1God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
1Ein Psalm Davids, da er war in der Wüste Juda. Gott, du bist mein Gott; frühe wache ich zu dir. Es dürstet meine Seele nach dir; mein Fleisch verlangt nach dir in einem trockenen und dürren Land, wo kein Wasser ist.
2So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.
2Daselbst sehe ich nach dir in deinem Heiligtum, wollte gerne schauen deine Macht und Ehre.
3Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you.
3Denn deine Güte ist besser denn Leben; meine Lippen preisen dich.
4So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name.
4Daselbst wollte ich dich gerne loben mein Leben lang und meine Hände in deinem Namen aufheben.
5My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food. My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,
5Das wäre meines Herzens Freude und Wonne, wenn ich dich mit fröhlichem Munde loben sollte.
6when I remember you on my bed, and think about you in the night watches.
6Wenn ich mich zu Bette lege, so denke ich an dich; wenn ich erwache, so rede ich von dir.
7For you have been my help. I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.
7Denn du bist mein Helfer, und unter dem Schatten deiner Flügel frohlocke ich.
8My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up.
8Meine Seele hanget dir an; deine rechte Hand erhält mich.
9But those who seek my soul to destroy it shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
9Sie aber stehen nach meiner Seele, mich zu überfallen; sie werden unter die Erde hinunterfahren.
10They shall be given over to the power of the sword. They shall be jackal food.
10Sie werden ins Schwert fallen und den Füchsen zuteil werden.
11But the king shall rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him will praise him, for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be silenced.
11Aber der König freut sich in Gott. Wer bei ihm schwört, wird gerühmt werden; denn die Lügenmäuler sollen verstopft werden.
