1Voici le livre de la postérité d’Adam. Lorsque Dieu créa l’homme, il le fit à la ressemblance de Dieu.
1This is the book of the generation of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him to the likeness of God.
2Il créa l’homme et la femme, il les bénit, et il les appela du nom d’homme, lorsqu’ils furent créés.
2He created them male and female; and blessed them: and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3Adam, âgé de cent trente ans, engendra un fils à sa ressemblance, selon son image, et il lui donna le nom de Seth.
3And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot a son to his own image and likeness, and called his name Seth.
4Les jours d’Adam, après la naissance de Seth, furent de huit cents ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
4And the days of Adam, after he begot Seth, were eight hundred years: and he begot sons and daughters.
5Tous les jours qu’Adam vécut furent de neuf cent trente ans; puis il mourut.
5And all the time that Adam lived came to nine hundred and thirty years, and he died.
6Seth, âgé de cent cinq ans, engendra Énosch.
6Seth also lived a hundred and five years, and begot Enos.
7Seth vécut, après la naissance d’Énosch, huit cent sept ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
7And Seth lived after he begot Enos, eight hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters.
8Tous les jours de Seth furent de neuf cent douze ans; puis il mourut.
8And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died.
9Énosch, âgé de quatre-vingt-dix ans, engendra Kénan.
9And Enos lived ninety years, and begot Cainan.
10Énosch vécut, après la naissance de Kénan, huit cent quinze ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
10After whose birth he lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and begot sons and daughters.
11Tous les jours d’Énosch furent de neuf cent cinq ans; puis il mourut.
11And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years, and he died.
12Kénan, âgé de soixante-dix ans, engendra Mahalaleel.
12And Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Malaleel.
13Kénan vécut, après la naissance de Mahalaleel, huit cent quarante ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
13And Cainan lived after he begot Malaleel, eight hundred and forty years, and begot sons and daughters.
14Tous les jours de Kénan furent de neuf cent dix ans; puis il mourut.
14And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years, and he died.
15Mahalaleel, âgé de soixante-cinq ans, engendra Jéred.
15And Malaleel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared.
16Mahalaleel vécut, après la naissance de Jéred, huit cent trente ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
16And Malaleel lived after he begot Jared, eight hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters.
17Tous les jours de Mahalaleel furent de huit cent quatre-vingt-quinze ans; puis il mourut.
17And all the days of Malaleel were eight hundred and ninety-five years, and he died.
18Jéred, âgé de cent soixante-deux ans, engendra Hénoc.
18And Jared lived a hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Henoch.
19Jéred vécut, après la naissance d’Hénoc, huit cents ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
19And Jared lived after he begot Henoch, eight hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.
20Tous les jours de Jéred furent de neuf cent soixante-deux ans; puis il mourut.
20And all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years, and he died.
21Hénoc, âgé de soixante-cinq ans, engendra Metuschélah.
21And Henoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Mathusala.
22Hénoc, après la naissance de Metuschélah, marcha avec Dieu trois cents ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
22And Henoch walked with God: and lived after he begot Mathusala, three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.
23Tous les jours d’Hénoc furent de trois cent soixante-cinq ans.
23And all the days of Henoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.
24Hénoc marcha avec Dieu; puis il ne fut plus, parce que Dieu le prit.
24And he walked with God, and was seen no more: because God took him.
25Metuschélah, âgé de cent quatre-vingt-sept ans, engendra Lémec.
25And Mathusala lived a hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech.
26Metuschélah vécut, après la naissance de Lémec, sept cent quatre-vingt-deux ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
26And Mathusala lived after he begot Lamech, seven hundred and eighty-two years, and begot sons and daughters.
27Tous les jours de Metuschélah furent de neuf cent soixante-neuf ans; puis il mourut.
27And all the days of Mathusala were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died.
28Lémec, âgé de cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, engendra un fils.
28And Lamech lived a hundred and eighty-two years, and begot a son.
29Il lui donna le nom de Noé, en disant: Celui-ci nous consolera de nos fatigues et du travail pénible de nos mains, provenant de cette terre que l’Éternel a maudite.
29And he called his name Noe, saying: This same shall comfort us from the works and labours of our hands on the earth, which the Lord hath cursed.
30Lémec vécut, après la naissance de Noé, cinq cent quatre-vingt-quinze ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
30And Lamech lived after he begot Noe, five hundred and ninety-five years, and begot sons and daughters.
31Tous les jours de Lémec furent de sept cent soixante-dix sept ans; puis il mourut.
31And all the days of Lamech came to seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and he died.
32Noé, âgé de cinq cents ans, engendra Sem, Cham et Japhet.
32And Noe, when he was five hundred years old, begot Sem, Cham, and Japheth.
