1从前 以法莲 说话，人都战兢， 他在 以色列 中居处高位； 但他在 事奉 巴力 的事上犯罪就死了。
1When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he became guilty through Baal, he died.
2现今他们罪上加罪， 用银子为自己铸造偶像， 就是照自己的聪明制造， 都是匠人的工作。 有人论说， 献祭的人可以向牛犊亲嘴。
2And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, according to their own understanding, even idols, all of them the work of the craftsmen; of them they say: 'They that sacrifice men kiss calves.'
3因此，他们必如早晨的云雾， 又如速散的甘露， 像场上的糠秕被狂风吹去， 又像烟气腾于窗外。
3Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the dew that early passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the wind out of the threshing-floor, and as the smoke out of the window.
4自从你出 埃及 地以来， 我就是耶和华—你的 神。 在我以外，你不可认识别神； 除我以外并没有救主。
4Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt; and thou knowest no God but Me, and beside Me there is no saviour.
5我曾在旷野干旱之地认识你。
5I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
6这些民照 我所赐 的食物得了饱足； 既得饱足，心就高傲， 忘记了我。
6When they were fed, they became full, they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten Me.
7因此，我向他们如狮子， 又如豹伏在道旁。
7Therefore am I become unto them as a lion; as a leopard will I watch by the way;
8我遇见他们必像丢崽子的母熊， 撕裂他们的胸膛。 在那里，我必像母狮吞吃他们； 野兽必撕裂他们。
8I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the enclosure of their heart; and there will I devour them like a lioness; the wild beast shall tear them.
9以色列 啊，你与我反对， 就是反对帮助你的，自取败坏。
9It is thy destruction, O Israel, that thou art against Me, against thy help.
10你曾求我说： 给我立王和首领。 现在你的王在哪里呢？ 治理你的在哪里呢？ 让他在你所有的城中拯救你吧！
10Ho, now, thy king, that he may save thee in all thy cities! and thy judges, of whom thou saidst: 'Give me a king and princes!'
11我在怒气中将王赐你， 又在烈怒中将王废去。
11I give thee a king in Mine anger, and take him away in My wrath.
12以法莲 的罪孽包裹； 他的罪恶收藏。
12The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is laid up in store.
13产妇的疼痛必临到他身上； 他是无智慧之子， 到了产期不当迟延。
13The throes of a travailing woman shall come upon him; he is an unwise son; for it is time he should not tarry in the place of the breaking forth of children.
14我必救赎他们脱离阴间， 救赎他们脱离死亡。 死亡啊，你的灾害在哪里呢？ 阴间哪，你的毁灭在哪里呢？ 在我眼前绝无后悔之事。
14Shall I ransom them from the power of the nether-world? Shall I redeem them from death? Ho, thy plagues, O death! Ho, thy destruction, O nether-world! Repentance be hid from Mine eyes!
15他在弟兄中虽然茂盛， 必有东风刮来， 就是耶和华的风从旷野上来。 他的泉源必干； 他的源头必竭； 仇敌必掳掠他所积蓄的一切宝器。
15For though he be fruitful among the reed-plants, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD coming up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up; he shall spoil the treasure of all precious vessels.
16撒马利亚 必担当自己的罪， 因为悖逆她的 神。 她必倒在刀下； 婴孩必被摔死； 孕妇必被剖开。
16(14-1) Samaria shall bear her guilt, for she hath rebelled against her God; they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
