1Dies ist das Buch von des Menschen Geschlecht. Da Gott den Menschen schuf, machte er ihn nach dem Bilde Gottes;
1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in His own likeness.
2und schuf sie einen Mann und ein Weib und segnete sie und hieß ihren Namen Mensch zur Zeit, da sie geschaffen wurden.
2Male and female He created them, and He blessed them. And in the day they were created, He called them “man.”
3Und Adam war hundertunddreißig Jahre alt und zeugte einen Sohn, der seinem Bild ähnlich war und hieß ihn Seth
3When Adam was 130 years old, he had a son in his own likeness, after his own image; and he named him Seth.
4und lebte darnach achthundert Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter;
4And after he had become the father of Seth, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
5daß sein ganzes Alter ward neunhundertunddreißig Jahre, und starb.
5So Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.
6Seth war hundertundfünf Jahre alt und zeugte Enos
6When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh.
7und lebte darnach achthundertundsieben Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter;
7And after he had become the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
8daß sein ganzes Alter ward neunhundertundzwölf Jahre, und starb.
8So Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.
9Enos war neunzig Jahre alt und zeugte Kenan
9When Enosh was 90 years old, he became the father of Kenan.
10und lebte darnach achthundertundfünzig Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter;
10And after he had become the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.
11daß sein ganzes Alter ward neunhundertundfünf Jahre, und starb.
11So Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.
12Kenan war siebzig Jahre alt und zeugte Mahalaleel
12When Kenan was 70 years old, he became the father of Mahalalel.
13und lebte darnach achthundertundvierzig Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter;
13And after he had become the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.
14daß sein ganzes Alter ward neunhundertundzehn Jahre, und starb.
14So Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.
15Mahalaleel war fünfundsechzig Jahre und zeugte Jared
15When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he became the father of Jared.
16und lebte darnach achthundertunddreißig Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter;
16And after he had become the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters.
17daß sein ganzes Alter ward achthundert und fünfundneunzig Jahre, und starb.
17So Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.
18Jared war hundertzweiundsechzig Jahre alt und zeugte Henoch
18When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch.
19und er lebte darnach achthundert Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter;
19And after he had become the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
20daß sein ganzes Alter ward neunhundert und zweiundsechzig Jahre, und starb.
20So Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.
21Henoch war fünfundsechzig Jahre alt und zeugte Methusalah.
21When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah.
22Und nachdem er Methusalah gezeugt hatte, blieb er in einem göttlichen Leben dreihundert Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter;
22And after he had become the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
23daß sein ganzes Alter ward dreihundertfünfundsechzig Jahre.
23So Enoch lived a total of 365 years.
24Und dieweil er ein göttliches Leben führte, nahm ihn Gott hinweg, und er ward nicht mehr gesehen.
24Enoch walked with God, and then he was no more, because God had taken him away.
25Methusalah war hundertsiebenundachtzig Jahre alt und zeugte Lamech
25When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech.
26und lebte darnach siebenhundert und zweiundachtzig Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter;
26And after he had become the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.
27daß sein ganzes Alter ward neunhundert und neunundsechzig Jahre, und starb.
27So Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.
28Lamech war hundertzweiundachtzig Jahre alt und zeugte einen Sohn
28When Lamech was 182 years old, he had a son.
29und hieß ihn Noah und sprach: Der wird uns trösten in unsrer Mühe und Arbeit auf der Erde, die der HERR verflucht hat.
29And he named him Noah, saying, “May this one comfort us in the labor and toil of our hands caused by the ground that the LORD has cursed.”
30Darnach lebte er fünfhundert und fünfundneunzig Jahre und zeugte Söhne und Töchter;
30And after he had become the father of Noah, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
31daß sein ganzes Alter ward siebenhundert siebenundsiebzig Jahre, und starb.
31So Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.
32Noah war fünfhundert Jahre alt und zeugte Sem, Ham und Japheth.
32After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
