1猶大 王 亞哈謝 的兒子 約阿施 二十三年， 耶戶 的兒子 約哈斯 在 撒馬利亞 登基作 以色列 王十七年。
1In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years.
2約哈斯 行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，效法 尼八 的兒子 耶羅波安 使 以色列 人陷在罪裏的那罪，總不離開。
2And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
3於是，耶和華的怒氣向 以色列 人發作，將他們屢次交在 亞蘭 王 哈薛 和他兒子 便‧哈達 的手裏。
3And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and He delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Aram, and into the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael, continually.
4約哈斯 懇求耶和華，耶和華就應允他，因為見 以色列 人所受 亞蘭 王的欺壓。
4And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him; for He saw the oppression of Israel, how that the king of Aram oppressed them. —
5耶和華賜給 以色列 人一位拯救者，使他們脫離 亞蘭 人的手；於是 以色列 人仍舊安居在家裏。
5And the LORD gave Israel a deliverer, so that they went out from under the hand of the Arameans; and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.
6然而他們不離開 耶羅波安 家使 以色列 人陷在罪裏的那罪，仍然去行，並且在 撒馬利亞 留下 亞舍拉 。
6Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, wherewith he made Israel to sin, but walked therein; and there remained the Asherah also in Samaria. —
7亞蘭 王滅絕 約哈斯 的民，踐踏他們如禾場上的塵沙，只給 約哈斯 留下五十馬兵，十輛戰車，一萬步兵。
7For there was not left to Jehoahaz of the people save fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Aram destroyed them, and made them like the dust in threshing.
8約哈斯 其餘的事，凡他所行的和他的勇力都寫在 以色列 諸王記上。
8Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
9約哈斯 與他列祖同睡，葬在 撒馬利亞 。他兒子 約阿施 接續他作王。
9And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria; and Joash his son reigned in his stead.
10猶大 王 約阿施 三十七年， 約哈斯 的兒子 約阿施 在 撒馬利亞 登基作 以色列 王十六年。
10In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteen years.
11他行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，不離開 尼八 的兒子 耶羅波安 使 以色列 人陷在罪裏的一切罪，仍然去行。
11And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin; but he walked therein.
12約阿施 其餘的事，凡他所行的和他與 猶大 王 亞瑪謝 爭戰的勇力，都寫在 以色列 諸王記上。
12Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
13約阿施 與他列祖同睡， 耶羅波安 坐了他的位。 約阿施 與 以色列 諸王一同葬在 撒馬利亞 。
13And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne; and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
14以利沙 得了必死的病， 以色列 王 約阿施 下來看他，伏在他臉上哭泣，說：「我父啊！我父啊！ 以色列 的戰車馬兵啊！」
14Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he was to die; and Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over him, and said: 'My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen thereof!'
15以利沙 對他說：「你取弓箭來。」王就取了弓箭來；
15And Elisha said unto him: 'Take bow and arrows'; and he took unto him bow and arrows.
16又對 以色列 王說：「你用手拿弓。」王就用手拿 弓 。 以利沙 按手在王的手上，
16And he said to the king of Israel: 'Put thy hand upon the bow'; and he put his hand upon it. And Elisha laid his hands upon the king's hands.
17說：「你開朝東的窗戶。」他就開了。 以利沙 說：「射箭吧！」他就射箭。 以利沙 說：「這是耶和華的得勝箭，就是戰勝 亞蘭 人的箭；因為你必在 亞弗 攻打 亞蘭 人，直到滅盡他們。」
17And he said: 'Open the window eastward'; and he opened it. Then Elisha said: 'Shoot'; and he shot. And he said: 'The LORD'S arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory against Aram; for thou shalt smite the Arameans in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.'
18以利沙 又說：「取幾枝箭來。」他就取了來。 以利沙 說：「打地吧！」他打了三次，便止住了。
18And he said: 'Take the arrows'; and he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel: 'Smite upon the ground'; and he smote thrice, and stayed.
19神人向他發怒，說：「應當擊打五六次，就能攻打 亞蘭 人直到滅盡；現在只能打敗 亞蘭 人三次。」
19And the man of God was wroth with him, and said: 'Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Aram till thou hadst consumed it; whereas now thou shalt smite Aram but thrice.'
20以利沙 死了，人將他葬埋。到了新年，有一群 摩押 人犯境，
20And Elisha died, and they buried him. Now the bands of the Moabites used to invade the land at the coming in of the year.
21有人正葬死人，忽然看見一群人，就把死人拋在 以利沙 的墳墓裏，一碰着 以利沙 的骸骨，死人就復活，站起來了。
21And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha; and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
22約哈斯 年間， 亞蘭 王 哈薛 屢次欺壓 以色列 人。
22And Hazael king of Aram oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
23耶和華卻因與 亞伯拉罕 、 以撒 、 雅各 所立的約，仍施恩給 以色列 人，憐恤他們，眷顧他們，不肯滅盡他們，尚未趕逐他們離開自己面前。
23But the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither hath He cast them from His presence until now.
24亞蘭 王 哈薛 死了，他兒子 便‧哈達 接續他作王。
24And Hazael king of Aram died; and Ben-hadad his son reigned in his stead.
25從前 哈薛 和 約阿施 的父親 約哈斯 爭戰，攻取了些城邑，現在 約哈斯 的兒子 約阿施 三次打敗 哈薛 的兒子 便‧哈達 ，就收回了 以色列 的城邑。
25And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash smite him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
