1Siangpahrang ih palung loe, vapui baktiah Angraeng ban ah oh moe, a koehhaih ahmuen bangah longh.
1As the divisions of waters, so the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord: whithersoever he will he shall turn it.
2Kami maeto boih mah a caehhaih loklam to toeng, tiah poek; toe Angraeng loe palungthin ni khingh.
2Every way of a man seemeth right to himself: but the Lord weigheth the hearts.
3Angbawnhaih ah paek ih hmuen pongah loe, katoengah sak ih hmuen, katoengah lokcaekhaih to Angraeng mah koeh kue.
3To do mercy and judgment, pleaseth the Lord more than victims.
4Azat panoek ai mik tamdai hoi amoek palungthin, kahoih ai kami ih hmaithaw loe zaehaih hae ni.
4Haughtiness of the eyes is the enlarging of the heart: the lamp of the wicked is sin.
5Poek het pacoengah toksah kami loe angraeng, tawt kaak hoi toksah kami loe amtang.
5The thoughts of the industrious always bring forth abundance: but every sluggard is always in want.
6Lok amlaihaih hoi hak ih hmuen loe kazawk tamai hoi duekhaih thaang ah ni oh.
6He that gathereth treasures by a lying tongue, is vain and foolish, and shall stumble upon the snares of death.
7Kahoih ai kaminawk loe kahoih hmuen to sak koeh o ai pongah, a sak o ih sethaih hmuen mah angmacae to amrosak tih.
7The robberies of the wicked shall be their downfall, because they would not do judgment.
8Kami caehhaih loklam loe angkawnh; toe poekciim kami toksakhaih loe toeng.
8The perverse way of a man is strange: but as for him that is pure, his work is right.
9Angzoeh koeh zu hoiah kawk parai im ah oh pongah loe, imphu ranui ih im takii ah oh to hoih kue.
9It is better to sit in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling women, and in a common house.
10Kahoih ai kami loe uthaih palung to tawnh; a imtaeng kami nuiah doeh tahmenhaih tawn ai.
10The soul of the wicked desireth evil, he will not have pity on his neighbour.
11Kahoih ai kami danpaek naah, poek tawn ai kami to palungha lat; palungha kami thuitaek naah loe anih mah panoekhaih to hak.
11When a pestilent man is punished, the little one will be wiser: and if he follow the wise, he will receive knowledge.
12Katoeng kami loe kahoih ai kami ih im to palunghahaih hoiah khet; toe kahoih ai kami loe a sak ih sethaih pongah amrosak.
12The just considereth seriously the house of the wicked, that he may withdraw the wicked from evil.
13Amtang kami qah naah naa tamuep kami loe, a qah naah mi mah doeh tahngai pae mak ai.
13He that stoppeth his ear against the cry of the poor, shall also cry himself and shall not be heard.
14Tamquta hoi paek ih tangqum mah palungphuihaih dipsak; tamquta hoi paek ih bokhaih tangqum mah kanung parai palungphuihaih to dipsak.
14A secret present quencheth anger: and a gift in the bosom the greatest wrath.
15Kahoih kami loe katoeng hmuen sakhaih nuiah anghoehaih tawnh; toe sethaih sah kami hanah loe amrohaih ah oh.
15It is joy to the just to do judgment: and dread to them that work iniquity.
16Palunghahaih loklam hoi amkhraeng kami loe kadueh kaminawk salakah ni anghak tih.
16A man that shall wander out of the way of doctrine, shall abide in the company of the giants.
17Nawmhaih koeh kami loe amtang tih; mu hoi situi koeh kami doeh angraeng mak ai.
17He that loveth good cheer, shall be in want: he that loveth wine, and fat things, shall not be rich.
18Kahoih ai kami loe katoeng kami akranghaih ah oh moe, zaehaih sah kami loe katoeng kami hanah oh.
18The wicked is delivered up for the just: and the unjust for the righteous.
19Angzoeh koeh moe, poeksae zu hoi nawnto oh pongah loe, praezaek ah oh to hoih kue.
19It is better to dwell in a wilderness, than with a quarrelsome and passionate woman.
20Palungha im ah loe buh hoi situi amthlai pok ah oh; toe kamthu loe a tawnh ih hmuennawk to tahmat boih.
20There is a treasure to be desired, and oil in the dwelling of the just: and the foolish man shall spend it.
21Toenghaih hoi tahmenhaih pakrong kami loe hinghaih, toenghaih hoi ahmin pakoehhaih to hnuk.
21He that followeth justice and mercy, shall find life, justice, and glory.
22Palungha kami loe thacak kami ih vangpui to tuk moe, nihcae mah oep o ih sipae to phraek pae thaih.
22The wise man hath scaled the city of the strong, and hath cast down the strength of the confidence thereof.
23Pahni hoi palai cip kami loe raihaih thung hoi a hinghaih loih thai hanah angvaeng kami ah oh.
23He that keepeth his mouth and his tongue, keepeth his soul from distress.
24Amoek moe, palungphui thaih kami loe amoek kami, minawk pahnuithuih kami, tiah kawk o.
24The proud and the arrogant is called ignorant, who in anger worketh pride.
25Thasae kami loe bantha set pongah, vawthaih mah duehsak tih.
25Desires kill the slothful: for his hands have refused to work at all.
26To baktih kami loe ni thokkruek angaihaih pop aep aep; toe katoeng kami loe paawt ai ah paek.
26He longeth and desireth all the day: but he that is just, will give, and will not cease.
27Kahoih ai kami mah paek ih angbawnhaih hmuen loe panuet thoh; anih mah kasae poekhaih palungthin hoi hmuen to sin nahaeloe kawkruk maw panuet thok aep tih!
27The sacrifices of the wicked are abominable, because they are offered of wickedness.
28Amsoem ai hnukungah kaom kami loe amro tih; toe lok thaih tangtang kami loe katoeng ah lokthuih.
28A lying witness shall perish: an obedient man shall speak of victory.
29Kasae kami loe mikhmai pan thai ai; toe katoeng kami loe a caehhaih loklam to poek.
29The wicked man impudently hardeneth his face: but he that is righteous, correcteth his way.
30Angraeng ai ah loe palunghahaih, panoekhaih hoi sak atimhaih loe azom pui ni.
30There is no wisdom, there is no prudence, there is no counsel against the Lord.
31Misatuk hanah hrang to suek coek boeh; toe misa pazawkhaih loe Angraeng ih ni.
31The horse is prepared for the day of battle: but the Lord giveth safety.
