1Paul, and Sylvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1Paulo, Silvano e Timóteo, à igreja dos tessalonicenses em Deus, nosso Pai, e no Senhor Jesus Cristo:
2Grace unto you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
2Graça e paz a vocês da parte de Deus, nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
3We are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you towards each other, aboundeth:
3Devemos sempre dar graças a Deus por vocês, irmãos, e isso é justo, porque a fé de vocês cresce extraordinariamente, e o amor de cada um de vocês pelos outros transborda,
4So that we ourselves also glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith, and in all your persecutions and tribulations, which you endure,
4de modo que nós mesmos nos orgulhamos de vocês nas igrejas de Deus, por causa da perseverança e da fé que demonstram em todas as perseguições e aflições que suportam.
5For an example of the just judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which also you suffer.
5Este é um sinal evidente do justo juízo de Deus, para que vocês sejam considerados dignos do Reino de Deus, pelo qual vocês também sofrem.
6Seeing it is a just thing with God to repay tribulation to them that trouble you:
6Pois é justo da parte de Deus retribuir com aflição àqueles que os afligem,
7And to you who are troubled, rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven, with the angels of his power:
7e dar alívio a vocês, que são afligidos, juntamente conosco, quando o Senhor Jesus for revelado do céu com os seus anjos poderosos em chamas de fogo,
8In a flame of fire, giving vengeance to them who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8punindo aqueles que não conhecem a Deus e os que não obedecem ao Evangelho de nosso Senhor Jesus,
9Who shall suffer eternal punishment in destruction, from the face of the Lord, and from the glory of his power:
9os quais sofrerão a pena da destruição eterna, longe da presença do Senhor e da glória do seu poder,
10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be made wonderful in all them who have believed; because our testimony was believed upon you in that day.
10quando ele vier naquele dia para ser glorificado em seus santos e admirado por todos os que creram, porque vocês creram em nosso testemunho.
11Wherefore also we pray always for you; that our God would make you worthy of his vocation, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness and the work of faith in power;
11Com esse propósito, também oramos sempre por vocês, para que o nosso Deus os considere dignos do seu chamado e cumpra com poder todo desejo de fazer o bem e toda obra de fé,
12That the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
12para que o nome de nosso Senhor Jesus seja glorificado em vocês, e vocês sejam glorificados nele, de acordo com a graça de nosso Deus e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
