1以色列 众人聚集到 希伯 见 大卫 ，说：「我们原是你的骨肉。
1Then all Israel gathered themselves to David in Hebron, saying: We are thy bone, and thy flesh.
2从前 扫罗 作王的时候，率领 以色列 人出入的是你；耶和华—你的 神也曾应许你说：『你必牧养我的民 以色列 ，作 以色列 的君。』」
2Yesterday also, and the day before when Saul was king, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: for the Lord thy God said to thee: Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt; be ruler over them.
3于是 以色列 的长老都来到 希伯 见 大卫 王。 大卫 在 希伯 耶和华面前与他们立约，他们就膏 大卫 作 以色列 的王，是照耶和华借 撒母耳 所说的话。
3So all the ancients of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and David made a covenant with them before the Lord: and they anointed him king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke in the hand of Samuel.
4大卫 和 以色列 众人到了 耶路撒冷 ，就是 耶布斯 ；那时 耶布斯 人住在那里。
4And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus, where the Jebusites were the inhabitants of the land.
5耶布斯 人对 大卫 说：「你决不能进这地方。」然而 大卫 攻取 锡安 的保障，就是 大卫 的城。
5And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David: Thou shalt not come in here. But David took the castle of Sion, which is the city of David.
6大卫 说：「谁先攻打 耶布斯 人，必作首领元帅。」 洗鲁雅 的儿子 约押 先上去，就作了元帅。
6And he said: Whosoever shall first strike the Jebusites, shall be the head and chief captain. And Joab the son of Sarvia went up first, and was made the general.
7大卫 住在保障里，所以那保障叫作 大卫城 。
7And David dwelt in the castle, and therefore it was called the city of David.
8大卫 又从 米罗 起，四围建筑城墙，其余的是 约押 修理。
8And he built the city round about from Mello all round, and Joab built the rest of the city.
9大卫 日见强盛，因为万军之耶和华与他同在。
9And David went on growing and increasing, and the Lord of hosts was with him.
10以下记录跟随 大卫 勇士的首领，就是奋勇帮助他得国、照着耶和华吩咐 以色列 人的话、与 以色列 人一同立他作王的。
10These are the chief of the valiant men of David, who helped him to be made king over all Israel, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke to Israel.
11大卫 勇士的数目记在下面： 哈革摩尼 的儿子 雅朔班 ，他是军长的统领，一时举枪杀了三百人。
11And this is the number of the heroes of David: Jesbaam the son of Hachamoni the chief among the thirty: he lifted up his spear against three hundred wounded by him at one time.
12其次是 亚合 人 朵多 的儿子 以利亚撒 ，他是三个勇士里的一个。
12And after him was Eleazar his uncle’s son the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.
13他从前与 大卫 在 巴斯·达闵 ， 非利士 人聚集要打仗。那里有一块长满大麦的田，众民就在 非利士 人面前逃跑；
13He was with David in Phesdomim, when the Philistines were gathered to that place to battle: and the field of that country was full of barley, and the people fled from before the Philistines.
14这勇士便站在那田间击杀 非利士 人，救护了那田。耶和华使 以色列 人大获全胜。
14But these men stood in the midst of the field, and defended it: and they slew the Philistines, and the Lord gave a great deliverance to his people.
15三十个勇士中的三个人下到磐石那里，进了 亚杜兰洞 见 大卫 ； 非利士 的军队在 利乏音谷 安营。
15And three of the thirty captains went down to the rock, wherein David was, to the cave of Odollam, when the Philistines encamped in the valley of Raphaim.
16那时 大卫 在山寨， 非利士 人的防营在 伯利恒 。
16And David was in a hold, and the garrison of the Philistines in Bethlehem.
17大卫 渴想，说：「甚愿有人将 伯利恒 城门旁井里的水打来给我喝！」
17And David longed, and said: O that some man would give me water of the cistern of Bethlehem, which is in the gate.
18这三个勇士就闯过 非利士 人的营盘，从 伯利恒 城门旁的井里打水，拿来奉给 大卫 。他却不肯喝，将水奠在耶和华面前，
18And these three broke through the midst of the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the cistern of Bethlehem, which was in the gate, and brought it to David to drink: and he would not drink of it, but rather offered it to the Lord,
19说：「我的 神啊，这三个人冒死去打水，这水好像他们的血一般，我断不敢喝！」如此， 大卫 不肯喝。这是三个勇士所做的事。
19Saying: God forbid that I should do this in the sight of my God, and should drink the blood of these men: for with the danger of their lives they have brought me the water. And therefore he would not drink. These things did the three most valiant.
20约押 的兄弟 亚比筛 是这三个勇士的首领；他举枪杀了三百人，就在三个勇士里得了名。
20And Abisai the brother of Joab, he was chief of three, and he lifted up his spear against three hundred whom he slew, and he was renowned among the three,
21他在这三个勇士里是最尊贵的，所以作他们的首领；只是不及前三个勇士。
21And illustrious among the second three, and their captain: but yet he attained not to the first three.
22有 甲薛 勇士 耶何耶大 的儿子 比拿雅 行过大能的事：他杀了 摩押 人 亚利伊勒 的两个 儿子 ，又在下雪的时候下坑里去杀了一个狮子，
22Banaias the son of Joiada, a most valiant man, of Cabseel, who had done many acts: he slew the two ariels of Moab: and he went down, and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in the time of snow.
23又杀了一个 埃及 人。 埃及 人身高五肘，手里拿着枪，枪杆粗如织布的机轴； 比拿雅 只拿着棍子下去，从 埃及 人手里夺过枪来，用那枪将他刺死。
23And he slew an Egyptian, whose stature was of five cubits, and who had a spear like a weaver’s beam: and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked away the spear, that he held in his hand, and slew him with his own spear.
24这是 耶何耶大 的儿子 比拿雅 所行的事，就在三个勇士里得了名。
24These things did Banaias the son of Joiada, who was renowned among the three valiant ones,
25他比那三十个勇士都尊贵，只是不及前三个勇士。 大卫 立他作护卫长。
25And the first among the thirty, but yet to the three he attained not: and David made him of his council.
26军中的勇士有 约押 的兄弟 亚撒黑 ， 伯利恒 人 朵多 的儿子 伊勒哈难 ，
26Moreover the most valiant men of the army, were Asahel brother of Joab, and Elchanan the son of his uncle of Bethlehem,
27哈律 人 沙玛 ， 比伦 人 希利斯 ，
27Sammoth an Arorite, Helles a Phalonite,
28提哥亚 人 益吉 的儿子 以拉 ， 亚拿突 人 亚比以谢 ，
28Ira the son of Acces a Thecuite, Abiezer an Anathothite,
