1And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, that were beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, that were by the sea, heard how that the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel, until they were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.
1约旦河 西 亚摩利 人的诸王和靠海 迦南 人的诸王，听见耶和华在 以色列 人前面使 约旦河 的水干了，等到我们过去，他们的心因 以色列 人的缘故就消化了，不再有胆气。
2At that time the LORD said unto Joshua: 'Make thee knives of flint, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.'
2那时，耶和华吩咐 约书亚 说：「你制造火石刀，第二次给 以色列 人行割礼。」
3And Joshua made him knives of flint, and circumcised the children of Israel at Gibeath-ha-araloth.
3约书亚 就制造了火石刀，在「除皮山」那里给 以色列 人行割礼。
4And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: all the people that came forth out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came forth out of Egypt.
4约书亚 行割礼的缘故，是因为从 埃及 出来的众民，就是一切能打仗的男丁，出了 埃及 以后，都死在旷野的路上。
5For all the people that came out were circumcised; but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, had not been circumcised.
5因为出来的众民都受过割礼；惟独出 埃及 以后、在旷野的路上所生的众民都没有受过割礼。
6For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the nation, even the men of war that came forth out of Egypt, were consumed, because they hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD; unto whom the LORD swore that He would not let them see the land which the LORD swore unto their fathers that He would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
6以色列 人在旷野走了四十年，等到国民，就是出 埃及 的兵丁，都消灭了，因为他们没有听从耶和华的话。耶和华曾向他们起誓，必不容他们看见耶和华向他们列祖起誓、应许赐给我们的地，就是流奶与蜜之地。
7And He raised up their children in their stead; them did Joshua circumcise; for they were uncircumcised, because they had not been circumcised by the way.
7他们的子孙，就是耶和华所兴起来接续他们的，都没有受过割礼；因为在路上没有给他们行割礼， 约书亚 这才给他们行了。
8And it came to pass, when all the nation were circumcised, every one of them, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole.
8国民都受完了割礼，就住在营中自己的地方，等到痊愈了。
9And the LORD said unto Joshua: 'This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you.' Wherefore the name of that place was called Gilgal, unto this day.
9耶和华对 约书亚 说：「我今日将 埃及 的羞辱从你们身上滚去了。」因此，那地方名叫 吉甲 ，直到今日。
10And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal; and they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.
10以色列 人在 吉甲 安营。正月十四日晚上，在 耶利哥 的平原守逾越节。
11And they did eat of the produce of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes and parched corn, in the selfsame day.
11逾越节的次日，他们就吃了那地的出产；正当那日吃无酵饼和烘的谷。
12And the manna ceased on the morrow, after they had eaten of the produce of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
12他们吃了那地的出产，第二日吗哪就止住了， 以色列 人也不再有吗哪了。那一年，他们却吃 迦南 地的出产。
13And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand; and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him: 'Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?'
13约书亚 靠近 耶利哥 的时候，举目观看，不料，有一个人手里有拔出来的刀，对面站立。 约书亚 到他那里，问他说：「你是帮助我们呢，是帮助我们敌人呢？」
14And he said: 'Nay, but I am captain of the host of the LORD; I am now come.' And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said unto him: 'What saith my lord unto his servant?'
14他回答说：「不是的，我来是要作耶和华军队的元帅。」 约书亚 就俯伏在地下拜，说：「我主有什么话吩咐仆人。」
15And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua: 'Put off thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy.' And Joshua did so.
15耶和华军队的元帅对 约书亚 说：「把你脚上的鞋脱下来，因为你所站的地方是圣的。」 约书亚 就照着行了。
