Asang Khongca Bible (Eastern Khumi Chin, 2019)
1And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended all these words, he said to his disciples:
1Jesu mah hae loknawk thuih pacoengah, a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah,
2You know that after two days shall be the pasch, and the son of man shall be delivered up to be crucified:
2ni hnetto pacoeng ah misong loihhaih poih om tih, tito na panoek o, to naah kami Capa thinglam pong takhing hanah paek o tih.
3Then were gathered together the chief priests and ancients of the people into the court of the high priest, who was called Caiphas:
3To naah kalen koek qaimanawk, ca tarik kaminawk, kacoehtanawk, Kaiapha, tiah kawk ih kalen koek qaima im ah amkhueng o,
4And they consulted together, that by subtilty they might apprehend Jesus, and put him to death.
4Jesu to zoek moe, naeh o pacoengah, hum hanah a thuih o.
5But they said: Not on the festival day, lest perhaps there should be a tumult among the people.
5Toe poihsakhaih niah sah hmah si, to tih ai nahaeloe rangpui palungpuihaih om moeng tih, tiah a thuih o.
6And when Jesus was in Bethania, in the house of Simon the leper,
6Jesu loe Bethany vang ah kaom, ngansae maan Simon im ah oh naah,
7There came to him a woman having an alabaster box of precious ointment, and poured it on his head as he was at table.
7atho kana parai hmuihoih tabu kasin nongpata maeto anih khaeah angzoh moe, anih buhcaak han anghnut naah lu nuiah a bawh pae.
8And the disciples seeing it, had indignation, saying: To what purpose is this waste?
8A hnukbang kaminawk mah hnuk o naah, palungphui o moe, tikhoe avang ai ah hae tiah a kraih vai?
9For this might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
9Atho kana ah hmuihoih tui to zawh moe, amtang kaminawk hanah phoisa to a paek han oh, tiah a thuih o.
10And Jesus knowing it, said to them: Why do you trouble this woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
10Jesu mah to tiah kaom hmuen to panoek naah, Tih hanah nongpata to na tavet o khing loe? Anih loe ka nuiah kahoih hmuen ni a sak.
11For the poor you have always with you: but me you have not always.
11Nangcae loe amtang kamminawk hoi nawnto na oh o toepsoep: toe kai loe nangcae hoi ka om poe mak ai.
12For she in pouring this ointment upon my body, hath done it for my burial.
12Nongpata mah ka nuiah bawh ih hmuihoih tui loe Kai aphum hanah sak ih hmuen ah ni oh.
13Amen I say to you, wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, that also which she hath done, shall be told for a memory of her.
13Loktang kang thuih o, Long pum ah hae kahoih tamthanglok thuih kruek, hae nongpata mah ka nuiah sak ih hmuen doeh anih panoek poehaih hanah thui o tih, tiah a naa.
14Then went one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, to the chief priests,
14To naah a hnukbang hatlai hnetto thungah Judah Isakariot, tiah kawk ih kami maeto loe, kalen koek qaima khaeah caeh moe,
15And said to them: What will you give me, and I will deliver him unto you? But they appointed him thirty pieces of silver.
15nihcae khaeah, Anih to kang paek nahaeloe timaw nang paek o han? tiah a naa. To naah nihcae mah anih khaeah phoisa quithumto paek hanah palungdue o.
16And from thenceforth he sought opportunity to betray him.
16To nathuem hoi kamtong anih mah Jesu naeh thai han ih atue kahoih to pakrong boeh.
17And on the first day of the Azymes, the disciples came to Jesus, saying: Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the pasch?
17Taeh thuh ai misong loihhaih poih nito naah loe, a hnukbang kaminawk Jesu khaeah angzoh o moe, nang hanah misong loihhaih poih hae naah maw saksak han na koeh? tiah a naa o.
18But Jesus said: Go ye into the city to a certain man, and say to him: the master saith, My time is near at hand, with thee I make the pasch with my disciples.
18Anih mah, Vangpui thung ih kami maeto khaeah caeh oh loe, anih khaeah, Patukkung mah Kai ih atue loe zoi boeh; ka hnukbang kaminawk hoi nang im ah Misong loihhaih poih ka sak han, tiah a thuih, tiah thui pae oh, tiah a naa.
19And the disciples did as Jesus appointed to them, and they prepared the pasch.
19Jesu mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah a hnukbang kaminawk mah, Misong loihhaih poih to sak o.
20But when it was evening, he sat down with his twelve disciples.

23But he answering, said: He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, he shall betray me.
23Anih mah, Kai hoi nawnto sabae tapawh kami mah, kai angphat taak tih.
24The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man shall be betrayed: it were better for him, if that man had not been born.
24Kami Capa loe angmah kawng tarik ih baktih toengah caeh tih: toe kami Capa angphat taak kami loe khosak bing! To kami loe tapen ai ah om nahaeloe hoi kue tih, tiah pathim pae.
25And Judas that betrayed him, answering, said: Is it I, Rabbi? He saith to him: Thou hast said it.
25Anih angphat taak kami, Judah mah, Rabbi, kai maw? tiah a naa. To naah anih mah, Na thuih ih baktih toengah nang ni, tiah a naa.
26And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke: and gave to his disciples, and said: Take ye, and eat. This is my body.
26Nihcae buhcaak o nathuem ah, Jesu mah takaw to lak moe, tahamhoihhaih paek pacoengah, a aeh, a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah a paek, la oh loe, caa oh: hae loe ka taksa ah oh, tiah a naa.
27And taking the chalice, he gave thanks, and gave to them, saying: Drink ye all of this.
27To pacoengah boengloeng to a lak moe, kawnhaih lawkthuih pacoengah, nihcae khaeah a paek, nae o boih ah;
28For this is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many unto remission of sins.

29And I say to you, I will not drink from henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I shall drink it with you new in the kingdom of my Father.
29Kang thuih o, Vaihi hoi kamtong Pa ih prae ah nangcae hoi nawnto kangtha naekhaih ni pha ai karoek to, hae misurtui hae ka nae mak ai boeh, tiah a naa.
30And a hymn being said, they went out unto mount Olivet.
30Laa maeto a sak o pacoengah, Olive mae ah a caeh o.
31Then Jesus said to them: All you shall be scandalized in me this night. For it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be dispersed.
31Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Tuutoep kami to ka boh han, tuunawk loe ahmuen kalah ah ampraek o phang tih, tiah tarik baktih toengah, kai pongah vaiduem poekhaih nam ro o boih tih.
32But after I shall be risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
32Toe kang thawk let pacoengah, nangcae hmaa ah Kalili ah ka caeh han, tiah a naa.
33And Peter answering, said to him: Although all shall be scandalized in thee, I will never be scandalized.
33Piter mah anih khaeah, Nang pongah minawk poek amro o boih cadoeh, kai loe natuek naah doeh poek amro mak ai, tiah a naa.
34Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee, that in this night before the cock crow, thou wilt deny me thrice.
34Jesu mah anih khaeah, Loktang kang thuih, vaiduem aakhong ai naah, vai thumto kai nang phat taak tih, tiah a naa.
35Peter saith to him: Yea, though I should die with thee, I will not deny thee. And in like manner said all the disciples.
35Piter mah anih khaeah, Nang hoi nawnto duek han om cadoeh, nang to kang phat taak mak ai, tiah a naa. A hnukbang kaminawk mah doeh to tiah thuih o boih.
36Then Jesus came with them into a country place which is called Gethsemani; and he said to his disciples: Sit you here, till I go yonder and pray.
36To pacoengah Jesu loe Gethsemane, tiah kawk ih ahmuen ah a hnukbang kaminawk hoi caeh o, a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah, haeah anghnu oh, ho ah lawkthuih han ka caeh han, tiah a naa.
37And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to grow sorrowful and to be sad.
37Piter hoi Zebedi capa hnik to a caeh haih, anih loe palungset moe, paroeai dawnraihaih hoiah oh.
38Then he saith to them: My soul is sorrowful even unto death: stay you here, and watch with me.
38Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Ka hinghaih pakhra loe duek han khoek to palungset parai; haeah om oh loe nawnto na hak o haih ah, tiah a naa.
39And going a little further, he fell upon his face, praying, and saying: My Father, if it be possible, let this chalice pass from me. Nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
39Anih loe ahmuen kangthla kue ah caeh moe, mikhmai long ah akuep, Aw Pa, angcoeng thai nahaeloe, hae boengloeng hae kai khae hoi takhoe ving ah: toe ka koehhaih baktih na ai ah, na koehhaih baktiah om nasoe, tiah lawk a thuih.
40And he cometh to his disciples, and findeth them asleep, and he saith to Peter: What? Could you not watch one hour with me?
40A hnukbang kaminawk khaeah a caeh naah, ka-iip nihcae to a hnuk, Piter khaeah, atue maeto thung mataeng doeh nang hak o haih thai ai maw?
41Watch ye, and pray that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh weak.
41Pacuekhaih thungah na kun o han ai ah, Hak oh loe, lawkthui oh: pakhra mah loe koeh, toe taksa loe thazok, tiah a naa.
42Again the second time, he went and prayed, saying: My Father, if this chalice may not pass away, but I must drink it, thy will be done.
42Anih loe caeh let moe, Aw Pa, hae boengloeng hae kai khae hoiah ni takhoe ving thai ai moe, ka naek hanah om khruek nahaeloe, na koehhaih baktiah om nasoe, tiah lawk a thuih.
43And he cometh again and findeth them sleeping: for their eyes were heavy.
43Anih angzoh let naah, iih kangmue khaang o ai pongah, ka-iip nihcae to a hnuk let bae.
44And leaving them, he went again: and he prayed the third time, saying the selfsame word.
44To pongah nihcae to a caeh taak moe, vai thumto haih, to tiah lawk a thuih let bae.
45Then he cometh to his disciples, and saith to them: Sleep ye now and take your rest; behold the hour is at hand, and the Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of sinners.
45To pacoengah a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah a caeh, nihcae khaeah, Vaihi khoek to nang song o moe, na iih o vop maw? Khenah, Kami Capa to angphat taak moe, kazae kaminawk ban ah paekhaih atue loe zoi boeh, tiah a naa.
46Rise, let us go: behold he is at hand that will betray me.
46Angthawk oh, caeh o si boeh: khenah, kai angphat taak kami loe angzoh boeh, tiah a naa.
47As he yet spoke, behold Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the ancients of the people.
47Anih lokthuih li naah, khenah, hatlai hnetto thung ih maeto, Judah to angzoh, kalen koek qaima hoi rangpui kacoehtanawk mah patoeh ih, pop parai kaminawk loe haikaek hoi thingboengnawk to sin o moe, angzoh o.
48And he that betrayed him, gave them a sign, saying: Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he, hold him fast.
48Anih angphat taak kami mah nihcae hanah angmathaih to paek, Ka mok ih kami loe, Anih to boeh ni; anih to naeh oh, tiah a naa.
49And forthwith coming to Jesus, he said: Hail, Rabbi. And he kissed him.
49Judah loe Jesu khaeah caeh phrat moe, Patukkung, tiah lok tapring pacoengah, Anih to a mok.
50And Jesus said to him: Friend, whereto art thou come? Then they came up, and laid hands on Jesus, and held him.
50Jesu mah anih khaeah, Ampui, tih sak han ih maw nang zoh? tiah a naa. To naah kaminawk angzoh o moe, Anih to naeh o pacoengah, a caeh o haih.
51And behold one of them that were with Jesus, stretching forth his hand, drew out his sword: and striking the servant of the high priest, cut off his ear.
51To naah khenah, Jesu hoi nawnto kaom kaminawk thung ih maeto loe a ban to phok moe, a sumsen to azuh pacoengah, kalen koek qaima tamna ih naa to takroek pae pat.
52Then Jesus saith to him: Put up again thy sword into its place: for all that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
52Jesu mah anih khaeah, angmah ih ahmuen ah na sumsen to suem ah: mi kawbaktih doeh sumsen sin kami loe suemsen hoiah dueh tih.
53Thinkest thou that I cannot ask my Father, and he will give me presently more than twelve legions of angels?
53Kai paek hanah misatuh abu hatlai hnetto pongah kapop van kaminawk to Pa khaeah vaihi ka hni thai mak ai, tiah na poek o maw?
54How then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that so it must be done?
54Toe to tiah om nahaeloe, cabu thungah hae tiah om tih, tiah thuih ih lok to kawbangah maw akoep thai tih? tiah a naa.
55In that same hour Jesus said to the multitudes: You are come out as it were to a robber with swords and clubs to apprehend me. I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you laid not hands on me.
55To nathuem ah Jesu mah pop parai kaminawk khaeah, Kai hae kamqu baktiah naeh han ih maw, sumsen hoi thingboengnawk hoiah nang zoh o? Tikhoe ni thokkruek tempul thungah nangcae hoi nawnto kang hnut moe, kaminawk ka patuk naah nang naeh o ai loe?
56Now all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then the disciples all leaving him, fled.
56Toe tahmaanawk mah tarik ih cabu akoep han ih ni hae hmuen hae oh, tiah a naa. To pacoengah a hnukbang kaminawk mah anih to angphat o taak moe, cawnh o taak boih.
57But they holding Jesus led him to Caiphas the high priest, where the scribes and the ancients were assembled.
57Jesu naeh kaminawk mah anih to ca trik kaminawk hoi kacoehtanawk amkhuenghaih, kalen koek qaima, Kaiapha im ah caeh o haih.
58And Peter followed him afar off, even to the court of the high priest. And going in, he sat with the servants, that he might see the end.
58Toe Piter loe qaima im khoek to ahmuen kangtla hoiah anih hnukah bang, kawbangah maw a sak o, tiah panoek hanah, a thungah akun moe, imtoep tamnanawk hoi nawnto anghnut.
59And the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death:
59Qaimanawk, kacoehtanawk hoi lokcaekungnawk boih mah Jesu hum hanah, sak pazaehaih to pakrong o;
60And they found not, whereas many false witnesses had come in. And last of all there came two false witnesses:
60toe tidoeh hnu o ai: ue, zae netkung paroeai angzoh o, toe nihcae mah zaehaih tidoeh hnu o ai. Hnukkhuem koek ah loe amsawn zaehaih hnukung hnetto angzoh moe,
61And they said: This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and after three days to rebuild it.
61hae kami mah, Sithaw ih tempul hae ka phraek moe, ni thumto thungah ka sak thaih, tiah thuih, tiah a thuih hoi.
62And the high priest rising up, said to him: Answerest thou nothing to the things which these witness against thee?
62To naah kalen koek qaima to angthawk moe, anih khaeah, lok nang pathim mak ai maw? Hae hnukung hnik mah zae nethaih loe kawbangah maw oh? tiah a naa.
63But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said to him: I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us if thou be the Christ the Son of God.
63Toe Jesu loe angam duem. Qaima mah anih khaeah, Kahing Sithaw ih ahmin palawkhaih hoiah lok kang dueng, nang loe Sithaw Capa, Kri maw? Na thui ah, tiah a naa.
64Jesus saith to him: Thou hast said it. Nevertheless I say to you, hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of the power of God, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
64Jesu mah anih khaeah, Na thuih ih baktih toengah ka oh: toe nang khaeah lok ka thuih, hmabang ah loe Thacak bantang bangah kanghnu, tamai nui hoiah angzo Kami Capa to na hnu tih, tiah a naa.
65Then the high priests rent his garments, saying: He hath blasphemed; what further need have we of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard the blasphemy:
65To naah kalen koek qaima mah angmah ih kahni to asih moe, Anih mah Sithaw to kasae thuih boeh; aicae mah kalah hnukungnawk timaw angaihaih oh vop? Khenah, a thuih ih Sithaw padaenghaih lok to vaihi na thaih o boeh.
66What think you? But they answering, said: He is guilty of death.
66Kawbangah maw na poek o? tiah a naa. Nihcae mah, Anih loe duek han krah zaehaih a tawnh, tiah pathim pae o.
67Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him: and others struck his face with the palms of their hands,
67Nihcae mah a mikhmai ah tamtui hoi pathoih o moe, anih to thong o; thoemto kaminawk mah anih to tabaeng o,
68Saying: Prophesy unto us, O Christ, who is he that struck thee?
68nang Kri, mi mah maw ang boh? Na thui ah, tiah a naa o.
69But Peter sat without in the court: and there came to him a servant maid, saying: Thou also wast with Jesus the Galilean.
69Piter loe im tasa bangah anghnut: to naah nongpata maeto anih khaeah angzoh moe, nang doeh Kalili prae ih Jesu hoi nawnto na oh toeng bae, tiah a naa.
70But he denied before them all, saying: I know not what thou sayest.
70Toe Piter mah nihcae boih hma ah angphat, timaw na thuih ka panoek ai, tiah a naa.
71And as he went out of the gate, another maid saw him, and she saith to them that were there: This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.
71Im hmabang ih khongkha ah a caeh naah, kalah nongpata maeto mah anih to hnuk, nongpata mah to ah kaom kaminawk khaeah, Hae kami doeh Nazareth Jesu hoi nawnto oh, tiah a thuih.
72And again he denied with an oath, I know not the man.
72To naah anih mah, To kami to ka panoek ai, tiah lokmaihaih hoiah angphat taak let.
73And after a little while they came that stood by, and said to Peter: Surely thou also art one of them; for even thy speech doth discover thee.
73Akra ai ah to ah angdoe kaminawk anih khaeah angzoh o moe, Piter khaeah, nang doeh nihcae thung ih kami maeto ah ni na oh; na paeh ih lok pongah amnoek boeh, tiah a naa o.
74Then he began to curse and to swear that he knew not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
74To naah anih mah, To kami to ka panoek ai, tiah tangoenghaih hoiah lokkamhaih to a sak. To pacoengah loe aa to khong roep.
75And Peter remembered the word of Jesus which he had said: Before the cock crow, thou wilt deny me thrice. And going forth, he wept bitterly.
75Jesu mah, aakhong ai naah, vai thumto kai nang phat taak tih, tiah thuih ih lok to Piter mah panoek. To pongah tasa bangah a caeh moe, palungset loiah a qah.
