1Therefore, if you be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above; where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God:
1Ако дакле васкрснусте с Христом, тражите оно што је горе где Христос седи с десне стране Бога.
2Mind the things that are above, not the things that are upon the earth.
2Мислите о ономе што је горе а не што је на земљи.
3For you are dead; and your life is hid with Christ in God.
3Јер умресте, и ваш је живот сакривен с Христом у Богу.
4When Christ shall appear, who is your life, then you also shall appear with him in glory.
4А кад се јави Христос, живот ваш, онда ћете се и ви с Њиме јавити у слави.
5Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is the service of idols.
5Поморите дакле уде своје који су на земљи: курварство, нечистоту, сласт, злу жељу и лакомство, које је идолопоклонство;
6For which things the wrath of God cometh upon the children of unbelief,
6за које иде гнев Божји на синове противљења;
7In which you also walked some time, when you lived in them.
7у којима и ви некада хођасте кад живесте међу њима.
8But now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth.
8А сад одбаците и ви то све: гнев, љутину, пакост, хуљење, срамотне речи из уста својих.
9Lie not one to another: stripping yourselves of the old man with his deeds,
9Не лажите један на другог; свуците старог човека с делима његовим,
10And putting on the new, him who is renewed unto knowledge, according to the image of him that created him.
10и обуците новог, које се обнавља за познање по обличју Оног који га је саздао:
11Where there is neither Gentile nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian nor Scythian, bond nor free. But Christ is all, and in all.
11Где нема Грка ни Јеврејина, обрезања ни необрезања, дивљака ни Скита, роба ни слободњака, него све и у свему Христос.
12Put ye on therefore, as the elect of God, holy, and beloved, the bowels of mercy, benignity, humility, modesty, patience:
12Обуците се дакле као избрани Божији, свети и љубазни, у срдачну милост, доброту, понизност, кротост, и трпљење,
13Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against another: even as the Lord hath forgiven you, so do you also.
13сносећи један другог, и опраштајући један другом ако има ко тужбу на кога: као што је и Христос вама опростио тако и ви.
14But above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection:
14А сврх свега тога обуците се у љубав, која је свеза савршенства.
15And let the peace of Christ rejoice in your hearts, wherein also you are called in one body: and be ye thankful.
15И мир Божји да влада у срцима вашим, на који сте и позвани у једном телу, и захвални будите.
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly, in all wisdom: teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing in grace in your hearts to God.
16Реч Христова се богато усели међу вас, у свакој премудрости учећи и саветујући сами себе са псалмима и појањем и песмама духовним, у благодати певајући у срцима својим Господу.
17All whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
17И све шта год чините речју или делом, све чините у име Господа Исуса Христа хвалећи Бога и Оца кроза Њ.
18Wives, be subject to your husbands, as it behoveth in the Lord.
18Жене! Слушајте своје мужеве као што треба у Господу.
19Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter towards them.
19Мужеви! Љубите жене своје и не срдите се на њих.
20Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
20Децо! Слушајте родитеље своје у свачему; јер је ово угодно Господу.
21Fathers, provoke not your children to indignation, lest they be discouraged.
21Очеви! Не раздражујте деце своје, да не губе воље.
22Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not serving to the eye, as pleasing men, but in simplicity of heart, fearing God.
22Слуге! Слушајте у свему своје телесне господаре, не само пред очима радећи као да људима угађате, него у простоти срца, бојећи се Бога,
23Whatsoever you do, do it from the heart, as to the Lord, and not to men:
23и све шта год чините, од срца чините као Господу, а не као људима:
24Knowing that you shall receive of the Lord the reward of inheritance. Serve ye the Lord Christ.
24Знајући да ћете од Господа примити плату наследства; јер Господу Христу служите.
25For he that doth wrong, shall receive for that which he hath done wrongfully: and there is no respect of persons with God.
25А који скриви примиће шта је скривио: и нема гледања ко је ко.
