1اینک خداوند زمین را خالی و ویران می کند، و آن را واژگون ساخته، ساکنانش را پراکنده می‌سازد.
1Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
2و مثل قوم، مثل کاهن و مثل بنده، مثل آقایش و مثل کنیز، مثل خاتونش و مثل مشتری، مثل فروشنده و مثل قرض دهنده، مثل قرض گیرنده و مثل سودخوار، مثل سود دهنده خواهد بود.
2And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor.
3و زمین بالکل خالی و بالکل غارت خواهد شد زیرا خداوند این سخن را گفته است.
3The earth shall be utterly emptied, and clean despoiled; for the LORD hath spoken this word.
4زمین ماتم می‌کند و پژمرده می‌شود. ربع مسکون کاهیده و پژمرده می‌گردد، شریفان اهل زمین کاهیده می‌شوند.
4The earth fainteth and fadeth away, the world faileth and fadeth away, the lofty people of the earth do fail.
5زمین زیرساکنانش ملوث می‌شود زیرا که از شرایع تجاوزنموده و فرایض را تبدیل کرده و عهد جاودانی راشکسته‌اند.
5The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statute, broken the everlasting covenant.
6بنابراین لعنت، جهان را فانی کرده است و ساکنانش سزا یافته‌اند لهذا ساکنان زمین سوخته شده‌اند و مردمان، بسیار کم باقی‌مانده‌اند.
6Therefore hath a curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are found guilty; therefore the inhabitants of the earth waste away, and men are left few.
7شیره انگور ماتم می‌گیرد و مو کاهیده می‌گردد وتمامی شاددلان آه می‌کشند.
7The new wine faileth, the vine fadeth; all the merry-hearted do sigh.
8شادمانی دفها تلف شده، آواز عشرت کنندگان باطل و شادمانی بربطها ساکت خواهد شد.
8The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.
9شراب را با سرودهانخواهند آشامید و مسکرات برای نوشندگانش تلخ خواهد شد.
9They drink not wine with a song; strong drink is bitter to them that drink it.
10قریه خرابه منهدم می‌شود وهر خانه بسته می‌گردد که کسی داخل آن نتواندشد.
10Broken down is the city of wasteness; every house is shut up, that none may come in.
11غوغایی برای شراب در کوچه‌ها است. هرگونه شادمانی تاریک گردیده و سرور زمین رفع شده است.
11There is a crying in the streets amidst the wine; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.
12ویرانی در شهر باقی است ودروازه هایش به هلاکت خرد شده است.
12In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten unto ruin.
13زیرا که در وسط زمین در میان قوم هایش چنین خواهدشد مثل تکانیدن زیتون و مانند خوشه هایی که بعد از چیدن انگور باقی می‌ماند.
13For thus shall it be in the midst of the earth, among the peoples, as at the beating of an olive-tree, as at the gleanings when the vintage is done.
14اینان آواز خود را بلند کرده، ترنم خواهندنمود و درباره کبریایی خداوند از دریا صداخواهند زد.
14Those yonder lift up their voice, they sing for joy; for the majesty of the LORD they shout from the sea:
15از این جهت خداوند را در بلادمشرق و نام یهوه خدای اسرائیل را درجزیره های دریا تمجید نمایید.
15'Therefore glorify ye the LORD in the regions of light, even the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, in the isles of the sea.'
16از کرانهای زمین سرودها را شنیدیم که عادلان را جلال باد. اما گفتم: وا حسرتا، وا حسرتا، وای بر من! خیانت کاران خیانت ورزیده، خیانت کاران به شدت خیانت ورزیده‌اند.
16From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: 'Glory to the righteous.' But I say: I waste away, I waste away, woe is me! The treacherous deal treacherously; yea, the treacherous deal very treacherously.
17ای ساکن زمین ترس و حفره و دام بر تو است.
17Terror, and the pit, and the trap, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
18و واقع خواهد شد که هرکه از آواز ترس بگریزد به حفره خواهد افتاد وهر‌که از میان حفره برآید گرفتار دام خواهد شدزیرا که روزنه های علیین باز شده و اساسهای زمین متزلزل می‌باشد.
18And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the terror shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the trap; for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth do shake;
19زمین بالکل منکسرشده. زمین تمام از هم پاشیده و زمین به شدت متحرک گشته است.
19The earth is broken, broken down, the earth is crumbled in pieces, the earth trembleth and tottereth;
20زمین مثل مستان افتان وخیزان است و مثل سایه بان به چپ و راست متحرک و گناهش بر آن سنگین است. پس افتاده است که بار دیگر نخواهد برخاست.
20The earth reeleth to and fro like a drunken man, and swayeth to and fro as a lodge; and the transgression thereof is heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again.
21و در آن روز واقع خواهد شد که خداوندگروه شریفان را بر مکان بلند ایشان و پادشاهان زمین را بر زمین سزا خواهد داد.
21And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD will punish the host of the high heaven on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
22و ایشان مثل اسیران در چاه جمع خواهند شد و درزندان بسته خواهند گردید و بعد از روزهای بسیار، ایشان طلبیده خواهند شد.
22And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the dungeon, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be punished.
23و ماه خجل و آفتاب رسوا خواهد گشت زیرا که یهوه صبایوت در کوه صهیون و در اورشلیم و به حضور مشایخ خویش، با جلال سلطنت خواهدنمود.
23Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for the LORD of hosts will reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before His elders shall be Glory.
