1Горе тим, що задумують беззаконностї, і вже на ложах своїх укладають ледаче, щоб довершати все те від ранку, від досьвітку, — тому, що вони чують силу в руках своїх.
1Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
2Забажають ниви, й забирають її, — будинку, й відіймають його; загарбують людину й дім її, чоловіка й його наслїддє.
2And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
3Тим то ось як говорить Господь: От, я задумав, наслати на сей рід лихолїттє, яке ви не здолїєте скинути з ший ваших, і не зможете ходити просто; бо настане час гіркий.
3Therefore thus saith the LORD ; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.
4Того часу зложать про вас приповідку, а в вас плакати муть гірким плачем і промовляти: Ми спустошені зовсїм! пай мого народу відданий чужим; як вернутись йому до мене? поля наші подїлені поміж чужинцїв!
4¶ In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
5Тим же то в тебе не буде нїкого, хто б при замінї (поля) кидав жереб в громадї перед Господом.
5Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD .
6Не пророкуйте, пророки; не пророкуйте їм, щоб не впала на вас безчесть.
6Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.
7О, ви, що себе домом Якововим називаєте! Чи то ж поменшав Дух Господень? Чи такі ж дїла його? Хиба ж слова мої не добродїйні такому, що в справедливостї ходить?
7¶ O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
8Та нарід, що був давно моїм, устав, як ворог; ви з жупаном здираєте й сорочку в тих, що тихо проходять, в тих, що одвертаються від сварки.
8Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.
9Жен мого люду ви пхаєте з хати, де пробували вони з упокоєм, а в дїтей їх ви на все видераєте окрасу мою.
9The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
10Вставайте, втїкайте, ся країна не є вже місцем супокою; за нечисть буде вона опустошена, та й то страшним опустошеннєм.
10Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you , even with a sore destruction.
11Як би який вітрогон придумав брехню та й сказав: Буду про вино та напитки вам пророкувати, то й був би він пророком по смаку тим людям.
11If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying , I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
12Напевно зберу всього тебе, Якове, позбіраю в одно останки Ізраїля, зберу їх до купи, наче вівцї в Восорі, мов би отару в кошарі; аж загуде від безлїку люду.
12¶ I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
13Поперед пійде той, що повалив мури; вони поломлять огорожу, ввійдуть кріз ворота й вийдуть ними, та й царь їх пійде перед ними, а поперед усїх їх — Господь.
13The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
