1And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
1耶和华的话临到我说：
2'Son of man, what is the vine-tree more than any tree, the vine branch which grew up among the trees of the forest?
2「人子啊，葡萄树比别样树有什么强处？葡萄枝比众树枝有什么好处？
3Shall wood be taken thereof to make any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?
3其上可以取木料做什么工用，可以取来做钉子挂什么器皿吗？
4Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire hath devoured both the ends of it, and the midst of it is singed; is it profitable for any work?
4看哪，已经抛在火中当作柴烧，火既烧了两头，中间也被烧了，还有益于工用吗？
5Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work; how much less, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is singed, shall it yet be meet for any work?
5完全的时候尚且不合乎什么工用，何况被火烧坏，还能合乎什么工用吗？」
6Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: As the vine-tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so do I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
6所以，主耶和华如此说：「众树以内的葡萄树，我怎样使它在火中当柴，也必照样待 耶路撒冷 的居民。
7And I will set My face against them; out of the fire are they come forth, and the fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set My face against them.
7我必向他们变脸；他们虽从火中出来，火却要烧灭他们。我向他们变脸的时候，你们就知道我是耶和华。
8And I will make the land desolate, because they have acted treacherously, saith the Lord GOD.'
8我必使地土荒凉，因为他们行事干犯我。这是主耶和华说的。」
