1亚比米勒 以后，有 以萨迦 人 朵多 的孙子、 普瓦 的儿子 陀拉 兴起，拯救 以色列 人。他住在 以法莲 山地的 沙密 。
1And after Abimelech there arose to save Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in the hill-country of Ephraim.
2陀拉 作 以色列 的士师二十三年，就死了，葬在 沙密 。
2And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.
3在他以后有 基列 人 睚珥 兴起，作 以色列 的士师二十二年。
3And after him arose Jair, the Gileadite; and he judged Israel twenty and two years.
4他有三十个儿子，骑着三十匹驴驹。他们有三十座城邑，叫作 哈倭特·睚珥 ，直到如今，都是在 基列 地。
4And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth-jair unto this day, which are in the land of Gilead.
5睚珥 死了，就葬在 加们 。
5And Jair died, and was buried in Kamon.
6以色列 人又行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，去事奉诸 巴力 和 亚斯她录 ，并 亚兰 的神、 西顿 的神、 摩押 的神、 亚扪 人的神、 非利士 人的神，离弃耶和华，不事奉他。
6And the children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Baalim, and the Ashtaroth, and the gods of Aram, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook the LORD, and served Him not.
7耶和华的怒气向 以色列 人发作，就把他们交在 非利士 人和 亚扪 人的手中。
7And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and He gave them over into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of Ammon.
8从那年起，他们扰害欺压 约旦河 那边、住 亚摩利 人之 基列 地的 以色列 人，共有十八年。
8And they oppressed and crushed the children of Israel that year; eighteen years oppressed they all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.
9亚扪 人又渡过 约旦河 去攻打 犹大 和 便雅悯 ，并 以法莲 族。 以色列 人就甚觉窘迫。
9And the children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was sore distressed.
10以色列 人哀求耶和华说：「我们得罪了你；因为离弃了我们 神，去事奉诸 巴力 。」
10And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying: 'We have sinned against Thee, in that we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baalim.'
11耶和华对 以色列 人说：「我岂没有 救过你们 脱离 埃及 人、 亚摩利 人、 亚扪 人，和 非利士 人吗？
11And the LORD said unto the children of Israel: 'Did not I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?
12西顿 人、 亚玛力 人、 马云 人也都欺压你们；你们哀求我，我也拯救你们脱离他们的手。
12The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried unto Me, and I saved you out of their hand.
13你们竟离弃我，事奉别神！所以我不再救你们了。
13Yet ye have forsaken Me, and served other gods; wherefore I will save you no more.
14你们去哀求所选择的神；你们遭遇急难的时候，让他救你们吧！」
14Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.'
15以色列 人对耶和华说：「我们犯罪了，任凭你随意待我们吧！只求你今日拯救我们。」
15And the children of Israel said unto the LORD: 'We have sinned; do Thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto Thee; only deliver us, we pray Thee, this day.'
16以色列 人就除掉他们中间的外邦神，事奉耶和华。耶和华因 以色列 人受的苦难，就心中担忧。
16And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD; and His soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
17当时 亚扪 人聚集，安营在 基列 。 以色列 人也聚集，安营在 米斯巴 。
17Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpah.
18基列 的民和众首领彼此商议说：「谁能先去攻打 亚扪 人，谁必作 基列 一切居民的领袖。」
18And the people, the princes of Gilead, said one to another: 'What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.'
