Kadede Kap (Pohnpeian New Testament and Psalms)
Berean Standard Bible
1AKRIPA ap majani on Pauluj: Koe me jaladoklar en kapakaparok ki pein uk. Pauluj ap kapa wei lim a, kadededar pein i:
1Agrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his hand and began his defense:
2I ap peren kidar main nanmarki Akripa, me i pan kapakaparok mo ’mui ran wet duen meakan, me Juj oko pan kin ia la,
2“King Agrippa, I consider myself fortunate to stand before you today to defend myself against all the accusations of the Jews,
3Pwe komui me erekilar en Juj oko ar lamalam o peipeidok kan, i ap poeki re omui, en kotin kanonama mamani ia.
3especially since you are acquainted with all the Jewish customs and controversies. I beg you, therefore, to listen to me patiently.
4Ai wiawia kan arain maur i, me tapida Ierujalem ren jau i kan, Juj akan karoj aja due.
4Surely all the Jews know how I have lived from the earliest days of my youth, among my own people and in Jerusalem.
5Irail me aja ia jan maj kokodo, ma re men kadede ia, me nai kijan pwin kelail en at lamalam, me ad a Parijar.
5They have known me for a long time and can testify, if they are willing, that I lived as a Pharisee, adhering to the strictest sect of our religion.
6Nai ari mi mon kadeik, pweki ai kaporoporeki inau o, me Kot kotiki on jam at akan.
6And now I stand on trial because of my hope in the promise that God made to our fathers,
7Nan i inau o, me at kainok eijokriau kin kaporoporeki, me re pan pwaiki on ar nantion kaudok on Kot ni ran o ni pon. Main nanmarki Akripa iei kaporopor me i pan kila ren Juj oko.
7the promise our twelve tribes are hoping to realize as they earnestly serve God day and night. It is because of this hope, O king, that I am accused by the Jews.
8Da me komail jota kamelele, me Kot kotin kaiajada me melar akan?
8Why would any of you consider it incredible that God raises the dead?
9Maj o i kiki on, me i en wiada meakan, me kaokaoe mar en lejuj en Najaret.
9So then, I too was convinced that I ought to do all I could to oppose the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
10I me i pil wiadar nan Ierujalem; o me jaraui kan toto me I jaliedier on nan imaten murin ai aleer manaman jan ren jamero lapalap akan o irail lao kamelar, nai pil jauaja.
10And that is what I did in Jerusalem. With authority from the chief priests I put many of the saints in prison, and when they were condemned to death, I cast my vote against them.
11I kame irail pan pak toto nan jinakoke kan karoj, o koidon on irail, re en lalaue, o nai linaranar kaualap pa ’rail; i kin kame irail lel on kanim en wai kan.
11I frequently had them punished in the synagogues, and I tried to make them blaspheme. In my raging fury against them, I even went to foreign cities to persecute them.
12A ni ai wiawia mepukat, o kokolan Damajkuj ni manaman en jamero lapalap,
12In this pursuit I was on my way to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests.
13Main nanmarki, nin jauaj i ap kilanadar nani al o marain eu jan nanlan, me linan jan katipin, me jenjereda imp ai o me ian ia kai.
13About noon, O king, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and my companions.
14Kit karoj lao pupedier nani pwel, i ap ronadar nil eu, katitiki on ia ni lokaia en Ipru: Jaul, Jaul da me koe kamekame kin ia? Nan a pan apwal on uk, en tametame tek o.
14We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice say to me in Hebrew, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
15Nai ari idok: Ij komui Main? Kaun o ap kotin majani: Nai lejuj, me koe kin kame.
15‘Who are You, Lord?’ I asked. ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied.
16Koe ari paurida, kajinenda, pwe i me I pwaraki don uk, pwen kajapwil uk ada, pwe koe en papa o jaunkadede men en meakan, me koe kilanada, o meakan, me I pan kapwara don uk.
16‘But get up and stand on your feet. For I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen from Me and what I will show you.
17O l pan dondore jan uk ni pa en aramaj akan o men liki kan me I pan kadar uk wei on,
17I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them
18Pwen kapad pajan maj arail, pwe re en wuki jan rotorot, wuki on marain, o jan ni manaman en Jatan on Kot, pwe re en lapwa jan dip ar akan, o ren ale ar jojo ren me kamakelekele kidar pojon.
18to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me.’
19Ari main nanmarki Akripa, I jota jopeiki on kajanjal en nanlan o.
19So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.
20Pwe maj i padaki on toun Damajkuj o Ierujalem, o jap en ludaa kan, o men liki kan, en kalula o wiiki on Kot, o kapwaiada wan kalula mau.
20First to those in Damascus and Jerusalem, then to everyone in the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I declared that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds worthy of their repentance.
21Nan i me Juj akan jaik ia kidi nan im en kaudok o, o re jon kame ia la.
21For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple courts and tried to kill me.
22Ari jo, en Kot a kotin ieian ia, me i mimieki lao lel ran wet, padapadaki me tikitik o me laud akan, o jota me i inda, i eta, me jaukop akan o Mojej pil majanier, me pan wiaui:
22But I have had God’s help to this day, and I stand here to testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen:
23leteten, Krijtuj en kamekam, o me a pan men maj en me pan iajada jan ren me melar akan, o padaki on toun wei o pil on men liki kan duen marain o.
23that the Christ would suffer, and as the first to rise from the dead, would proclaim light to our people and to the Gentiles.”
24A ni a kapun kila mepukat, pein i Pejtuj ap nil laudeda majani: Pauluj, koe iakalar! om jukujukul toto me kapwepwe uk adar.
24At this stage of Paul’s defense, Festus exclaimed in a loud voice, “You are insane, Paul! Your great learning is driving you to madness!”
25A Pauluj kotin majani: I jota iakalar main ijou Pejtuj, a kin kida kajoi melel o pun.
25But Paul answered, “I am not insane, most excellent Festus; I am speaking words of truth and sobriety.
26Pwe nanmarki kotin mani duen mepukat; i me i pil aima padapadakieki on i, pwe i aja, jota meakot, me a jota kotin ereki, pwe kaidin waja rir, me mepukat wiauier.
26For the king knows about these matters, and I can speak freely to him. I am confident that none of this has escaped his notice, because it was not done in a corner.
27Nanmarki Akripa, komui pojon jaukop akan? I aja, me komui kin pojon.
27King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you do.”
28Akripa ap majani on Pauluj: Me tar kij, a komui pan kainon on ia en jaulanala.
28Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Can you persuade me in such a short time to become a Christian?”
29Pauluj majani: I nonki on Kot, me komui o karoj, me roneron ia ran wet, en dueta nai, a iermen jal mata pot et.
29“Short time or long,” Paul replied, “I wish to God that not only you but all who hear me this day may become what I am, except for these chains.”
30Nanmarki, o kopina, o Pernije, o me ian irail kaipokedi waja o, ap kotida,
30Then the king and the governor rose, along with Bernice and those seated with them.
31O kelepala, ap kapakaparok nan pun ar mamajani: Aramaj men et jota kin wiada me war on kamela de jalidi.
31On their way out, they said to one another, “This man has done nothing worthy of death or imprisonment.”
32Akripa ap majani on Pejtuj: Aramaj men et pan lapwada, ma a jota dorolan Jija.
32And Agrippa said to Festus, “This man could have been released if he had not appealed to Caesar.”
