Job 31
Asang Khongca Bible (Eastern Khumi Chin, 2019)
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1Tangla to koehhaih mik hoiah ka khet han ai ah, ka mik hoi lokkamhaih to ka sak.
1I made a covenant with my eyes, that I would not so much as think upon a virgin.
2To tiah nahaeloe Sithaw mah ranui bang hoiah kawbaktih taham maw paek ueloe, ranui ih Thacak Sithaw mah kawbaktih toep han koi qawk maw paek tih?
2For what part should God from above have in me, and what inheritance the Almighty from on high?
3Kasae kaminawk hanah amrohaih om ueloe, zaehaih sah kaminawk hanah anghmathaih om mak ai maw?
3Is not destruction to the wicked, and aversion to them that work iniquity?
4Anih mah loe ka caehhaih loklamnawk to panoek moe, ka khok tangkannawk doeh kroek boih na ai maw?
4Doth not he consider my ways, and number all my steps?
5Amsoem ai ah ka caeh moe, alinghaih bangah ka khok tangkan to rang nahaeloe,
5If I have walked in vanity, and my foot hath made haste to deceit:
6kamsoem coih tahhaih hoiah na tah nasoe loe, coek koi om ai ah kho ka sakhaih to Sithaw mah panoek nasoe.
6Let him weigh me in a just balance, and let God know my simplicity.
7Loklam kam khraeng ving moe, ka palungthin mah ka mik koehhaih hnukah patom moeng maw, to tih ai boeh loe ka ban ah panuet thok hmuen maw akap moeng nahaeloe,
7If my step hath turned out of the way, and if my heart hath followed my eyes, and if a spot hath cleaved to my hands:
8ka patit ih thingthai to minawk kalah mah caa nasoe, ue, ka patit ih akungnawk doeh aphong o king nasoe.
8Then let me sow and let another eat: and let my offspring be rooted out.
9Nongpata maeto mah ka palung hae pacuek moe, ka imtaeng kami ih khongkha ah anih to ka zing nahaeloe,
9If my heart hath been deceived upon a woman, and if I have laid wait at my friend’s door:
10ka zu mah minawk ih cang to daeng pae nasoe loe, minawk mah ka zu to muk o nasoe.
10Let my wife be the harlot of another, and let other men lie with her.
11Hae hmuen loe kalen parai zaehaih ah oh; ue, lokcaekkung mah danpaek han koi zaehaih ah oh.
11For this is a heinous crime, and a most grievous iniquity.
12To zaehaih loe amrosak thaih hmai, ka tawnh ih hmuennawk tangzuun khoek to kangh boih hmai ah oh.
12It is a fire that devoureth even to destruction, and rooteth up all things that spring.
13Ka tamna nongpa hoi nongpatanawk mah kai laisaep o thuih naah, nihcae to khet ka patoek nahaeloe,
13If I have despised to abide judgment with my manservant, or my maidservant, when they had any controversy against me:
14Sithaw amtueng naah timaw ka sak moe, lokcaek naah timaw ka pathim han?
14For what shall I do when God shall rise to judge? and when he shall examine, what shall I answer him?
15Anih doeh kai sahkung Sithaw mah na ai maw sak? Kaihnik loe sahkung maeto mah na ai maw zok thungah sak hmaek?
15Did not he that made me in the womb make him also: and did not one and the same form me in the womb?
16Caaknaek tawn ai kami hanah caaknaek ka paek ai maw, lamhmai ih mik to kam rosak maw,
16If I have denied to the poor what they desired, and have made the eyes of the widow wait:
17to tih ai boeh loe amno ampa tawn ai kaminawk hanah caaknaek paek ai ah, kaimabueng ah ka caak maw,
17If I have eaten my morsel alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof:
18(ka thendoeng nathuem hoi ampa ah angcoeng khoek to caaknaek tawn ai kami to ka pacah, ka tapen tangsuek natuem hoi anih to ka bomh boeh;)
18(For from my infancy mercy grew up with me: and it came out with me from my mother’s womb:)
19khukbuen tawn ai ah dueh kami hoi khukbuen tawn ai ah kaom amtang kami to ka hnuk moe,
19If I have despised him that was perishing for want of clothing, and the poor man that had no covering:
20kai mah anih to bae um ah tuumui kang khuksak ai pongah, anih mah kai tahamhoihaih paek ai maw,
20If his sides have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep:
21lokcaekhaih im ah kai angdoe haih kami om tih hmang, tiah ka poek pongah, amno ampa tawn ai kami to ka pacaekthlaek nahaeloe,
21If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, even when I saw myself superior in the gate:
22ka ban tampawk hae palaeng hoiah amkhraeng ving nasoe loe, ka palaeng huh doeh angkhaek lawt nasoe.
22Let my shoulder fall from its joint, and let my arm with its bones be broken.
23Sithaw khae hoi ih amrohaih to ka zit, a Lensawkhaih to ka zit pongah to baktih hmuen to ka sah ai.
23For I have always feared God as waves swelling over me, and his weight I was not able to bear.
24Sui to kang oep haih maw, to tih ai boeh loe kaciim suitui khaeah, Nang loe ka buephaih ah na oh, tiah ka thuih moeng maw,
24If I have thought gold my strength, and have said to fine gold: My confidence:
25hmuenmae paroeai ka tawnh moe, ka ban mah hmuenmae paroeai hak thaih pongah kam oek moeng maw,
25If I have rejoiced over my great riches, and because my hand had gotten much.
26ni aengh to ka khet moe, a aanghaih hoiah kacaeh khrah to ka khet naah,
26If I beheld the sun when it shined, and the moon going in brightness:
27tamquta hoi anghoehaih ka tawnh moe, ka pakha mah ka ban hae mok cadoeh;
27And my heart in secret hath rejoiced, and I have kissed my hand with my mouth:
28lokcaek koi kaom zaehaih ah ni oh, ranui koekah kaom Sithaw angphat taak baktiah ni oh.
28Which is a very great iniquity, and a denial against the most high God.
29Kai hnuma kami amro naah, kang hoe moe, anih raihaih tongh naah, kam oek vai maw,
29If I have been glad at the downfall of him that hated me, and have rejoiced that evil had found him.
30a hinghaih tangoeng moe, zaehaih sak hanah pakha ka aang mak ai.
30For I have not given my mouth to sin, by wishing a curse to his soul.
31Ka imthung ah kaom kaminawk mah, zok kamhah ah Job ih moi caa o vai ai, tiah thui o mak ai.
31If the men of my tabernacle have not said: Who will give us of his flesh that we may be filled?
32Angvinnawk loklam ah iih o han ai ah, kholong caeh kaminawk hanah khongkha to ka paongh pae.
32The stranger did not stay without, my door was open to the traveller.
33Adam baktiah ka zaehaih ka hawk ai, ka zaehaih palung thungah ka hawk vai ai;
33If as a man I have hid my sin, and have concealed my iniquity in my bosom.
34pop parai kami to ka zit, to tih ai boeh loe acaeng kaminawk mah pahnui thui haih to ka zit pongah, kang hngai duem moe, tasa bang tacawt ai ah ka oh vai maw?
34If I have been afraid at a very great multitude, and the contempt of kinsmen hath terrified me: and I have not rather held my peace, and not gone out of the door.
35Who would grant me a hearer, that the Almighty may hear my desire; and that he himself that judgeth would write a book,
36To ca to palaeng ah ka put moe, sui lumuek baktiah kang muek han.
36That I may carry it on my shoulder, and put it about me as a crown?
37Ka caehhaih khok tangkannawk anih khaeah ka thuih moe, siangpahrang capa baktiah a taengah ka caeh han.
37At every step of mine I would pronounce it, and offer it as to a prince.
38Kai ih long mah kai hae kasae thuih maw, to tih ai boeh loe mikkhraetui hoiah a qah maw,
38If my land cry against me, and with it the furrows thereof mourn:
39atho paek ai ah anih ih thingthai to ka caak pae moe, laikok tawnkungnawk hinghaih to kam rosak nahaeloe,
39If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, and have afflicted the soul of the tillers thereof:
40cang zuengah soekhringkung amprawk nasoe loe, barli cang zuengah phroh amprawk lat nasoe, tiah a naa. Job ih lok loe hae ah boeng boeh.
40Let thistles grow up to me instead of wheat, and thorns instead of barley.
