1When thou shalt sit to eat with a prince, consider diligently what is set before thy face.
1မင်း နှင့်အတူ ထိုင် ၍ စားသောက် သောအခါ သင့် ရှေ့ မှာ အဘယ် သူရှိသည်ကို စေ့စေ့ဆင်ခြင် လော့။
2And put a knife to thy throat, if it be so that thou have thy soul in thy own power.
2သင် သည် စားကြူး တတ်သောသူ ဖြစ်လျှင် ၊ သင် ၏လည်ချောင်း ကို ထား နှင့် ရွယ် လော့။
3Be not desirous of his meats, in which is the bread of deceit.
3ထိုမင်း ၏ခဲဘွယ် စားဘွယ်တို့ကို အလို မ ရှိနှင့်။ လှည့်စား တတ်သော အစာ ဖြစ်၏။
4Labour not to be rich: but set bounds to thy prudence.
4ငွေ ရတတ် ခြင်းငှါ မ ကြိုးစား နှင့်။ ကိုယ် ဉာဏ် ကို အမှီ မပြုနှင့်။
5Lift not up thy eyes to riches which thou canst not have: because they shall make themselves wings like those of an eagle, and shall fly towards heaven.
5ပျောက် တတ်သောအရာကို စေ့စေ့မျက်မှောက် ပြုသင့်သလော။ အကယ် စင်စစ်ရွှေလင်းတ သည် မိုဃ်း ကောင်းကင်သို့ ပျံတတ်သကဲ့သို့ ၊ ထို အရာသည် အတောင် တို့ကို လုပ် ၍ ပျံ သွားတတ်၏။
6Eat not with an envious man, and desire not his meats:
6မနာလို သောသူ၏ အစာ ကိုမ စား နှင့်။ သူ ၏ ခဲဘွယ် စားဘွယ်ကို အလို မ ရှိနှင့်။
7Because like a soothsayer, and diviner, he thinketh that which he knoweth not. Eat and drink, will he say to thee: and his mind is not with thee.
7သူ သည် စိတ် ထင် သည်အတိုင်း ဖြစ်၏။ စား သောက် တော့ဟု ဆို သော်လည်း စေတနာစိတ် မ ရှိ။
8The meats which thou hadst eaten, thou shalt vomit up: and shalt loose thy beautiful words.
8သင် သည် စား သောအစာ ကို တဖန်အန် ရ လိမ့်မည်။ သင် ချို သော စကား လည်း ယိုယွင်း လိမ့်မည်။
9Speak not in the ears of fools: because they will despise the instruction of thy speech.
9မိုက် သောသူကြား အောင် စကားမ ပြော နှင့်။ သင် ၏စကား ၌ ပါသောပညာ ကို မထီမဲ့မြင် ပြုလိမ့်မည်။
10Touch not the bounds of little ones: and enter not into the field of the fatherless:
10အရင် စိုက်သော မြေ မှတ်တိုင်ကိုမ ရွှေ့ နှင့်။ မိဘ မရှိသောသူတို့ ၏ လယ် ကို မ သိမ်း နှင့်။
11For their near kinsman is strong: and he will judge their cause against thee.
11အကြောင်း မူကား၊ ထိုသူ တို့ကို ရွေး တော်မူသောသူသည် တန်ခိုး ကြီး၍၊ သင့် တဘက် ၌ သူ တို့အမှု ကို စောင့် တော်မူလိမ့်မည်။
12Let thy heart apply itself to instruction: and thy ears to words of knowledge.
12ဆုံးမ ဩဝါဒ၌ စိတ် နှလုံးစွဲလမ်း ၍ ၊ ပညာ အတတ် စကား ကို နားခံ လော့။
13Withhold not correction from a child: for if thou strike him with the rod, he shall not die.
13သူငယ် ကို မ ဆုံးမဘဲမ နေနှင့်။ ကြိမ်လုံး နှင့် ရိုက် သော်လည်း သူသည် မ သေ။
14Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and deliver his soul from hell.
14ကြိမ်လုံး နှင့် ရိုက် ၍ သူ ၏အသက် ဝိညာဉ်ကို မရဏာ နိုင်ငံမှ ကယ်နှုတ် ရမည်။
15My son, if thy mind be wise, my heart shall rejoice with thee:
15ငါ့ သား ၊ သင့် နှလုံး ၌ပညာ ရှိလျှင် ငါ့ နှလုံး နှင့် ငါ့ကိုယ်တိုင်သည် ဝမ်းမြောက် လိမ့်မည်။
16And my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips shall speak what is right.
16သင့် နှုတ် သည် မှန် သောစကားကို ပြော သောအခါ ၊ ငါ့ ကျောက်ကပ် ရွှင်လန်း လိမ့်မည်။
17Let not thy heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long:
17အပြစ် ထင်ရှားသောသူတို့ ကို ငြူစူ သောစိတ် မ ရှိစေနှင့်။ တနေ့လုံး ထာဝရဘုရား ကို ကြောက်ရွံ့ သောသဘော ရှိစေလော့။
18Because thou shalt have hope in the latter end, and thy expectation shall not be taken away.
18အကယ် စင်စစ်အမှု ဆုံးဖြတ်ချိန်သည် ရောက် လိမ့်မည်။ သင့် မြော်လင့် ခြင်းအကြောင်းမ ပျက် ရာ။
19Hear thou, my son, and be wise: and guide thy mind in the way.
19ငါ့ သား ၊ ငါ့စကားကို နားထောင် ၍ ပညာ ရှိသဖြင့် ၊ ကိုယ် စိတ် နှလုံးကို လမ်းမ ၌ ပဲ့ပြင် လော့။
20Be not in the feasts of great drinkers, nor in their revellings, who contribute flesh to eat:
20စပျစ်ရည် သောက်ကြူး သောသူ၊ အမဲသား စားကြူး သောသူတို့ ကို အပေါင်းအဘော်မ လုပ် နှင့်။
21Because they that give themselves to drinking, and that club together shall be consumed; and drowsiness shall be clothed with rags.
21သောက်ကြူး သောသူနှင့် စားကြူး သောသူသည် ဆင်းရဲ ခြင်းသို့ ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။ အိပ်ကြူး သော သဘောသည် လူကိုအဝတ် စုတ်နှင့် ခြုံတတ်၏။
22Hearken to thy father, that beget thee: and despise not thy mother when she is old.
22သင့် ကိုဖြစ်ဘွား စေသောအဘ ၏ စကားကို နားထောင် လော့။ အသက်ကြီး သော အမိ ကို မထီမဲ့မြင် မ ပြုနှင့်။
23Buy truth, and do not sell wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
23သမ္မာ တရားကို ဝယ် လော့။ မ ရောင်း နှင့်။ ပညာ ကို၎င်း ၊ ဆုံးမ ဩဝါဒကို၎င်း ၊ ဉာဏ် သတ္တိကို၎င်း ထိုအတူ ပြုလော့။
24The father of the just rejoiceth greatly: he that hath begotten a wise son, shall have joy in him.
24ဖြောင့်မတ် သောသူ၏အဘ သည် အလွန်ဝမ်းမြောက် လိမ့်မည်။ ပညာ ရှိသော သားကို ဖြစ်ဘွား စေသောသူသည် ထို သား၌ အားရဝမ်းမြောက် လိမ့်မည်။
25Let thy father, and thy mother be joyful, and let her rejoice that bore thee.
25သင်၏မိဘ တို့သည်ဝမ်းမြောက် ၍ ၊ သင့် ကို မွေးဘွား သောသူသည် ရွှင်လန်း လိမ့်မည်။
26My son, give me thy heart: and let thy eyes keep my ways.
26ငါ့ သား ၊ သင့် နှလုံး ကို ငါ့ အား ပေး လော့။ သင့် မျက်စိ တို့သည် ငါ သွားသောလမ်း ကို ကြည့်မှတ် ပါစေ။
27For a harlot is a deep ditch: and a strange woman is a narrow pit.
27ပြည်တန်ဆာမ သည် နက် သောကျုံး ကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ အမျိုး ပျက်သော မိန်းမသည် ကျဉ်း သော မြေတွင်း ကဲ့သို့၎င်း ဖြစ်၏။
28She lieth in wait in the way as a robber, and him whom she shall see unwary, she will kill.
28သူ သည် ထားပြ ကဲ့သို့ ချောင်း ကြည့်တတ်၏။ လွန်ကျူး သော ယောက်ျား များပြား စေခြင်းငှါ ပြုတတ်၏။
29Who hath woe? whose father hath woe? who hath contentions? who falls into pits? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
29အဘယ်သူ သည် ဝမ်းနည်း ခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူ သည် ညည်းတွား ခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူ သည် ရန်တွေ့ ခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူ သည် မြည်တမ်း ခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူ သည် အကျိုး အကြောင်းမရှိ၊ ထိခိုက် ၍ နာခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူ သည် မျက်စိ နီ ခြင်းရှိသနည်း ဟူမူကား၊
30Surely they that pass their time in wine, and study to drink of their cups.
30စပျစ်ရည် ကို ကြာမြင့် စွာ သောက်လျက်နေ သောသူ၊ ဆေး နှင့်ရောသော စပျစ်ရည်ကို ရှာ တတ်သောသူတို့ သည် ထိုသို့သော လက္ခဏာ ရှိကြ၏။
31Look not upon the wine when it is yellow, when the colour thereof shineth in the glass: it goeth in pleasantly,
31ဖလား ၌ နီ လျက် ၊ အရောင် တောက်လျက် ၊ အချို အမြိန်ဝင် လျက်ရှိသောစပျစ်ရည် ကို မ ကြည့် မရှုနှင့်။
32But in the end, it will bite like a snake, and will spread abroad poison like a basilisk.
32နောက်ဆုံး ၌ မြွေ ကဲ့သို့ ကိုက် တတ်၏။ မြွေဆိုး ကဲ့သို့ နာ စေတတ်၏။
33Thy eyes shall behold strange women, and thy heart shall utter perverse things.
33သင့် မျက်စိ တို့သည် အမျိုး ပျက်သောမိန်းမတို့ကို ကြည့်ရှု ၍ ၊ သင့် နှလုံး သည်လည်း ကောက် သော စကားကို မြွက်ဆို လိမ့်မည်။
34And thou shalt be as one sleeping in the midst of the sea, and as a pilot fast asleep, when the stern is lost.
34အကယ် စင်စစ်သင်သည် ပင်လယ် အလယ် ၌ အိပ် သောသူ၊ သင်္ဘော ရွက်တိုင်ဖျား ပေါ် မှာ အိပ် သော သူကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ် လိမ့်မည်။
35And thou shalt say: They have beaten me, but I was not sensible of pain: they drew me, and I felt not: when shall I awake, and find wine again?
35သူတို့သည် ငါ့ ကိုရိုက် ကြပြီ။ သို့သော်လည်းငါမ နာ။ ငါ့ ကိုထိုး ကြသော်လည်းငါမ သိ။ အဘယ် အချိန် မှ ငါနိုး ရမည်နည်း။ တဖန် ငါရှာ ဦးမည်ဟု သင်ဆိုလိမ့် သတည်း။
