Asang Khongca Bible (Eastern Khumi Chin, 2019)
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1Palunghahaih mah kami to kawk ai maw? Panoekhaih mah doeh tha hoi lokthui ai maw?
1Doth not wisdom cry aloud, and prudence put forth her voice?
2Anih loe hmuensang hoi lamkrung taengah angdoet.
2Standing in the top of the highest places by the way, in the midst of the paths.
3Anih loe vangpui thung akunhaih khongkha taeng, thoknawk taengah angdoet moe, tha hoi a hangh.
3Beside the gates of the city, in the very doors she speaketh, saying:
4Aw kahing kaminawk, kang kawk o; kaminawk hanah lok ka thuih pae.
4O ye men, to you I call, and my voice is to the sons of men.
5Aw poekhaih tawn ai kami rumramnawk, palunghahaih to panoek oh; Aw amthu kaminawk, panoekhaih palungthin to tawn oh.
5O little ones, understand subtilty, and ye unwise, take notice.
6Tahngai oh, hmuen kahoih kang thuih o han; toenghaih lok to kang thuih o han.
6Hear, for I will speak of great things: and my lips shall be opened to preach right things.
7Ka pakha mah loktang lok to thui ueloe, ka pahni mah sethaih to panuet tih.
7My mouth shall meditate truth, and my lips shall hate wickedness.
8Ka pakha pong ih loknawk boih loe toeng, angkawnh moe, amsoem ai lok maeto doeh om ai.
8All my words are just, there is nothing wicked nor perverse in them.
9Thaikop kami hanah loe hmuennawk boih to zoi, palunghahaih pakrong kami han loe toenghaih ah oh.
9They are right to them that understand, and just to them that find knowledge.
10Sumkanglung pongah loe ka thuitaekhaih hae talawk ah loe, sui pongah loe palunghahaih to qoi ah.
10Receive my instruction, and not money: choose knowledge rather than gold.
11Atho kana thlung kathim pongah loe palunghahaih to hoih kue, to loe koeh ih hmuennawk boih hoiah patah thai ai.
11For wisdom is better than all the most precious things: and whatsoever may be desired cannot be compared to it.
12Ka palunghahaih loe acoehaih hoiah amraep pongah, palunghahaih hoi panoekhaih to ohsak.
12I wisdom dwell in counsel, and am present in learned thoughts.
13Kahoih ai hmuen zithaih loe, Angraeng zithaih ah oh; amoekhaih, poeksanghaih, sethaih loklam hoi lok kangkoiah thuihaih to ka hnukma.
13The fear of the Lord hateth evil: I hate arrogance, and pride, and every wicked way, and a mouth with a double tongue.
14Poek kahoih paekhaih hoi palunghahaih loe kai ih ni; kai loe panoekhaih hoi sakthaihaih tha to ka tawnh.
14Counsel and equity is mine, prudence is mine, strength is mine.
15Siangpahrangnawk loe kai rang hoiah ni angraeng tangkhang nuiah anghnut o moe, katoeng patukhaih to angraengnawk mah pazui o.
15By me kings reign, and lawgivers decree just things,
16Kai rang hoiah angraeng capanawk, angraengnawk hoi lokcaekkungnawk mah, long kaminawk to uk o.
16By me princes rule, and the mighty decree justice.
17Kai palung kaminawk to ka palung, palung tang hoi kai pakrong kaminawk mah loe kai to ang hnuk o.
17I love them that love me: and they that in the morning early watch for me, shall find me.
18Angraenghaih hoi pakoehhaih loe kai khaeah oh; ue, atue kasawkah kakaan angraenghaih hoi toenghaih doeh oh.
18With me are riches and glory, glorious riches and justice.
19Kai ih athaih loe sui pongah hoih kue; ue, kaciim suitui pongah doeh hoih kue; kai khae hoi hakih hmuen loe, qoih het ih sumkanglung pongah doeh hoih kue.
19For my fruit is better than gold and the precious stone, and my blossoms than choice silver.
20Kai loe toenghaih hoi katoeng lokcaekhaih loklam um li ah ka caeh pongah,
20I walk in the way of justice, in the midst of the paths of judgment,
21kai palung kaminawk khaeah qawktoephaih to ka paek, nihcae hmuen patunghaih ahmuen to ka koisak han.
21That I may enrich them that love me, and may fill their treasures.
22Kai loe canghnii ih hmuennawk sah ai nathuem, a tok sak amtong tangsuek na hoi boeh ni Angraeng ih hmuen ah ka oh.
22The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his ways, before he made any thing from the beginning.
23Kai loe long om ai vop, long oh amtong tangsuek nathuem hoiah dungzan ah ang caksak boeh.
23I was set up from eternity, and of old before the earth was made.
24Tuipuinawk om o ai vop, vapui tui doeh long ai naah, kai hae ang tapen boeh.
24The depths were not as yet, and I was already conceived. neither had the fountains of waters as yet sprung out:
25Maenawk om ai vop, maesomnawk doeh om ai naah, kai hae ang tapen boeh;
25The mountains with their huge bulk had not as yet been established: before the hills I was brought forth:
26long hoi tawnawk to sah ai vop, long nui ih maiphu doeh sah ai naah, kai hae ang tapen boeh.
26He had not yet made the earth, nor the rivers, nor the poles of the world.
27Vannawk to sak moe, tuipuinawk hmaa ah kaom hmuennawk to a sak nathuem,
27When he prepared the heavens, I was present: when with a certain law and compass he enclosed the depths:
28van ranui ih tamainawk to a sak moe, tuipui thung ih tuinawk to thacaksak nathuem;
28When he established the sky above, and poised the fountains of waters:
29a paek ih lok to tui mah poeng thai han ai ah, long angdoethaih ahmuen a sak naah kai ka oh boeh:
29When he compassed the sea with its bounds, and set a law to the waters that they should not pass their limits: when be balanced the foundations of the earth;
30to naah kai loe anih hoi nawnto qoeng tahang capa baktiah, anih taengah ka oh; ni thokkruek anih anghoehaih ah ka oh; a hmaa ah anghoehaih hoiah ka koi poe;
30I was with him forming all things: and was delighted every day, playing before him at all times;
31a sak ih long nuiah anghoehaih ka tawnh moe, kami capanawk nuiah doeh oephaih ka tawnh.
31Playing in the world: and my delights were to be with the children of men.
32To pongah Aw ka caanawk, ka lok hae tahngai oh; kai ih loklam pazui kaminawk loe tahamhoih o.
32Now therefore, ye children, hear me: Blessed are they that keep my ways.
33Kang thuitaekhaih lok to tahngai oh, pahnawt o hmah loe, palungha oh.
33Hear instruction and be wise, and refuse it not.
34Ka lok tahngaih moe, ni thokkruek kai ih khongkhanawk to toep pacoengah, kai ih thok tungnawk taengah zing kami loe, tahamhoih.
34Blessed is the man that heareth me, and that watcheth daily at my gates, and waiteth at the posts of my doors.
35Kai hnu kami loe hinghaih to hnuk; Angraeng anghoehaih to a hnuk.
35He that shall find me, shall find life, and shall have salvation from the Lord:
36Toe ka hmaa ah zaehaih sah kami loe, a hinghaih paro kami ah oh; kai hnuma kaminawk boih loe, duekhaih palung kami ah ni oh o.
36But he that shall sin against me, shall hurt his own soul. All that hate me love death.
