Tongan Bible, Revised West Version
1Hallelujah! Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.
1Mou fakamālō kia Sihova. Mou ʻatu ʻae fakafetaʻi kia Sihova; he ʻoku angalelei ia: koeʻuhi ʻoku tolonga ʻo taʻengata ʻa ʻene ʻaloʻofa.
2Who can describe the mighty acts of the LORD or fully proclaim His praise?
2Ko hai ʻe faʻa fakamatala ki he ngaahi ngāue lahi ʻa Sihova? Ko hai ʻe faʻa fakahā ʻae fakamālō kotoa pē kiate ia?
3Blessed are those who uphold justice, who practice righteousness at all times.
3ʻOku monūʻia ʻakinautolu ʻoku tokanga ki he fakamaau, mo ia ʻoku fai māʻoniʻoni ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
4Remember me, O LORD, in Your favor to Your people; visit me with Your salvation,
4ʻE Sihova, ke ke manatuʻi au ʻaki ʻae ʻofa ʻaia ʻoku ke ʻofa ʻaki ki hoʻo kakai: ke ke ʻaʻahi mai kiate au ʻaki hoʻo fakamoʻui;
5that I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, and rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, and give glory with Your inheritance.
5Koeʻuhi ke u mamata ki he lelei ʻo ia kuo ke fili, koeʻuhi ke u fiefia ʻi he fiefia ʻo ho puleʻanga, pea u vikiviki ai fakataha mo ho tofiʻa.
6We have sinned like our fathers; we have done wrong and acted wickedly.
6Ko kimautolu mo ʻemau ngaahi tamai kuo mau fai angahala, kuo mau fai ʻae ngaahi hia, kuo mau fai kovi.
7Our fathers in Egypt did not grasp Your wonders or remember Your abundant kindness; but they rebelled by the sea, there at the Red Sea.
7Naʻe ʻikai ʻilo ʻe heʻemau ngaahi tamai hoʻo ngaahi ngāue fakaofo ʻi ʻIsipite; naʻe ʻikai tenau manatu ki hono lahi ʻo hoʻo ngaahi ʻaloʻofa; ka naʻa nau fakahouhau kiate ia ʻi he tahi, ʻio, ʻi he Tahi Kulokula.
8Yet He saved them for the sake of His name, to make His power known.
8Ka naʻa ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu koeʻuhi ko hono huafa, koeʻuhi ke ne fakaʻilo ʻa hono mālohi lahi.
9He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; He led them through the depths as through a desert.
9Naʻe valoki foki ʻe ia ʻae Tahi Kulokula, pea mōmoa ia: ko ia naʻa ne tataki ʻakinautolu ʻi he loloto, ʻo hangē ko e toafa.
10He saved them from the hand that hated them; He redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
10Pea naʻa ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu mei he nima ʻo ia naʻe fehiʻa kiate kinautolu, mo ne huhuʻi ʻakinautolu mei he nima ʻoe fili.
11The waters covered their foes; not one of them remained.
11Pea naʻe lōmakiʻi honau ngaahi fili ʻaki ʻae ngaahi vai: pea naʻe ʻikai hao ha tokotaha ʻiate kinautolu.
12Then they believed His promises and sang His praise.
12Pea naʻa nau toki tui ki heʻene folofola; naʻa nau hiva ʻaki ʻae fakamālō kiate ia.
13Yet they soon forgot His works and failed to wait for His counsel.
13Naʻe ngalo leva ʻiate kinautolu ʻene ngaahi ngāue; pea naʻe ʻikai tenau tatali ki heʻene akonaki:
14They craved intensely in the wilderness and tested God in the desert.
14Ka naʻa nau holi kovi ʻaupito ʻi he toafa, pea ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻae ʻOtua ʻi he potu lala.
15So He granted their request, but sent a wasting disease upon them.
15Pea naʻa ne foaki kiate kinautolu ʻaia naʻa nau kole; ka naʻa ne fekau ʻae tutue ki honau laumālie.
16In the camp they envied Moses, as well as Aaron, the holy one of the LORD.
16Naʻa nau meheka foki kia Mōsese ʻi he loto ʻapitanga, mo ʻElone ko e tokotaha māʻoniʻoni ʻa Sihova.
17The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan; it covered the assembly of Abiram.
17Naʻe mafahi ʻae kelekele pea folo hifo ai ʻa Tatani, mo ʻufiʻufi ai ʻae kakai ʻo ʻEpilami.
18Then fire blazed through their company; flames consumed the wicked.
18Pea naʻe tutu ai ʻae afi ʻi honau kakai; pea vela ke ʻosi ʻe he ulo afi ʻae kau angahala.
19At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped a molten image.
19Naʻa nau ngaohi ʻae fakatātā ʻoe ʻuhikiʻi pulu ʻi Holepi, pea lotu ki he fakatātā koula.
20They exchanged their Glory for the image of a grass-eating ox.
20Naʻe pehē ʻenau liliu honau nāunau, ki he fakatātā ʻoe pulu ʻaia ʻoku kai mohuku.
21They forgot God their Savior, who did great things in Egypt,
21Naʻa nau fakangalongaloʻi ʻae ʻOtua ko honau fakamoʻui, ʻaia naʻe fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa lahi ʻi ʻIsipite;
22wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome deeds by the Red Sea.
22Ko e ngaahi ngāue fakaofo ʻi he fonua ʻo Hami, mo e ngaahi meʻa fakailifia ʻi he Tahi Kulokula.
23So He said He would destroy them— had not Moses His chosen one stood before Him in the breach to divert His wrath from destroying them.
24They despised the pleasant land; they did not believe His promise.
24ʻIo, naʻa nau fehiʻa ki he fonua lelei, naʻe ʻikai tenau tui ki heʻene folofola:
25They grumbled in their tents and did not listen to the voice of the LORD.
25Ka naʻa nau lāunga ʻi honau ngaahi fale fehikitaki, ʻo taʻetokanga ki he leʻo ʻo Sihova.
26So He raised His hand and swore to cast them down in the wilderness,
26Ko ia naʻa ne hiki hake ai hono nima kiate kinautolu, ke tulaki ʻakinautolu ʻi he toafa:
27to disperse their offspring among the nations and scatter them throughout the lands.
27Ke tulaki foki honau hako ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga, mo fakahēʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi he ngaahi fonua.
28They yoked themselves to Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices offered to lifeless gods.
28Naʻa nau ului foki kia Peali-Peoli, mo nau kai ʻae ngaahi feilaulau ʻoe mate.
29So they provoked the LORD to anger with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them.
29Ko ia naʻa nau fakahouhauʻi ia ʻaki ʻenau ngaahi filioʻi: pea naʻe ʻoho mai ʻae mahaki fakaʻauha kiate kinautolu.
30But Phinehas stood and intervened, and the plague was restrained.
30Pea naʻe toki tuʻu hake ʻa Finiasi, ʻo fai ʻae fakamaau: pea naʻe lolomi ai ʻae mahaki fakaʻauha.
31It was credited to him as righteousness for endless generations to come.
31Pea naʻe lau ia kiate ia ko e māʻoniʻoni ʻi he ngaahi toʻutangata kotoa pē ʻo lauikuonga.
32At the waters of Meribah they angered the LORD, and trouble came to Moses because of them.
32Naʻa nau fakahouhau kiate ia foki ʻi he ngaahi vai ʻoe fekeʻikeʻi, pea hoko ʻae kovi kia Mōsese koeʻuhi ko kinautolu:
33For they rebelled against His Spirit, and Moses spoke rashly with his lips.
33Ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau fakatupu hono loto, ko ia naʻa ne lea ʻaki ʻae lea taʻengali ʻe hono loungutu.
34They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them,
34Naʻe ʻikai tenau fakaʻauha ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga, ʻaia naʻe fekau ʻe Sihova kiate kinautolu:
35but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs.
35Ka naʻa nau nofo fakataha mo e hiteni, pea nau ʻilo ʻenau ngaahi ngāue.
36They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.
36Pea naʻa nau tauhi honau ngaahi tamapua: ʻaia naʻe hoko ko e tauhele kiate kinautolu.
37They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
37ʻIo, naʻa nau feilaulau ʻaki honau ngaahi foha mo honau ngaahi ʻofefine ki he kau tēvolo,
38They shed innocent blood— the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood.
38Mo lilingi ʻae toto māʻoniʻoni, ko e toto ʻo honau ngaahi foha mo honau ngaahi ʻofefine, ʻakinautolu naʻa nau feilaulau ʻaki ki he ngaahi tamapua ʻo ʻi he toto.
39They defiled themselves by their actions and prostituted themselves by their deeds.
39Pea naʻe fakaʻuliʻi pehē ʻakinautolu ʻi heʻenau ngaahi ngāue, pea nau fai feʻauaki ʻi heʻenau ngaahi filioʻi.
40So the anger of the LORD burned against His people, and He abhorred His own inheritance.
40Ko ia naʻe tupu ai ʻae houhau ʻo Sihova ki hono kakai, pea ne fākaliliʻa ai ki hono tofiʻa ʻoʻona.
41He delivered them into the hand of the nations, and those who hated them ruled over them.
41Pea naʻa ne tukuange ʻakinautolu ki he nima ʻoe hiteni; pea naʻe pule kiate kinautolu ʻakinautolu naʻe fehiʻa kiate kinautolu.
42Their enemies oppressed them, and subdued them under their hand.
42Pea naʻe fakamālohiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻe honau ngaahi fili, pea fakamoʻulaloa ʻakinautolu ki honau lalo nima.
43Many times He rescued them, but they were bent on rebellion and sank down in their iniquity.
43Naʻe liunga lahi ʻene fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu; ka naʻa nau fakahouhauʻi ia ʻi heʻenau fakakaukau, pea naʻe fakavaivaiʻi ʻakinautolu koeʻuhi ko ʻenau hia.
44Nevertheless He heard their cry; He took note of their distress.
44Ka naʻa ne tokanga ki heʻenau mamahi, ʻi heʻene ongoʻi ʻenau tangi:
45And He remembered His covenant with them, and relented by the abundance of His loving devotion.
45Pea ne manatuʻi ʻa ʻene fuakava mo kinautolu, pea ne fakatomala ʻo fakatatau mo hono lahi ʻo ʻene ʻaloʻofa.
46He made them objects of compassion to all who held them captive.
46naʻa ne pule foki ke manavaʻofa kiate kinautolu ʻakinautolu kotoa pē naʻe ʻave pōpula ʻakinautolu.
47Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name, that we may glory in Your praise.
47Fakamoʻui ʻakimautolu, ʻE Sihova ko homau ʻOtua, pea tānaki ʻakimautolu mei he lotolotonga ʻoe hiteni, ke mau fakafetaʻi ki ho huafa māʻoniʻoni, pea hanuhanu ʻi he fakamālō kiate koe.
48Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!” Hallelujah!
48Fakafetaʻi kia Sihova koe ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli talu mei muʻa ʻo aʻu ʻo taʻengata; pea tuku ke lea pehē ʻe he kakai kotoa pē ʻEmeni. Mou fakamālō kia Sihova.
