1基列 寄居的 提斯比 人 以利亚 对 亚哈 说：「我指着所事奉永生耶和华— 以色列 的 神起誓，这几年我若不祷告，必不降露，不下雨。」
1And Elias the Thesbite of the inhabitants of Galaad said to Achab: As the Lord liveth the God of Israel, in whose sight I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to the words of my mouth.
2耶和华的话临到 以利亚 说：
2And the word of the Lord came to him, saying:
3「你离开这里往东去，藏在 约旦河 东边的 基立溪 旁。
3Get thee hence, and go towards the east and hide thyself by the torrent of Carith, which is over against the Jordan,
4你要喝那溪里的水，我已吩咐乌鸦在那里供养你。」
4And there thou shalt drink of the torrent: and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
5于是 以利亚 照着耶和华的话，去住在 约旦河 东的 基立溪 旁。
5So he went, and did according to the word of the Lord: and going, he dwelt by the torrent Carith, which is over against the Jordan.
6乌鸦早晚给他叼饼和肉来，他也喝那溪里的水。
6And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening, and he drank of tile torrent.
7过了些日子，溪水就干了，因为雨没有下在地上。
7But after some time the torrent was dried up, for it had not rained upon the earth.
8耶和华的话临到他说：
8Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying:
9「你起身往 西顿 的 撒勒法 去，住在那里；我已吩咐那里的一个寡妇供养你。」
9Arise, and go to Sarephta of the Sidonians, and dwell there: for I have commanded a widow woman there to feed thee.
10以利亚 就起身往 撒勒法 去。到了城门，见有一个寡妇在那里捡柴， 以利亚 呼叫她说：「求你用器皿取点水来给我喝。」
10He arose, and went to Sarephta. And when he was come to the gate of the city, he saw the widow woman gathering sticks, and he called her, and said to her: Give me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11她去取水的时候， 以利亚 又呼叫她说：「也求你拿点饼来给我！」
11And when she was going to fetch it he called after her, saying: Bring me also, I beseech thee, a morsel of bread in thy hand.
12她说：「我指着永生耶和华—你的 神起誓，我没有饼，坛内只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油；我现在找两根柴，回家要为我和我儿子做 饼 ；我们吃了，死就死吧！」
12And she answered: As the Lord thy God liveth, I have no bread, but only a handful of meal in a pot, and a little oil in a cruse: behold I am gathering two sticks that I may go in and dress it, for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13以利亚 对她说：「不要惧怕！可以照你所说的去做吧！只要先为我做一个小饼拿来给我，然后为你和你的儿子做饼。
13And Elias said to her: Fear not, but go, and do as thou hast said: but first make for me of the same meal a little hearth cake, and bring it to me: and after make for thyself and thy son.
14因为耶和华— 以色列 的 神如此说：坛内的面必不减少，瓶里的油必不缺短，直到耶和华使雨降在地上的日子。」
14For thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: The pot of meal shall not waste, nor the cruse of oil be diminished, until the day wherein the Lord will give rain upon the face of the earth.
15妇人就照 以利亚 的话去行。她和她家中的人，并 以利亚 ，吃了许多日子。
15She went and did according to the word of Elias: and he ate, and she, and her house: and from that day
16坛内的面果不减少，瓶里的油也不缺短，正如耶和华借 以利亚 所说的话。
16The pot of meal wasted not, and the cruse of oil was not diminished, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke in the hand of Elias.
17这事以后，作那家主母的妇人，她儿子病了；病得甚重，以致身无气息。
17And it came to pass after this that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick, and the sickness was very grievous, so that there was no breath left in him.
18妇人对 以利亚 说：「神人哪，我与你何干？你竟到我这里来，使 神 想念我的罪，以致我的儿子死呢？」
18And she said to Elias: What have I to do with thee, thou man of God? art thou come to me that my iniquities should be remembered, and that thou shouldst kill my son?
19以利亚 对她说：「把你儿子交给我。」 以利亚 就从妇人怀中将孩子接过来，抱到他所住的楼中，放在自己的床上，
19And Elias said to her: Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him into the upper chamber where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
20就求告耶和华说：「耶和华—我的 神啊，我寄居在这寡妇的家里，你就降祸与她，使她的儿子死了吗？」
20And he cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, hast thou afflicted also the widow, with whom I am after a so maintained, so as to kill her son?
21以利亚 三次伏在孩子的身上，求告耶和华说：「耶和华—我的 神啊，求你使这孩子的灵魂仍入他的身体！」
21And he stretched, and measured himself upon the child three times, and cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord my God, let the soul of this child, I beseech thee, return into his body.
22耶和华应允 以利亚 的话，孩子的灵魂仍入他的身体，他就活了。
22And the Lord heard the voice of Elias: and the soul of the child returned into him, and he revived.
23以利亚 将孩子从楼上抱下来，进屋子交给他母亲，说：「看哪，你的儿子活了！」
23And Elias took the child, and brought him down from the upper chamber to the house below, and delivered him to his mother, and said to her: Behold thy son liveth.
24妇人对 以利亚 说：「现在我知道你是神人，耶和华借你口所说的话是真的。」
24And the woman said to Elias: Now, by this I know that thou art a man of God, and the word of the Lord in thy mouth is true.
