1Elkosh acaeng Nahum khaeah hnuksak ih cabu. Ninevah kawng pongah thuih ih lok loe hae tiah oh.
1The burden of Ninive. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elcesite.
2Angraeng loe ut thaih, lu la thaih Sithaw ah oh; palungphui moe, lu la Angraeng ah oh; Angraeng loe a misanawk nuiah palungphui pongah, a misanawk nuiah lu la tih.
2The Lord is a jealous God, and a revenger: the Lord is a revenger, and hath wrath: the Lord taketh vengeance on his adversaries, and he is angry with his enemies.
3Angraeng loe palungphui zoi ai, thacak parai moe, zaehaih sah kaminawk to thuitaek ai ah khen sut mak ai: a loklam loe kamhae takhi hoi takhi sae nuiah oh, tamainawk loe a khok ih maiphu ah ni oh o.
3The Lord is patient, and great in power, and will not cleanse and acquit the guilty. The Lord’s ways are in a tempest, and a whirlwind, and clouds are the dust of his feet.
4Tuipui to a zoeh moe, tui to kaangsak, tuipuinawk to a kaangsak boih. Bashan hoi Karmel to azaemsak moe, Lebanon ih apawk to a zaisak.
4He rebuketh the sea, and drieth it up: and bringeth all the rivers to be a desert. Basan languisheth and Carmel: and the dower of Libanus fadeth away.
5Maenawk loe a hmaa ah anghuen o moe, maesomnawk loe tui ah amzawt o, ue, long hoi a thungah kaom kaminawk boih a hmaa ah hmai mah kangh.
5The mountains tremble at him, and the hills are made desolate: and the earth hath quaked at his presence, and the world, and all that dwell therein.
6Anih palungphuihaih hmaa ah mi maw angdoe thai tih? Kanung parai anih palungphuihaih to mi mah maw pauep thai tih? Anih palungphuihaih loe hmai baktiah oh moe, anih hmaa ah loe thlungnawk doeh koih o boih.
6Who can stand before the face of his indignation? and who shall resist in the fierceness of his anger? his indignation is poured out like fire: and the rocks are melted by him.
7Angraeng loe hoih, raihaih tongh naah abuephaih kahoih ah oh; anih tang kaminawk to a panoek.
7The Lord is good and giveth strength in the day of trouble: and knoweth them that hope in him.
8To ahmuen loe tui mah uem ueloe, boenghaih phasak tih; a misanawk to khoving thungah tanawt tih.
8But with a flood that passeth by, he will make an utter end of the place thereof: and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
9Tih pongah Angraeng misatuk hanah na poek o loe? Anih mah a misanawk to tamit boih tih; vai hnetto tamit han angai ai.
9What do ye devise against the Lord? he will make an utter end: there shall not rise a double affliction.
10Nihcae loe maeto hoi maeto angzaeng caeng soekhring baktiah oh o, mu paquih hmoek kami baktiah oh o moe, hmai mah kangh ih anghnoeng baktiah oh o.
10For as thorns embrace one another: so while they are feasting and drinking together, they shall be consumed as stubble that is fully dry.
11Angraeng to kasae thuih o moe, kasae poekhaih tawn kami maeto, nang thung hoiah angzoh boeh.
11Out of thee shall come forth one that imagineth evil against the Lord, contriving treachery in his mind.
12Angraeng mah, nihcae loe khosak hoih o moe, kami pop o parai cadoeh, amro o ueloe, anghma o boih tih. Kai mah nangcae to kang pacaekthlaek, toe natuek naah doeh kang pacaekthlaek let mak ai boeh.
12Thus saith the Lord: Though they were perfect: and many of them so, yet thus shall they be cut off, and he shall pass: I have afflicted thee, and I will afflict thee no more.
13Vaihi anih ih hnam to nang khae hoiah ka vah moe, nang ih sumquinawk to ka takroek boih han, tiah thuih.
13And now I will break in pieces his rod with which he struck thy back, and I will burst thy bonds asunder.
14Angraeng mah nang kawng pongah lokpaek boeh; na hmin to om poe mak ai boeh: na sithaw imthung ah na soi o ih krang, na sak o cop ih krang to kang phraek pae boih han; na set o hmoek pongah, nang hanah taprong kang sak pae han.
14And the Lord will give a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name shall be sown: I will destroy the graven and molten thing out of the house of thy God, I will make it thy grave, for thou art disgraced.
15Maenawk nuiah kahoih tamthanglok kasin, monghaih lok thui kaminawk ih khok to khen oh! Aw Judah, nangmah ih poih to uum ah loe, na sak ih lokkamhaih to pazui ah: kasae na misa loe amro boeh pongah, anih mah na prae to muk let mak ai boeh.
15Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, and that preacheth peace: O Juda, keep thy festivals, and pay thy vows: for Belial shall no more pass through thee again, he is utterly cut off.
