1Why have You rejected us forever, O God? Why does Your anger smolder against the sheep of Your pasture?
1Vyučující, Azafův. Proč, ó Bože, nás tak do konce zamítáš? Proč roznícena jest prchlivost tvá proti stádci pastvy tvé?
2Remember Your congregation, which You purchased long ago and redeemed as the tribe of Your inheritance— Mount Zion where You dwell.
2Rozpomeň se na shromáždění své, jehož jsi od starodávna dobyl a vykoupil, na proutek dědictví svého, na Sion horu tuto, na níž přebýváš.
3Turn Your steps to the everlasting ruins, to everything in the sanctuary the enemy has destroyed.
3Přispějž k hrozným pustinám. Jak všecko pohubil nepřítel v svatyni!
4Your foes have roared within Your meeting place; they have unfurled their banners as signs,
4Řvali nepřátelé tvoji u prostřed shromáždění tvých, a na znamení toho zanechali množství korouhví svých.
5like men wielding axes in a thicket of trees
5Za hrdinu jmín byl ten, kterýž co nejvýše zdvihl sekeru, roubaje vazbu dříví jeho.
6and smashing all the carvings with hatchets and picks.
6A nyní již řezby jeho napořád sekerami a palicemi otloukají.
7They have burned Your sanctuary to the ground; they have defiled the dwelling place of Your Name.
7Uvrhli oheň do svatyně tvé, na zem zřítivše, poškvrnili příbytku jména tvého.
8They said in their hearts, “We will crush them completely.” They burned down every place where God met us in the land.
8Řekli v srdci svém: Vyhubme je napořád. Takž vypálili všecky stánky Boha silného v zemi.
9There are no signs for us to see. There is no longer any prophet. And none of us knows how long this will last.
9Znamení svých nevidíme, jižť není proroka, aniž jest mezi námi, kdo by věděl, dokud to stane.
10How long, O God, will the enemy taunt You? Will the foe revile Your name forever?
10I dokudž, ó Bože, útržky činiti bude odpůrce? A nepřítel ustavičně-liž rouhati se bude jménu tvému?
11Why do You withdraw Your strong right hand? Stretch it out to destroy them!
11Proč zdržuješ ruku svou, a pravice své z lůna svého nevzneseš?
12Yet God is my King from ancient times, working salvation on the earth.
12Však jsi ty, Bože, král můj od starodávna, působíš hojné spasení u prostřed země.
13You divided the sea by Your strength; You smashed the heads of the dragons of the sea;
13Ty silou svou rozdělil jsi moře, a potřels hlavy draků u vodách.
14You crushed the heads of Leviathan; You fed him to the creatures of the desert.
14Ty jsi potřel hlavu Leviatanovi, dal jsi jej za pokrm lidu na poušti.
15You broke open the fountain and the flood; You dried up the ever-flowing rivers.
15Ty jsi otevřel vrchoviště a potoky, ty jsi osušil i řeky prudké.
16The day is Yours, and also the night; You established the moon and the sun.
16Tvůjť jest den, tvá jest také i noc, světlo i slunce ty jsi učinil.
17You set all the boundaries of the earth; You made the summer and winter.
17Ty jsi založil všecky končiny země, léto i zimy ty jsi sformoval.
18Remember how the enemy has mocked You, O LORD, how a foolish people has spurned Your name.
18Rozpomeniž se na to, že útržky činil ten odpůrce Hospodinu, a lid bláznivý jak se jménu tvému rouhal.
19Do not deliver the soul of Your dove to beasts; do not forget the lives of Your afflicted forever.
19Nevydávejž té zběři duše hrdličky své, na stádce chudých svých nezapomínej se na věky.
20Consider Your covenant, for haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land.
20Ohlédni se na smlouvu; nebo plní jsou i nejtmavější koutové země peleší ukrutnosti.
21Do not let the oppressed retreat in shame; may the poor and needy praise Your name.
21Nechažť bídní neodcházejí s hanbou, chudý a nuzný ať chválí jméno tvé.
22Rise up, O God; defend Your cause! Remember how the fool mocks You all day long.
22Povstaniž, ó Bože, a veď při svou, rozpomeň se na pohanění, kteréžť se děje od nesmyslných na každý den.
23Do not disregard the clamor of Your adversaries, the uproar of Your enemies that ascends continually.
23Nezapomínej se na vykřikování svých nepřátel, a na hluk proti tobě povstávajících, kterýž se silí ustavičně.
