1主はこう言われる。 「あなたがたの母を離縁した、その離縁状はどこにあるのか。 わたしは債権者のだれにあなたがたを売ったのか。 見よ、あなたがたは自分たちの咎のために売られ、 あなたがたの背きのために、母は離縁された。
1This is what the LORD says: “Where is your mother’s certificate of divorce with which I sent her away? Or to which of My creditors did I sell you? Look, you were sold for your iniquities, and for your transgressions your mother was sent away.
2わたしが来た時、なぜだれもいなかったのか。 わたしが呼んだ時、なぜ答える者がいなかったのか。 わたしの手は、贖うことができないほど短くなったのか。 わたしには救い出す力がないのか。 見よ、わたしが叱ると海は干上がる。 わたしは川々を荒野とする。 水がないため、その魚は悪臭を放ち、 渇きのために死ぬ。
2Why was no one there when I arrived? Why did no one answer when I called? Is My hand too short to redeem you? Or do I lack the strength to deliver you? Behold, My rebuke dries up the sea; I turn the rivers into a desert; the fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst.
3わたしは天を暗闇で覆い、 粗布をその覆いとする。」
3I clothe the heavens in black and make sackcloth their covering.”
4主なる神は、教えを受けた者の舌を私に与え、 疲れた者を言葉で支えるすべを教えられた。 朝ごとに私を目覚めさせ、 教えを受ける者のように聞く耳を開かれる。
4The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of discipleship, to sustain the weary with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.
5主なる神は私の耳を開かれた。 私は背かず、 後ろへ退かなかった。
5The Lord GOD has opened My ears, and I have not been rebellious, nor have I turned back.
6私は打つ者たちに背を差し出し、 ひげを抜く者たちに頬を差し出した。 辱めとつばから顔を隠さなかった。
6I offered My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who tore out My beard. I did not hide My face from scorn and spittle.
7主なる神が私を助けてくださる。 それゆえ、私は辱められなかった。 それゆえ、私は顔を火打ち石のようにした。 私は失望しないと知っている。
7Because the Lord GOD helps Me, I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set My face like flint, and I know that I will not be put to shame.
8私を義と認める方は近くにおられる。 だれが私を訴えるのか。 われわれはともに立とう。 私と争う者はだれか。 私のもとに近づけ。
8The One who vindicates Me is near. Who will dare to contend with Me? Let us confront each other! Who has a case against Me? Let him approach Me!
9見よ、主なる神が私を助けてくださる。 だれが私を罪に定めるのか。 見よ、彼らはみな衣のように古び、 蛾が彼らを食い尽くす。
9Surely the Lord GOD helps Me. Who is there to condemn Me? See, they will all wear out like a garment; the moths will devour them.
10あなたがたのうち、だれが主を恐れ、 そのしもべの声に聞き従うのか。 闇の中を歩み、 光を持たない者は、 主の御名に信頼し、 自分の神に頼れ。
10Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the voice of His Servant? Who among you walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD; let him lean on his God.
11見よ、火をたき、 自分の周りにたいまつを並べる者たちよ。 自分たちの火の炎の中を歩み、 自分たちがともしたたいまつの間を歩め。 わたしの手からあなたがたが受けるものはこれである。 あなたがたは苦しみのうちに横たわる。
11Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who array yourselves with firebrands, walk in the light of your fire and of the firebrands you have lit! This is what you will receive from My hand: You will lie down in a place of torment.
