Proverbs 19

Berean Standard Bible
Baibal Olcim (Matupi Chin)
1Better a poor man who walks with integrity than a fool whose lips are perverse.
1A hmuilai voeldak neh aka ang lakah amah kah thincaknah neh aka cet khodaeng he then ngai.
2Even zeal is no good without knowledge, and he who hurries his footsteps misses the mark.
2Mingnah aka om pawh hinglu khaw then pawh, kho neh aka tanolh long khaw a hmaang.
3A man’s own folly subverts his way, yet his heart rages against the LORD.
3Hlang kah a anglat loh amah kah longpuei te a paimaelh pah hatah a lungbuei tah BOEIPA taengah a hmaital.
4Wealth attracts many friends, but a poor man is deserted by his friend.
4Boeirhaeng tah paya khaw muep a thap pah dae, tattloel tah a baerhoep long pataeng te a nong tak.
5A false witness will not go unpunished, and one who utters lies will not escape.
5A honghi kah laipai te hmil pawt vetih, laithae aka sat long khaw poenghal mahpawh.
6Many seek the favor of the prince, and everyone is a friend of the gift giver.
6Hlangcong kah maelhmai tah muep a thae sak uh tih, hlang te hlang boeih loh kutdoe neh a paya nah uh.
7All the brothers of a poor man hate him— how much more do his friends avoid him! He may pursue them with pleading, but they are nowhere to be found.
7Manuca pataeng aka khodaeng te boeih a hmuhuet uh atah, a baerhoep aisat te a taeng lamloh a lakhla tak ta. A hloem bal akhaw amih te ol a om moenih.
8He who acquires wisdom loves himself; one who safeguards understanding will find success.
8A hinglu aka lungnah long tah a lungbuei ah a lai tih, lungcuei long tah hnothen dang hamla a ngaithuen.
9A false witness will not go unpunished, and one who pours out lies will perish.
9A honghi kah laipai te hmil pawt vetih, laithae aka sat khaw milh ni.
10Luxury is unseemly for a fool— how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!
10Omthenbawnnah he hlang ang ham a rhoeprhui moenih, sal loh mangpa a taemrhai te bahoeng voel moenih.
11A man’s insight gives him patience, and his virtue is to overlook an offense.
11Hlang kah a lungming loh a thintoek khaw a hlawt pah dongah, boekoek te a boei a mang neh a poe.
12A king’s rage is like the roar of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
12Manghai kah thinkoeh he sathueng bangla kawk dae, a kolonah he baelhing dongkah buemtui bangla om.
13A foolish son is his father’s ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping.
13Capa a anglat te a napa ham talnah la om tih, a yuu kah hohmuhnah khaw tuicip bangla puh.
14Houses and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.
14Im neh boeirhaeng he napa kah rho la om cakhaw, hlang aka cangbam yuu he tah BOEIPA taeng lamkah ni.
15Laziness brings on deep sleep, and an idle soul will suffer hunger.
15Ngaknah he ih dongah moo tih, palyal khaw hinglu lamlum.
16He who keeps a commandment preserves his soul, but he who is careless in his ways will die.
16Olpaek aka tuem loh a hinglu a ngaithuen tih, BOEIPA kah longpuei aka hnoel tah duek rhoe duek ni.
17Kindness to the poor is a loan to the LORD, and He will repay the lender.
17BOEIPA kah puhlah long tah tattloel te a rhen tih, a thaphu te amah taengla a thuung ni.
18Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be party to his death.
18Ngaiuepnah a om vaengah na ca te toel lah, anih duek sak ham tah na hinglu te thak boeh.
19A man of great anger must pay the penalty; if you rescue him, you will have to do so again.
19Kosi len kah hmulung te tholhphu la a phueih atah na huul cakhaw koep na koei hae ni.
20Listen to counsel and accept discipline, that you may be wise the rest of your days.
20cilsuep he hnatun lamtah thuituennah he doe lah. Te daengah ni na hmailong ah na cueih eh.
21Many plans are in a man’s heart, but the purpose of the LORD will prevail.
21Hlang kah lungbuei ah kopoek muep om cakhaw, BOEIPA kah cilsuep long ni a thoh sak.
22The desire of a man is loving devotion; better to be poor than a liar.
22Hlang kah ngaihlihnah tah amah kah sitlohnah he ni. Tedae khodaeng he hlang laithae lakah then ngai.
23The fear of the LORD leads to life, that one may rest content, without visitation from harm.
23BOEIPA hinyahnah he tah hingnah la om tih, ngaikhuek la a rhaeh sak coeng dongah yoethae loh cawh voel pawh.
24The slacker buries his hand in the dish; he will not even bring it back to his mouth.
24Kolhnaw long tah bael dongla a kut a puei nawn pataeng a ka khuila a khuen moenih.
25Strike a mocker, and the simple will beware; rebuke the discerning man, and he will gain knowledge.
25Hmuiyoi te na boh daengah ni hlangyoe bangla a muet uh eh. A yakming la na tluung daengah ni mingnah te a phatuem pueng eh.
26He who assaults his father or evicts his mother is a son who brings shame and disgrace.
26A napa aka rhoelrhak tih, a manu aka yong sak capa tah yah a poh tih, a khosak khaw tal.
27If you cease to hear instruction, my son, you will stray from the words of knowledge.
27Ka ca, mingnah olka lamloh palang ham a, thuituennah hnatun ham he na toeng.
28A corrupt witness mocks justice, and a wicked mouth swallows iniquity.
28Hlang muen kah laipai loh tiktamnah te a hnael tih, halang kah a ka loh boethae a dolh.
29Judgments are prepared for mockers, and beatings for the backs of fools.
29Hmuiyoi rhoek ham tholhphu neh anglat kah a nam ham bohnah a tawn uh coeng.
