1มีข่าวว่าในหมู่พวกคุณมีการผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ และเป็นการผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศชนิดที่แม้แต่ในหมู่คนต่างชาติก็ยังไม่พบ คือมีชายคนหนึ่งอยู่กินกับภรรยาของบิดาตน
1It is absolutely heard, that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as the like is not among the heathens; that one should have his father’s wife.
2แต่พวกคุณกลับหยิ่งผยอง ที่จริง พวกคุณควรโศกเศร้า และเอาคนที่ทำเรื่องนี้ออกไปจากหมู่พวกคุณ
2And you are puffed up; and have not rather mourned, that he might be taken away from among you, that hath done this deed.
3แม้ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้อยู่กับพวกคุณทางร่างกาย แต่จิตวิญญาณของข้าพเจ้าอยู่กับพวกคุณ และข้าพเจ้าได้ตัดสินคนที่ทำเรื่องนี้แล้ว ราวกับว่าข้าพเจ้าอยู่ที่นั่นด้วย
3I indeed, absent in body, but present in spirit, have already judged, as though I were present, him that hath so done,
4เมื่อพวกคุณประชุมกันในพระนามของพระเยซูคริสต์ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา โดยมีจิตวิญญาณของข้าพเจ้าร่วมอยู่กับพวกคุณ และมีพลังของพระเยซูคริสต์ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา
4In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, you being gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus;
5จงมอบคนเช่นนั้นให้ซาตาน เพื่อเนื้อหนังของเขาจะถูกทำลาย และจิตวิญญาณของเขาจะได้รับความรอดในวันของพระเยซูองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
5To deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
6การอวดของพวกคุณไม่ดีเลย พวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า เชื้อเพียงเล็กน้อยก็ทำให้แป้งทั้งก้อนฟูขึ้น?
6Your glorying is not good. Know you not that a little leaven corrupteth the whole lump?
7จงกำจัดเชื้อเก่าออกไป เพื่อพวกคุณจะเป็นแป้งก้อนใหม่ เพราะพวกคุณเป็นแป้งไร้เชื้ออยู่แล้ว ที่จริง พระคริสต์ผู้เป็นปัสกาของเราได้ถูกถวายเป็นเครื่องบูชาแทนเราแล้ว
7Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new paste, as you are unleavened. For Christ our pasch is sacrificed.
8ดังนั้น ให้เราฉลองเทศกาล ไม่ใช่ด้วยเชื้อเก่า หรือเชื้อแห่งความมุ่งร้ายและความชั่ว แต่ด้วยขนมปังไร้เชื้อแห่งความจริงใจและความจริง
8Therefore let us feast, not with the old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9ในจดหมายของข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าเขียนบอกพวกคุณว่า อย่าคบหากับคนที่ผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ
9I wrote to you in an epistle, not to keep company with fornicators.
10ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้หมายถึงคนที่ผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศในโลกนี้ทั้งหมด หรือคนโลภ คนกรรโชก หรือคนไหว้รูปเคารพ เพราะถ้าเป็นอย่างนั้น พวกคุณคงต้องออกไปจากโลกนี้
10I mean not with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or the extortioners, or the servers of idols; otherwise you must needs go out of this world.
11แต่ที่ข้าพเจ้าเขียนนั้นหมายถึง อย่าคบหากับใครที่ได้ชื่อว่าเป็นพี่น้อง แต่ยังเป็นคนผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ คนโลภ คนไหว้รูปเคารพ คนใส่ร้าย คนเมาสุรา หรือคนกรรโชก แม้แต่จะกินอาหารร่วมกับคนเช่นนั้นก็อย่าทำ
11But now I have written to you, not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or a server of idols, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner: with such a one, not so much as to eat.
12เพราะข้าพเจ้ามีหน้าที่อะไรที่จะตัดสินคนภายนอก? พวกคุณไม่ใช่หรือที่ต้องตัดสินคนภายใน?
12For what have I to do to judge them that are without? Do not you judge them that are within?
13ส่วนคนภายนอก พระเจ้าทรงตัดสิน “จงกำจัดคนชั่วออกไปจากหมู่พวกคุณ”
13For them that are without, God will judge. Put away the evil one from among yourselves.
