1以色列 人在 迦南 地所得的产业，就是祭司 以利亚撒 和 嫩 的儿子 约书亚 ，并 以色列 各支派的族长所分给他们的，都记在下面，
1And these are the inheritances which the children of Israel took in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed unto them,
2是照耶和华借 摩西 所吩咐的，把产业拈阄分给九个半支派。
2by the lot of their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half-tribe. —
3原来， 摩西 在 约旦河 东已经把产业分给那两个半支派，只是在他们中间没有把产业分给 利未 人。
3For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Jordan; but unto the Levites he gave no inheritance among them.
4因为 约瑟 的子孙是两个支派，就是 玛拿西 和 以法莲 ，所以没有把地分给 利未 人，但给他们城邑居住，并城邑的郊野，可以牧养他们的牲畜，安置他们的财物。
4For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim; and they gave no portion unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with the open land about them for their cattle and for their substance. —
5耶和华怎样吩咐 摩西 ， 以色列 人就照样行，把地分了。
5As the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.
6那时， 犹大 人来到 吉甲 见 约书亚 ，有 基尼洗 族 耶孚尼 的儿子 迦勒 对 约书亚 说：「耶和华在 加低斯·巴尼亚 指着我与你对神人 摩西 所说的话，你都知道了。
6Then the children of Judah drew nigh unto Joshua in Gilgal; and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said unto him: 'Thou knowest the thing that the LORD spoke unto Moses the man of God concerning me and concerning thee in Kadesh-barnea.
7耶和华的仆人 摩西 从 加低斯·巴尼亚 打发我窥探这地，那时我正四十岁；我按着心意回报他。
7Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land; and I brought him back word as it was in my heart.
8然而，同我上去的众弟兄使百姓的心消化；但我专心跟从耶和华—我的 神。
8Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
9当日 摩西 起誓说：『你脚所踏之地定要归你和你的子孙永远为业，因为你专心跟从耶和华—我的 神。』
9And Moses swore on that day, saying: Surely the land whereon thy foot hath trodden shall be an inheritance to thee and to thy children for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
10自从耶和华对 摩西 说这话的时候，耶和华照他所应许的使我存活这四十五年；其间 以色列 人在旷野行走。看哪，现今我八十五岁了，
10And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as He spoke, these forty and five years, from the time that the LORD spoke this word unto Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness; and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
11我还是强壮，像 摩西 打发我去的那天一样；无论是争战，是出入，我的力量那时如何，现在还是如何。
11As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me; as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, and to go out and to come in.
12求你将耶和华那日应许我的这山地给我；那里有 亚衲 族人，并宽大坚固的城，你也曾听见了。或者耶和华照他所应许的与我同在，我就把他们赶出去。」
12Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spoke in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakim were there, and cities great and fortified; it may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as the LORD spoke.'
13于是 约书亚 为 耶孚尼 的儿子 迦勒 祝福，将 希伯 给他为业。
13And Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.
14所以 希伯 作了 基尼洗 族 耶孚尼 的儿子 迦勒 的产业，直到今日，因为他专心跟从耶和华— 以色列 的 神。
14Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, unto this day; because that he wholly followed the LORD, the God of Israel.
15希伯 从前名叫 基列·亚巴 ； 亚巴 是 亚衲 族中最尊大的人。于是国中太平，没有争战了。
15Now the name of Hebron beforetime was Kiriath-arba, which Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim. And the land had rest from war.
