1有几个人从 犹太 下来，教训弟兄们说：「你们若不按 摩西 的规条受割礼，不能得救。」
1And some coming down from Judea, taught the brethren: That except you be circumcised after the manner of Moses, you cannot be saved.
2保罗 、 巴拿巴 与他们大大地纷争辩论； 众门徒 就定规，叫 保罗 、 巴拿巴 和本会中几个人，为所辩论的，上 耶路撒冷 去见使徒和长老。
2And when Paul and Barnabas had no small contest with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of the other side, should go up to the apostles and priests to Jerusalem about this question.
3于是教会送他们起行。他们经过 腓尼基 、 撒马利亚 ，随处传说外邦人归主的事，叫众弟兄都甚欢喜。
3They therefore being brought on their way by the church, passed through Phenice, and Samaria, relating the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.
4到了 耶路撒冷 ，教会和使徒并长老都接待他们，他们就述说 神同他们所行的一切事。
4And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and ancients, declaring how great things God had done with them.
5惟有几个信徒是法利赛教门的人，起来说：「必须给外邦人行割礼，吩咐他们遵守 摩西 的律法。」
5But there arose some of the sect of the Pharisees that believed, saying: They must be circumcised, and be commanded to observe the law of Moses.
6使徒和长老聚会商议这事；
6And the apostles and ancients assembled to consider of this matter.
7辩论已经多了， 彼得 就起来，说：「诸位弟兄，你们知道 神早已在你们中间拣选了我，叫外邦人从我口中得听福音之道，而且相信。
7And when there had been much disputing, Peter, rising up, said to them: Men, brethren, you know, that in former days God made choice among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8知道人心的 神也为他们作了见证，赐圣灵给他们，正如给我们一样；
8And God, who knoweth the hearts, gave testimony, giving unto them the Holy Ghost, as well as to us;
9又借着信洁净了他们的心，并不分他们我们。
9And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10现在为什么试探 神，要把我们祖宗和我们所不能负的轭放在门徒的颈项上呢？
10Now therefore, why tempt you God to put a yoke upon the necks of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?
11我们得救乃是因主耶稣的恩，和他们一样，这是我们所信的。」
11But by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we believe to be saved, in like manner as they also.
12众人都默默无声，听 巴拿巴 和 保罗 述说 神借他们在外邦人中所行的神迹奇事。
12And all the multitude held their peace; and they heard Barnabas and Paul telling what great signs and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
13他们住了声， 雅各 就说：「诸位弟兄，请听我的话。
13And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying: Men, brethren, hear me.
14方才 西门 述说 神当初怎样眷顾外邦人，从他们中间选取百姓归于自己的名下；
14Simon hath related how God first visited to take of the Gentiles a people to his name.
15众先知的话也与这意思相合。
15And to this agree the words of the prophets, as it is written:
16正如 经上 所写的： 此后，我要回来， 重新修造 大卫 倒塌的帐幕， 把那破坏的重新修造建立起来，
16After these things I will return, and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and the ruins thereof I will rebuild, and I will set it up:
17叫余剩的人， 就是凡称为我名下的外邦人， 都寻求主。
17That the residue of men may seek after the Lord, and all nations upon whom my name is invoked, saith the Lord, who doth these things.
18这话是从创世以来显明这事的主说的。
18To the Lord was his own work known from the beginning of the world.
19「所以据我的意见，不可难为那归服 神的外邦人；
19For which cause I judge that they, who from among the Gentiles are converted to God, are not to be disquieted.
20只要写信，吩咐他们禁戒偶像的污秽和奸淫，并勒死的牲畜和血。
20But that we write unto them, that they refrain themselves from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
21因为从古以来， 摩西 的书 在各城有人传讲，每逢安息日，在会堂里诵读。」
21For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him in the synagogues, where he is read every sabbath.
22那时，使徒和长老并全教会定意从他们中间拣选人，差他们和 保罗 、 巴拿巴 同往 安提阿 去； 所拣选的 就是称呼 巴撒巴 的 犹大 和 西拉 。这两个人在弟兄中是作首领的。
22Then it pleased the apostles and ancients, with the whole church, to choose men of their own company, and to send to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas, who was surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren.
23于是写信交付他们，内中说：「使徒和作长老的弟兄们问 安提阿 、 叙利亚 、 基利家 外邦众弟兄的安。
23Writing by their hands: The apostles and ancients, brethren, to the brethren of the Gentiles that are at Antioch, and in Syria and Cilicia, greeting.
24我们听说，有几个人从我们这里出去，用言语搅扰你们，惑乱你们的心。其实我们并没有吩咐他们。
24Forasmuch as we have heard, that some going out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls; to whom we gave no commandment:
25所以，我们同心定意，拣选几个人，差他们同我们所亲爱的 巴拿巴 和 保罗 往你们那里去。
25It hath seemed good to us, being assembled together, to choose out men, and to send them unto you, with our well beloved Barnabas and Paul:
26这二人是为我主耶稣基督的名不顾性命的。
26Men that have given their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27我们就差了 犹大 和 西拉 ，他们也要亲口诉说这些事。
27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves also will, by word of mouth, tell you the same things.
28因为圣灵和我们定意不将别的重担放在你们身上，惟有几件事是不可少的，
28For it hath seemed good to the Holy Ghost and to us, to lay no further burden upon you than these necessary things:
29就是禁戒祭偶像的物和血，并勒死的牲畜和奸淫。这几件你们若能自己禁戒不犯就好了。愿你们平安！」
29That you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; from which things keeping yourselves, you shall do well. Fare ye well.
30他们既奉了差遣，就下 安提阿 去，聚集众人，交付书信。
30They therefore being dismissed, went down to Antioch; and gathering together the multitude, delivered the epistle.
31众人念了，因为信上安慰的话就欢喜了。
31Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
32犹大 和 西拉 也是先知，就用许多话劝勉弟兄，坚固他们。
32But Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, with many words comforted the brethren, and confirmed them.
33住了些日子，弟兄们打发他们平平安安地回到差遣他们的人那里去。
33And after they had spent some time there, they were let go with peace by the brethren, unto them that had sent them.

34But it seemed good unto Silas to remain there; and Judas alone departed to Jerusalem.
35但 保罗 和 巴拿巴 仍住在 安提阿 ，和许多别人一同教训人，传主的道。
35And Paul and Barnabas continued at Antioch, teaching and preaching, with many others, the word of the Lord.
36过了些日子， 保罗 对 巴拿巴 说：「我们可以回到从前宣传主道的各城，看望弟兄们景况如何。」
36And after some days, Paul said to Barnabas: Let us return and visit our brethren in all the cities wherein we have preached the word of the Lord, to see how they do.
37巴拿巴 有意要带称呼 马可 的 约翰 同去；
37And Barnabas would have taken with them John also, that was surnamed Mark;
38但 保罗 因为 马可 从前在 旁非利亚 离开他们，不和他们同去做工，就以为不可带他去。
38But Paul desired that he (as having departed from them out of Pamphylia, and not gone with them to the work) might not be received.
39于是二人起了争论，甚至彼此分开。 巴拿巴 带着 马可 ，坐船往 塞浦路斯 去；
39And there arose a dissension, so that they departed one from another; and Barnabas indeed taking Mark, sailed to Cyprus.
40保罗 拣选了 西拉 ，也出去，蒙弟兄们把他交于主的恩中。
40But Paul choosing Silas, departed, being delivered by the brethren to the grace of God.
41他就走遍 叙利亚 、 基利家 ，坚固众教会。
41And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches, commanding them to keep the precepts of the apostles and the ancients.
