1在 凯撒利亚 有一个人，名叫 哥尼流 ，是「 意大利 营」的百夫长。
1And there was a certain man in Caesarea, named Cornelius, a centurion of that which is called the Italian band;
2他是个虔诚人，他和全家都敬畏 神，多多周济百姓，常常祷告 神。
2A religious man, and fearing God with all his house, giving much alms to the people, and always praying to God.
3有一天，约在申初，他在异象中明明看见 神的一个使者进去，到他那里，说：「 哥尼流 。」
3This man saw in a vision manifestly, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in unto him, and saying to him: Cornelius.
4哥尼流 定睛看他，惊怕说：「主啊，什么事呢？」天使说：「你的祷告和你的周济达到 神面前，已蒙记念了。
4And he, beholding him, being seized with fear, said: What is it, Lord? And he said to him: Thy prayers and thy alms are ascended for a memorial in the sight of God.
5现在你当打发人往 约帕 去，请那称呼 彼得 的 西门 来。
5And now send men to Joppe, and call hither one Simon, who is surnamed Peter:
6他住在海边一个硝皮匠 西门 的家里，房子在海边上。」
6He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side. He will tell thee what thou must do.
7向他说话的天使去后， 哥尼流 叫了两个家人和常伺候他的一个虔诚兵来，
7And when the angel who spoke to him was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a soldier who feared the Lord, of them that were under him.
8把这事都述说给他们听，就打发他们往 约帕 去。
8To whom when he had related all, he sent them to Joppe.
9第二天，他们行路将近那城。 彼得 约在午正，上房顶去祷告，
9And on the next day, whilst they were going on their journey, and drawing nigh to the city, Peter went up to the higher parts of the house to pray, about the sixth hour.
10觉得饿了，想要吃。那家的人正预备饭的时候， 彼得 魂游象外，
10And being hungry, he was desirous to taste somewhat. And as they were preparing, there came upon him an ecstasy of mind.
11看见天开了，有一物降下，好像一块大布，系着四角，缒在地上，
11And he saw the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great linen sheet let down by the four corners from heaven to the earth:
12里面有地上各样四足的走兽和昆虫，并天上的飞鸟；
12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts, and creeping things of the earth, and fowls of the air.
13又有声音向他说：「 彼得 ，起来，宰了吃！」
13And there came a voice to him: Arise, Peter; kill and eat.
14彼得 却说：「主啊，这是不可的！凡俗物和不洁净的物，我从来没有吃过。」
14But Peter said: Far be it from me; for I never did eat any thing that is common and unclean.
15第二次有声音向他说：「 神所洁净的，你不可当作俗物。」
15And the voice spoke to him again the second time: That which God hath cleansed, do not thou call common.
16这样一连三次，那物随即收回天上去了。
16And this was done thrice; and presently the vessel was taken up into heaven.
17彼得 心里正在猜疑之间，不知所看见的异象是什么意思。 哥尼流 所差来的人已经访问到 西门 的家，站在门外，
17Now, whilst Peter was doubting within himself, what the vision that he had seen should mean, behold the men who were sent from Cornelius, inquiring for Simon’s house, stood at the gate.
18喊着问：「有称呼 彼得 的 西门 住在这里没有？」
18And when they had called, they asked, if Simon, who is surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19彼得 还思想那异象的时候， 圣 灵向他说：「有三个人来找你。
19And as Peter was thinking of the vision, the Spirit said to him: Behold three men seek thee.
20起来，下去，和他们同往，不要疑惑，因为是我差他们来的。」
20Arise, therefore, get thee down and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
21于是 彼得 下去见那些人，说：「我就是你们所找的人。你们来是为什么缘故？」
21Then Peter, going down to the men, said: Behold, I am he whom you seek; what is the cause for which you are come?
22他们说：「百夫长 哥尼流 是个义人，敬畏 神，为 犹太 通国所称赞。他蒙一位圣天使所指示，叫他请你到他家里去，听你的话。」
22Who said: Cornelius, a centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and having good testimony from all the nation of the Jews, received an answer of an holy angel, to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
23彼得 就请他们进去，住了一宿。 次日，起身和他们同去，还有 约帕 的几个弟兄同着他去；
23Then bringing them in, he lodged them. And the day following he arose, and went with them: and some of the brethren from Joppe accompanied him.
24又次日，他们进入 凯撒利亚 ， 哥尼流 已经请了他的亲属密友等候他们。
24And the morrow after, he entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, having called together his kinsmen and special friends.
25彼得 一进去， 哥尼流 就迎接他，俯伏在他脚前拜他。
25And it came to pass, that when Peter was come in, Cornelius came to meet him, Cornelius came to meet him, and falling at his feet adored.
26彼得 却拉他，说：「你起来，我也是人。」
26But Peter lifted him up, saying: Arise, I myself also am a man.
27彼得 和他说着话进去，见有好些人在那里聚集，
27And talking with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
28就对他们说：「你们知道， 犹太 人和别国的人亲近来往本是不合例的，但 神已经指示我，无论什么人都不可看作俗而不洁净的。
28And he said to them: You know how abominable it is for a man that is a Jew, to keep company or to come unto one of another nation: but God hath shewed to me, to call no man common or unclean.
29所以我被请的时候，就不推辞而来。现在请问：你们叫我来有什么意思呢？」
29For which cause, making no doubt, I came when I was sent for. I ask, therefore, for what cause you have sent for me?
30哥尼流 说：「前四天，这个时候，我在家中守着申初的祷告，忽然有一个人穿着光明的衣裳，站在我面前，
30And Cornelius said: Four days ago, unto this hour, I was praying in my house, at the ninth hour, and behold a man stood before me in white apparel, and said:
31说：『 哥尼流 ，你的祷告已蒙垂听，你的周济达到 神面前已蒙记念了。
31Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thy alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
32你当打发人往 约帕 去，请那称呼 彼得 的 西门 来，他住在海边一个硝皮匠 西门 的家里。』
32Send therefore to Joppe, and call hither Simon, who is surnamed Peter: he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side.
33所以我立时打发人去请你。你来了很好；现今我们都在 神面前，要听主所吩咐你的一切话。」
33Immediately therefore I sent to thee: and thou hast done well in coming. Now therefore all we are present in thy sight, to hear all things whatsoever are commanded thee by the Lord.
34彼得 就开口说：「我真看出 神是不偏待人。
34And Peter opening his mouth, said: In very deed I perceive, that God is not a respecter of persons.
35原来，各国中那敬畏主、行义的人都为主所悦纳。
35But in every nation, he that feareth him, and worketh justice, is acceptable to him.
36神借着耶稣基督（他是万有的主）传和平的福音，将这道赐给 以色列 人。
36God sent the word to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all.)
37这话在 约翰 宣传洗礼以后，从 加利利 起，传遍了 犹太 。
37You know the word which hath been published through all Judea: for it began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached,
38神怎样以圣灵和能力膏 拿撒勒 人耶稣，这都是你们知道的。他周流四方，行善事，医好凡被魔鬼压制的人，因为 神与他同在。
38Jesus of Nazareth: how God anointed him with the Holy Ghost, and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
39他在 犹太 人之地，并 耶路撒冷 所行的一切事，有我们作见证。他们竟把他挂在木头上杀了。
39And we are witnesses of all things that he did in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed, hanging him upon a tree.
40第三日， 神叫他复活，显现出来；
40Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest,
41不是显现给众人看，乃是显现给 神预先所拣选为他作见证的人看，就是我们这些在他从死里复活以后和他同吃同喝的人。
41Not to all the people, but to witnesses preordained by God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he arose again from the dead;
42他吩咐我们传道给众人，证明他是 神所立定的，要作审判活人、死人的主。
42And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is he who was appointed by God, to be judge of the living and of the dead.
43众先知也为他作见证说：『凡信他的人必因他的名得蒙赦罪。』」
43To him all the prophets give testimony, that by his name all receive remission of sins, who believe in him.
44彼得 还说这话的时候，圣灵降在一切听道的人身上。
44While Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them that heard the word.
45那些奉割礼、和 彼得 同来的信徒，见圣灵的恩赐也浇在外邦人身上，就都希奇；
45And the faithful of the circumcision, who came with Peter, were astonished, for that the grace of the Holy Ghost was poured out upon the Gentiles also.
46因听见他们说方言，称赞 神为大。
46For they heard them speaking with tongues, and magnifying God.
47于是 彼得 说：「这些人既受了圣灵，与我们一样，谁能禁止用水给他们施洗呢？」
47Then Peter answered: Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Ghost, as well as we?
48就吩咐奉耶稣基督的名给他们施洗。他们又请 彼得 住了几天。
48And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Then they desired him to tarry with them some days.
