely, and buy diligently with this money, calves, rams, lambs, with the sacrifices and libations of them, and offer them upon the altar of the temple of your God, that is in Jerusalem.
17Portanto, com este dinheiro, você comprará com toda a diligência novilhos, carneiros e cordeiros, com as suas ofertas de cereais e as suas ofertas de bebida, e os oferecerá sobre o altar da casa do seu Deus, que está em Jerusalém.
18And if it seem good to thee, and to thy brethren to do any thing with the rest of the silver and gold, do it according to the will of your God.
18O que parecer bem a você e aos seus irmãos fazerem com o resto da prata e do ouro, façam-no segundo a vontade do seu Deus.
19The vessels also, that are given thee for the sacrifice of the house of thy God, deliver thou in the sight of God in Jerusalem.
19Os utensílios que lhe foram dados para o serviço da casa do seu Deus, entregue-os perante o Deus de Jerusalém.
20And whatsoever more there shall be need of for the house of thy God, how much soever thou shalt have occasion to spend, it shall be given out of the treasury, and the king’s exchequer, and by me.
20Tudo o mais que for necessário para a casa do seu Deus, que você tiver ocasião de dar, dê-o da casa dos tesouros do rei.
21I Artaxerxes the king have ordered and decreed to all the keepers of the public chest, that are beyond the river, that whatsoever Esdras the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, you give it without delay,
21Eu, o rei Artaxerxes, decreto a todos os tesoureiros que estão do outro lado do Rio, que tudo o que o sacerdote Esdras, o escriba da lei do Deus dos céus, exigir de vocês, seja feito com toda a diligência,
22Unto a hundred talents of silver, and unto a hundred cores of wheat, and unto a hundred bates of wine, and unto a hundred bates of oil, and salt without measure.
22até cem talentos de prata, e até cem coros de trigo, e até cem batos de vinho, e até cem batos de azeite, e sal sem prescrever a quantidade.
23All that belongeth to the rites of the God of heaven, let it be given diligently in the house of the God of heaven: lest his wrath should be enkindled against the realm of the king, and of his sons.
23Tudo o que for ordenado pelo Deus dos céus, que seja feito exatamente para a casa do Deus dos céus; pois, por que haveria ira contra o reino do rei e de seus filhos?
24We give you also to understand concerning all the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nathinites, and ministers of the house of this God, that you have no authority to impose toll or tribute, or custom upon them.
24Também os informamos de que não será lícito impor tributo, imposto ou pedágio a nenhum dos sacerdotes, levitas, cantores, porteiros, servos do templo ou trabalhadores desta casa de Deus.
25And thou Esdras according to the wisdom of thy God, which is in thy hand, appoint judges and magistrates, that may judge all the people, that is beyond the river, that is, for them who know the law of thy God, yea and the ignorant teach ye freely.
25Você, Esdras, segundo a sabedoria do seu Deus que está na sua mão, nomeie magistrados e juízes que possam julgar todo o povo que está do outro lado do Rio, todos os que conhecem as leis do seu Deus; e ensine àquele que não as conhece.
26And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king diligently, judgment shall be executed upon him, either unto death, or unto banishment, or to the confiscation of goods, or at least to prison.
26Todo aquele que não cumprir a lei do seu Deus e a lei do rei, que o juízo seja executado sobre ele com toda a diligência, seja para morte, ou para banimento, ou para confisco de bens, ou para prisão.
27Blessed be the Lord the God of our fathers, who hath put this in the king’s heart, to glorify the house of the Lord, which is in Jerusalem,
27Bendito seja o SENHOR, o Deus de nossos pais, que colocou tal coisa como esta no coração do rei, para embelezar a casa do SENHOR que está em Jerusalém;
28And hath inclined his mercy toward me before the king and his counsellors, and all the mighty princes of the king: and I being strengthened by the hand of the Lord my God, which was upon me, gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
28e que estendeu a sua bondade para comigo perante o rei e os seus conselheiros, e perante todos os príncipes poderosos do rei. Eu fui fortalecido segundo a mão do SENHOR, meu Deus, sobre mim, e reuni os líderes de Israel para subirem comigo.
