1掃羅 的兒子 伊施波設 聽見 押尼珥 死在 希伯崙 ，手就發軟； 以色列 眾人也都驚惶。
1And Isboseth the son of Saul heard that Abner was slain in Hebron: and his hands were weakened, and all Israel was troubled.
2掃羅 的兒子 伊施波設 有兩個軍長，一名 巴拿 ，一名 利甲 ，是 便雅憫 支派、 比錄 人 臨門 的兒子。 比錄 也屬 便雅憫 。
2Now the son of Saul had two men captains of his bands, the name of the one was Baana, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Remmon a Berothite of the children of Benjamin: for Beroth also was reckoned in Benjamin.
3比錄 人早先逃到 基他音 ，在那裏寄居，直到今日。
3And the Berothites fled into Gethaim, and were sojourners there until that time.
4掃羅 的兒子 約拿單 有一個兒子名叫 米非波設 ，是瘸腿的。 掃羅 和 約拿單 死亡 的消息從 耶斯列 傳到的時候，他才五歲。他乳母抱着他逃跑；因為跑得太急，孩子掉在地上，腿就瘸了。
4And Jonathan the son of Saul bad a son that was lame of his feet: for he was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan from Jezrahel. And his nurse took him up and fled: and as she made haste to flee, he fell and became lame: and his name was Miphiboseth.
5一日， 比錄 人 臨門 的兩個兒子 利甲 和 巴拿 出去，約在午熱的時候到了 伊施波設 的家； 伊施波設 正睡午覺。
5And the sons of Remmon the Berothite, Rechab and Baana coming, went into the house of Isboseth in the heat of the day: and he was sleeping upon his bed at noon. And the doorkeeper of the house, who was cleansing wheat, was fallen asleep.
6他們進了房子，假作要取麥子，就刺透 伊施波設 的肚腹，逃跑了。
6And they entered into the house secretly taking ears of corn, and Rechab and Baana his brother stabbed him in the groin, and fled away.
7他們進房子的時候， 伊施波設 正在臥房裏躺在床上，他們將他殺死，割了他的首級，拿着首級在 亞拉巴 走了一夜，
7For when they came into the house, be was sleeping upon his bed in a parlour, and they struck him and killed him: and taking away his head they went off by the way of the wilderness, walking all night.
8將 伊施波設 的首級拿到 希伯崙 見 大衛 王，說：「王的仇敵 掃羅 曾尋索王的性命。看哪，這是他兒子 伊施波設 的首級；耶和華今日為我主我王在 掃羅 和他後裔的身上報了仇。」
8And they brought the head of Isboseth to David to Hebron: and they said to the king: Behold the head of Isboseth the son of Saul thy enemy who sought thy life: and the Lord hath revenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
9大衛 對 比錄 人 臨門 的兒子 利甲 和他兄弟 巴拿 說：「我指着救我性命脫離一切苦難、永生的耶和華起誓：
9But David answered Rechab, and Baana his brother, the sons of Remmon the Berothite, and said to them: As the Lord liveth, who hath delivered my soul out of all distress,
10從前有人報告我說， 掃羅 死了，他自以為報好消息；我就拿住他，將他殺在 洗革拉 ，這就作了他報消息的賞賜。
10The man that told me, and said: Saul is dead, who thought he brought good tidings, I apprehended, and slew him in Siceleg, who should have been rewarded for his news.
11何況惡人將義人殺在他的床上，我豈不向你們討流他血的罪、從世上除滅你們呢？」
11How much more now when wicked men have slain an innocent man in his own house, upon his bed, shall I not require his blood at your hand, and take you away from the earth?
12於是 大衛 吩咐少年人將他們殺了，砍斷他們的手腳，掛在 希伯崙 的池旁，卻將 伊施波設 的首級葬在 希伯崙 押尼珥 的墳墓裏。
12And David commanded his servants and they slew them: and cutting off their hands and feet, hanged them up over the pool in Hebron: but the head of Isboseth they took and buried in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.
