Psalms 49

Berean Standard Bible
Baibal Olcim (Matupi Chin)
1Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all inhabitants of the world,
1Pilnam boeih loh hekah he ya uh lah. Khosaknah dongkah khosa boeih loh hnatun uh.
2both low and high, rich and poor alike.
2Hlang capa rhoek long khaw, hlang tongpa rhoek long khaw, hlanglen neh khodaeng long khaw thikat la hnatun uh.
3My mouth will impart wisdom, and the meditation of my heart will bring understanding.
3Ka ka loh cueihnah a thui vetih ka lungbuei poeknah loh a lungcuei om bitni.
4I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will express my riddle with the harp:
4Ka hna he taengla ka kaeng vetih, ka olkael he rhotoeng neh ka thuicaih ni.
5Why should I fear in times of trouble, when wicked usurpers surround me?
5Yoethaenah hnin ah ka khodil kathaesainah loh kai m'vael dae ba ham lae ka rhih eh?
6They trust in their wealth and boast in their great riches.
6A thadueng dongah pangtung uh tih a khuehtawn a yet neh thangthen uh dae,
7No man can possibly redeem his brother or pay his ransom to God.
7hlang loh a manuca te a lat khaw a lat thai moenih. A tlansum te Pathen taengah a paek thai moenih.
8For the redemption of his soul is costly, and never can payment suffice,
8A hinglu kah tlansum tah kuelka tih kumhal a toeng.
9that he should live on forever and not see decay.
9Te koihnih a yoeyah la hing pueng sui tih hlan khaw hmuh pawt sue.
10For it is clear that wise men die, and the foolish and the senseless both perish and leave their wealth to others.
10Aka cueih rhoek long tah a duek te a hmuh. Aka ang neh kotalh khaw a milh vaengah a khuehtawn te hlang tloe ham a caehtak.
11Their graves are their eternal homes— their dwellings for endless generations— even though their lands were their namesakes.
11Amih kah poeknah nen tah a im te kumhal ah, a pohmuen te thawnpuei lamkah cadilcahma duela, om ni a ti uh tih tolhmuen te amih ming neh a khue uh.
12But a man, despite his wealth, cannot endure; he is like the beasts that perish.
12Tedae hlang he umponah khaw a rhaehrhong moenih, rhamsa banglam ni a thuidoek tih a hmata.
13This is the fate of the self-confident and their followers who endorse their sayings. Selah
13Tetl a amamih khosing tea uepnah tih amih kah olthui te a hnukbang rhoek loh a pom uh. Selah
14Like sheep they are destined for Sheol. Death will be their shepherd. The upright will rule them in the morning, and their form will decay in Sheol, far from their lofty abode.
15But God will redeem my life from Sheol, for He will surely take me to Himself. Selah
15Tedae Pathen loh ka hinglu he saelkhui kut lamkah n'lat dongah kai he n'loh bit ni. Selah
16Do not be amazed when a man grows rich, when the splendor of his house increases.
16Hlang pakhat loh boei tih a im kah thangpomnah loh pungtai cakhaw rhih boeh.
17For when he dies, he will carry nothing away; his abundance will not follow him down.
17A duek vaengah pakhat khaw khuen mahpawh. A thangpomnah loh anih te suntlak puei mahpawh.
18Though in his lifetime he blesses his soul— and men praise you when you prosper—
18A hing vaengah a hinglu te yoethen a paek tih namah te na hoeikhang vaengah nang uem uh dae,
19he will join the generation of his fathers, who will never see the light of day.
19A napa rhoek kah cadilcahma la cet vetih yoeyah la vangnah hmu uh mahpawh.
20A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish.
20Hlang he umponah neh om dae a yakming pawt atah rhamsa aka hmata rhoek bangla om.
