1And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had made a raid upon the South, and upon Ziklag, and had smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
1第三日， 大衛 和跟隨他的人到了 洗革拉 。 亞瑪力 人已經侵奪南地，攻破 洗革拉 ，用火焚燒，
2and had taken captive the women and all that were therein, both small and great; they slew not any, but carried them off, and went their way.
2擄了城內的婦女和其中的大小人口，卻沒有殺一個，都帶着走了。
3And when David and his men came to the city, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
3大衛 和跟隨他的人到了那城，不料，城已燒毀，他們的妻子兒女都被擄去了。
4Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
4大衛 和跟隨他的人就放聲大哭，直哭得沒有氣力。
5And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.

6And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters; but David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.
6大衛 甚是焦急，因眾人為自己的兒女苦惱，說：「要用石頭打死他。」 大衛 卻倚靠耶和華－他的上帝，心裏堅固。
7And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech: 'I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod.' And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
7大衛 對 亞希米勒 的兒子祭司 亞比亞他 說：「請你將以弗得拿過來。」 亞比亞他 就將以弗得拿到 大衛 面前。
8And David inquired of the LORD, saying: 'Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them?' And He answered him: 'Pursue; for thou shalt surely overtake them, and shalt without fail recover all.'
8大衛 求問耶和華說：「我追趕敵軍，追得上追不上呢？」耶和華說：「你可以追，必追得上，都救得回來。」
9So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.
9於是， 大衛 和跟隨他的六百人來到 比梭溪 ；有不能前去的就留在那裏。
10But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.
10大衛 卻帶着四百人往前追趕，有二百人疲乏，不能過 比梭溪 ，所以留在那裏。
11And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they gave him water to drink;
11這四百人在田野遇見一個 埃及 人，就帶他到 大衛 面前，給他餅吃，給他水喝，
12and they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins; and when he had eaten, his spirit came back to him; for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
12又給他一塊無花果餅，兩個葡萄餅。他吃了，就精神復原；因為他三日三夜沒有吃餅，沒有喝水。
13And David said unto him: 'To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou?' And he said: 'I am a young Egyptian, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.
13大衛 問他說：「你是屬誰的？你是哪裏的人？」他回答說：「我是 埃及 的少年人，是 亞瑪力 人的奴僕；因我三日前患病，我主人就把我撇棄了。
14We made a raid upon the South of the Cherethites, and upon that which belongeth to Judah, and upon the South of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.'
14我們侵奪了 基利提 的南方和屬 猶大 的地，並 迦勒 地的南方，又用火燒了 洗革拉 。」
15And David said to him: 'Wilt thou bring me down to this troop?' And he said: 'Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me up into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this troop.'
15大衛 問他說：「你肯領我們到敵軍那裏不肯？」他回答說：「你要向我指着上帝起誓，不殺我，也不將我交在我主人手裏，我就領你下到敵軍那裏。」
16And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad over all the ground, eating and drinking, and feasting, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
16那人領 大衛 下去，見他們散在地上，吃喝跳舞，因為從 非利士 地和 猶大 地所擄來的財物甚多。
17And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day; and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, who rode upon camels and fled.
17大衛 從黎明直到次日晚上，擊殺他們，除了四百騎駱駝的少年人之外，沒有一個逃脫的。
18And David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken; and David rescued his two wives.
18亞瑪力 人所擄去的財物， 大衛 全都奪回，並救回他的兩個妻來。
19And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them; David brought back all.
19凡 亞瑪力 人所擄去的，無論大小、兒女、財物， 大衛 都奪回來，沒有失落一個。
20And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drove before those other cattle, and said: 'This is David's spoil.'
20大衛 所奪來的牛群羊群，跟隨他的人趕在 原有的 群畜前邊，說：「這是 大衛 的掠物。」
21And David came to the two hundred men, who were so faint that they could not follow David, whom also they had made to abide at the brook Besor; and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him; and when David came near to the people, he saluted them.
21大衛 到了那疲乏不能跟隨、留在 比梭溪 的二百人那裏。他們出來迎接 大衛 並跟隨的人。 大衛 前來問他們安。
22Then answered all the wicked men and base fellows, of those that went with David, and said: 'Because they went not with us, we will not give them aught of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.'
22跟隨 大衛 人中的惡人和匪類說：「這些人既然沒有和我們同去，我們所奪的財物就不分給他們，只將他們各人的妻子兒女給他們，使他們帶去就是了。」
23Then said David: 'Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given unto us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the troop that came against us into our hand.
23大衛 說：「弟兄們，耶和華所賜給我們的，不可不分給他們；因為他保佑我們，將那攻擊我們的敵軍交在我們手裏。
24And who will hearken unto you in this matter? for as is the share of him that goeth down to the battle, so shall be the share of him that tarrieth by the baggage; they shall share alike.'
24這事誰肯依從你們呢？上陣的得多少，看守器具的也得多少；應當大家平分。」
25And it was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel unto this day.
25大衛 定此為 以色列 的律例典章，從那日直到今日。
26And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying: 'Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD';
26大衛 到了 洗革拉 ，從掠物中取些送給他朋友 猶大 的長老，說：「這是從耶和華仇敵那裏奪來的，送你們為禮物。」
27to them that were in Beth-el, and to them that were in Ramoth of the South, and to them that were in Jattir;
27他送禮物給住 伯特利 的，南地 拉末 的， 雅提珥 的；
28and to them that were in Aroer, and to them that were in Siphmoth, and to them that were in Eshtemoa;
28住 亞羅珥 的， 息末 的， 以實提莫 的；
29and to them that were in Racal, and to them that were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to them that were in the cities of the Kenites;
29住 拉哈勒 的， 耶拉篾 各城的， 基尼 各城的；
30and to them that were in Hormah, and to them that were in Bor-ashan, and to them that were in Athach;
30住 何珥瑪 的， 歌拉珊 的， 亞撻 的；
31and to them that were in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men were wont to haunt.
31住 希伯崙 的，並 大衛 和跟隨他的人素來所到之處的人。
