Job 37

Baibala Hemolele (Hawaiian Bible, 1868 revision)
1At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of its place.
1NO keia mea hoi haalulu kuu naau, A nauwe ae mai kona wahi aku.
2Hear attentively the noise of His voice, and the sound that goeth out of His mouth.
2E hoolohe pono i ka poha ana o kona leo, A me ka halulu e puka ana mai kona waha mai.
3He sendeth it forth under the whole heaven, and His lightning unto the ends of the earth.
3Malalo o ka lani a pau nana no ia i nou aku, A o kona malamalama i na welau o ka honua.
4After it a voice roareth; He thundereth with the voice of His majesty; and He stayeth them not when His voice is heard.
4Mahope o ia mea, poha mai ka leo; Hoohekili mai ia me kona leo mana; Aole ia e hoopaa ia lakou i loheia'i kona leo.
5God thundereth marvellously with His voice; great things doeth He, which we cannot comprehend.
5Hoohekili kupanaha mai la ke Akua me kona leo; Hana no ia i na mea nui, aole e ike maopopo ia.
6For He saith to the snow: 'Fall thou on the earth'; likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of His mighty rain.
6No ka mea, ua i aku ia i ka hau, E kau ma ka honua, A i ka ua liilii, a me ka ua nui o kona ikaika.
7He sealeth up the hand of every man, that all men whom He hath made may know it.
7Hoopaa aku ia i ka lima o na kanaka a pau, I ike na kanaka a pau i kana haua.
8Then the beasts go into coverts, and remain in their dens.
8A komo na holoholona iloko o na lua, A noho ma ko lakou mau wahi.
9Out of the Chamber cometh the storm; and cold out of the north.
9Mai ke kukulu hema i hele mai ka puahiohio, A mai ke kukulu akau ke anu.
10By the breath of God ice is given, and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
10Mai ka hanu o ke Akua i haawiia mai ka wai paa: A o ka palahalaha o na wai, ua hoopaaia.
11Yea, He ladeth the thick cloud with moister, He spreadeth abroad the cloud of His lightning;
11O ka wa malie hoi, ua kipaku ia i ke ao: Ua hoohehee kona malamalama i ka ohu:
12And they are turned round about by His guidance, that they may do whatsoever He commandeth them upon the face of the habitable world:
12A ua hoohuliia'ku ia a puni ma kona manao; I hana aku ai lakou i na mea a pau ana i kauoha mai ai, Ma ke alo o ka honua a puni.
13Whether it be for correction, or for His earth, or for mercy, that He cause it to come.
13Ina no ka laau hahau, ina no kona aina, Ina no ke aloha, nana no ia i hoopuka mai.
14Hearken unto this, O Job; stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
14E hoolohe mai oe, e Ioba, i keia; E ku malie, a e noonoo i na hana kupanaha a ke Akua.
15Dost thou know how God enjoineth them, and causeth the lightning of His cloud to shine?
15Ua ike anei oe i ka hooponopono ana o ke Akua ia lakou, A hoopuka mai i ka malamalama o kona ao?
16Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of Him who is perfect in knowledge?
16Ua ike anei i na kaupaona ana o na ao, I na hana kupanaha o ka mea hemolele i ka ike?
17Thou whose garments are warm, when the earth is still by reason of the south wind;
17A pehea hoi i mahana ai kou kapa, I ka wa i hoomalie mai ai oia i ka aina i ka makani kukulu hema?
18Canst thou with Him spread out the sky, which is strong as a molten mirror?
18E hiki anei ia oe me ia ke hohola aku i ke aouli, He ikaika, e like me ke aniani i hooheheeia?
19Teach us what we shall say unto Him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
19E hoike mai oe ia makou i ka mea a makou e olelo aku ai ia ia; Aole makou e olelo aku, no ka pouli.
20Shall it be told Him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?
20E haiia aku anei ia ia, ke olelo aku au? Ina e olelo aku ke kanaka, e aleia auanei oia.
21And now men see not the light which is bright in the skies; but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
21Ano aole lakou i ike i ka malamalama alohilohi iloko o na ao; A hele ae la ka makani a hoomaemae ia lakou.
22Out of the north cometh golden splendour, about God is terrible majesty.
22Mai ke kukulu akau ke alohilohi gula i hele mai ai; Aia i ke Akua ka nani weliweli.
23The Almighty, whom we cannot find out, is excellent in power, yet to judgment and plenteous justice He doeth no violence.
23O ka Mea mana, aole e loaa ia kakou ia; Ua hoonui i ka ikaika, a i ka pono, a ua nui hoi i ka lokomaikai; Aole ia e hookaumaha.
24Men do therefore fear Him; He regardeth not any that are wise of heart.
24A makau na kanaka ia ia; Aole ia e maliu mai i ka poe naauao a pau.
