1Unto the end. A psalm for David.
1يَارَبُّ، لِمَاذَا تَقِفُ بَعِيدًا؟ لِمَاذَا تَخْتَفِي فِي أَزْمِنَةِ ٱلضِّيقِ؟
2In the Lord I put my trust: how then do you say to my soul: Get thee away from hence to the mountain like a sparrow?
2فِي كِبْرِيَاءِ ٱلشِّرِّيرِ يَحْتَرِقُ ٱلْمِسْكِينُ. يُؤْخَذُونَ بِٱلْمُؤَامَرَةِ ٱلَّتِي فَكَّرُوا بِهَا.
3For, lo, the wicked have bent their bow; they have prepared their arrows in the quiver; to shoot in the dark the upright of heart.
3لِأَنَّ ٱلشِّرِّيرَ يَفْتَخِرُ بِشَهَوَاتِ نَفْسِهِ، وَٱلْخَاطِفُ يُجَدِّفُ. يُهِينُ ٱلرَّبَّ.
4For they have destroyed the things which thou hast made: but what has the just man done?
4ٱلشِّرِّيرُ حَسَبَ تَشَامُخِ أَنْفِهِ يَقُولُ: «لَا يُطَالِبُ». كُلُّ أَفْكَارِهِ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ.
5The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven. His eyes look on the poor man: his eyelids examine the sons of men.
5تَثْبُتُ سُبْلُهُ فِي كُلِّ حِينٍ. عَالِيَةٌ أَحْكَامُكَ فَوْقَهُ. كُلُّ أَعْدَائِهِ يَنْفُثُ فِيهِمْ.
6The Lord trieth the just and the wicked: but he that loveth iniquity hateth his own soul.
6قَالَ فِي قَلْبِهِ: «لَا أَتَزَعْزَعُ. مِنْ دَوْرٍ إِلَى دَوْرٍ بِلَا سُوءٍ».
7He shall rain snares upon sinners: fire and brimstone and storms of winds shall be the portion of their cup.
7فَمُهُ مَمْلُوءٌ لَعْنَةً وَغِشًّا وَظُلْمًا. تَحْتَ لِسَانِهِ مَشَقَّةٌ وَإِثْمٌ.
8For the Lord is just, and hath loved justice: his countenance hath beheld righteousness.
8يَجْلِسُ فِي مَكْمَنِ ٱلدِّيَارِ، فِي ٱلْمُخْتَفَيَاتِ يَقْتُلُ ٱلْبَرِيَّ. عَيْنَاهُ تُرَاقِبَانِ ٱلْمِسْكِينَ.

9يَكْمُنُ فِي ٱلْمُخْتَفَى كَأَسَدٍ فِي عِرِّيسِهِ. يَكْمُنُ لِيَخْطَفَ ٱلْمِسْكِينَ. يَخْطَفُ ٱلْمِسْكِينَ بِجَذْبِهِ فِي شَبَكَتِهِ،

10فَتَنْسَحِقُ وَتَنْحَنِي وَتَسْقُطُ ٱلْمَسَاكِينُ بِبَرَاثِنِهِ.

11قَالَ فِي قَلْبِهِ: «إِنَّ ٱللهَ قَدْ نَسِيَ. حَجَبَ وَجْهَهُ. لَا يَرَى إِلَى ٱلْأَبَدِ».

12قُمْ يَارَبُّ. يَا ٱللهُ ٱرْفَعْ يَدَكَ. لَا تَنْسَ ٱلْمَسَاكِينَ.

13لِمَاذَا أَهَانَ ٱلشِّرِّيرُ ٱللهَ؟ لِمَاذَا قَالَ فِي قَلْبِهِ: «لَا تُطَالِبُ»؟

14قَدْ رَأَيْتَ. لِأَنَّكَ تُبْصِرُ ٱلْمَشَقَّةَ وَٱلْغَمَّ لِتُجَازِيَ بِيَدِكَ. إِلَيْكَ يُسَلِّمُ ٱلْمِسْكِينُ أَمْرَهُ. أَنْتَ صِرْتَ مُعِينَ ٱلْيَتِيمِ.

15اِحْطِمْ ذِرَاعَ ٱلْفَاجِرِ. وَٱلشِّرِّيرُ تَطْلُبُ شَرَّهُ وَلَا تَجِدُهُ.

16ٱلرَّبُّ مَلِكٌ إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ وَٱلْأَبَدِ. بَادَتِ ٱلْأُمَمُ مِنْ أَرْضِهِ.

17تَأَوُّهَ ٱلْوُدَعَاءِ قَدْ سَمِعْتَ يَارَبُّ. تُثَبِّتُ قُلُوبَهُمْ. تُمِيلُ أُذُنَكَ

18لِحَقِّ ٱلْيَتِيمِ وَٱلْمُنْسَحِقِ، لِكَيْ لَا يَعُودَ أَيْضًا يَرْعَبُهُمْ إِنْسَانٌ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ.
