1In the second year of Joash son of Joahaz king of Israel began Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah to reign.
1以色列 王 约哈斯 的儿子 约阿施 第二年， 犹大 王 约阿施 的儿子 亚玛谢 登基。
2He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
2他登基的时候年二十五岁，在 耶路撒冷 作王二十九年。他母亲名叫 约耶但 ，是 耶路撒冷 人。
3And he did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, yet not like David his father; he did according to all that Joash his father had done.
3亚玛谢 行耶和华眼中看为正的事，但不如他祖 大卫 ，乃效法他父 约阿施 一切所行的；
4Howbeit the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and offered in the high places.
4只是邱坛还没有废去，百姓仍在那里献祭烧香。
5And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he slew his servants who had slain the king his father;
5国一坚定，就把杀他父王的臣仆杀了，
6but the children of the murderers he put not to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as the LORD commanded saying: 'The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.'
6却没有治死杀王之人的儿子，是照 摩西 律法书上耶和华所吩咐的说：「不可因子杀父，也不可因父杀子，各人要为本身的罪而死。」
7He slew of Edom in the Valley of Salt ten thousand, and took Sela by war, and called the name of it Joktheel, unto this day.
7亚玛谢 在 盐谷 杀了 以东 人一万，又攻取了 西拉 ，改名叫 约帖 ，直到今日。
8Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying: 'Come, let us look one another in the face.'
8那时， 亚玛谢 差遣使者去见 耶户 的孙子 约哈斯 的儿子 以色列 王 约阿 施 ，说：「你来，我们二人相见 于战场 。」
9And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying: 'The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying: Give thy daughter to my son to wife; and there passed by the wild beasts that were in Lebanon, and trod down the thistle.
9以色列 王 约阿施 差遣使者去见 犹大 王 亚玛谢 ，说：「 黎巴嫩 的蒺藜差遣使者去见 黎巴嫩 的香柏树，说：将你的女儿给我儿子为妻。后来 黎巴嫩 有一只野兽经过，把蒺藜践踏了。
10Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and will thy heart lift thee up? glory therein, and remain at home; for why shouldest thou meddle with evil, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
10你打败了 以东 人就心高气傲，你以此为荣耀，在家里安居就罢了，为何要惹祸，使自己和 犹大 国一同败亡呢？」
11But Amaziah would not hear. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth-shemesh, which belongeth to Judah.
11亚玛谢 却不肯听这话。于是 以色列 王 约阿施 上来，在 犹大 的 伯·示麦 与 犹大 王 亚玛谢 相见 于战场 。
12And Judah was put to the worse before Israel; and they fled every man to his tent.
12犹大 人败在 以色列 人面前，各自逃回家里去了。
13And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
13以色列 王 约阿施 在 伯·示麦 擒住 亚哈谢 的孙子、 约阿施 的儿子 犹大 王 亚玛谢 ，就来到 耶路撒冷 ，拆毁 耶路撒冷 的城墙，从 以法莲 门直到 角门 共四百肘，
14And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.
14又将耶和华殿里与王宫府库里所有的金银和器皿都拿了去，并带人去为质，就回 撒马利亚 去了。
15Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15约阿施 其余所行的事和他的勇力，并与 犹大 王 亚玛谢 争战的事，都写在 以色列 诸王记上。
16And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.
16约阿施 与他列祖同睡，葬在 撒马利亚 ， 以色列 诸王的坟地里。他儿子 耶罗波安 接续他作王。
17And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.
17以色列 王 约哈斯 的儿子 约阿施 死后， 犹大 王 约阿施 的儿子 亚玛谢 又活了十五年。
18Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
18亚玛谢 其余的事都写在 犹大 列王记上。
19And they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.
19耶路撒冷 有人背叛 亚玛谢 ，他就逃到 拉吉 ；叛党却打发人到 拉吉 将他杀了。
20And they brought him upon horses; and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
20人就用马将他的尸首驮到 耶路撒冷 ，葬在 大卫城 他列祖的坟地里。
21And all the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.
21犹大 众民立 亚玛谢 的儿子 亚撒利雅 接续他父作王，那时他年十六岁。
22He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
22亚玛谢 与他列祖同睡之后， 亚撒利雅 收回 以拉他 仍归 犹大 ，又重新修理。
23In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years.
23犹大 王 约阿施 的儿子 亚玛谢 十五年， 以色列 王 约阿施 的儿子 耶罗波安 在 撒马利亚 登基，作王四十一年。
24And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.
24他行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，不离开 尼八 的儿子 耶罗波安 使 以色列 人陷在罪里的一切罪。
25He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath unto the sea of the Arabah, according to the word of the LORD, the God of Israel, which He spoke by the hand of His servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was of Gath-hepher.
25他收回 以色列 边界之地，从 哈马口 直到 亚拉巴海 ，正如耶和华— 以色列 的 神借他仆人 迦特希弗 人 亚米太 的儿子先知 约拿 所说的。
26For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter; for there was none shut up nor left at large, neither was there any helper for Israel.
26因为耶和华看见 以色列 人甚是艰苦，无论困住的、自由的都没有了，也无人帮助 以色列 人。
27And the LORD said not that He would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven; but He saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
27耶和华并没有说要将 以色列 的名从天下涂抹，乃借 约阿施 的儿子 耶罗波安 拯救他们。
28Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, for Judah in Israel, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
28耶罗波安 其余的事，凡他所行的和他的勇力，他怎样争战，怎样收回 大马士革 和 先前属 犹大 的 哈马 归 以色列 ，都写在 以色列 诸王记上。
29And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zechariah his son reigned in his stead.
29耶罗波安 与他列祖 以色列 诸王同睡。他儿子 撒迦利雅 接续他作王。
