1“Say of your brothers, ‘My people,’ and of your sisters, ‘My loved one.’
1Говоріть братам вашим: Мій народе, а сестрам вашим: Помилувана.
2Rebuke your mother, rebuke her, for she is not My wife, and I am not her husband. Let her remove the adultery from her face and the unfaithfulness from between her breasts.
2Позивайтесь із матїррю вашою, позивайтесь; бо вона не жена менї, я їй не муж; нехай вона віддалить блуд від лиця свого, й перелюбство від грудей своїх,
3Otherwise, I will strip her naked and expose her like the day of her birth. I will make her like a desert and turn her into a parched land, and I will let her die of thirst.
3Щоб її не роздяг я до нага, й не зробив такою, як була в день уродин своїх; щоб не вчинив її пустинею, не обернув у землю суху та не заморив спрагою.
4I will have no compassion on her children, because they are the children of adultery.
4І дїтей її я не помилую, бо вони дїти блудницькі.
5For their mother has played the harlot and has conceived them in disgrace. For she thought, ‘I will go after my lovers, who give me bread and water, wool and linen, oil and drink.’
5Бо мати їх блудувала, соромом окривала себе та, що їх почала; бо казала: Пійду за полюбовниками моїми; вони ж дають менї хлїб і воду й вовну й лен, оливу й напій.
6Therefore, behold, I will hedge up her path with thorns; I will enclose her with a wall, so she cannot find her way.
6Тим же то їй терниною стежку закидаю, — плотом загороджу, й не знайде вона стежок своїх.
7She will pursue her lovers but not catch them; she will seek them but not find them. Then she will say, ‘I will return to my first husband, for then I was better off than now.’
7Пожене слїдом за полюбовниками своїми, та їх не здогонить і буде їх шукати, але їх не знайде; а тодї скаже: Пійду, вернуся до мого першого мужа; тодї бо лучше було менї, нїж тепер.
8For she does not acknowledge that it was I who gave her grain, new wine, and oil, who lavished on her silver and gold— which they crafted for Baal.
8Так, вона не знала, що се я, — я давав їй і хлїб і вино й олїю; що вистачав їй срібло й золото, з чого вони робили собі Баала.
9Therefore I will take back My grain in its time and My new wine in its season; I will take away My wool and linen, which were given to cover her nakedness.
9За те ж я возьму назад хлїб мій в його часї, і вино в його порі; відберу вовну й лен мій, чим вона свою наготу прикриває.
10And then I will expose her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and no one will deliver her out of My hands.
10А так відкрию сором її перед очима полюбовників її, і нїхто не вирве її із руки в мене.
11I will put an end to all her exultation: her feasts, New Moons, and Sabbaths— all her appointed feasts.
11Її втїхам кінець положу, й сьвятам її й новим місяцям її й суботам її та й усїм сьвяточним часам її.
12I will destroy her vines and fig trees, which she thinks are the wages paid by her lovers. So I will make them into a thicket, and the beasts of the field will devour them.
12І попустошу в неї сади виноградні й фиґовину, що про них вона мовляла: се в мене подарунки, що полюбовники мої менї дарували; все те оберну я в лїс; польові зьвіри живитись муть ними.
13I will punish her for the days of the Baals when she burned incense to them, when she decked herself with rings and jewelry, and went after her lovers. But Me she forgot,” declares the LORD.
13Я скараю її за ввесь час, що вона Баалам служила, їм кадило палила, а нарядившись в намисти та ланцюжки, за полюбовниками своїми ходила, про мене ж забула, говорить Господь.
14“Therefore, behold, I will allure her and lead her to the wilderness, and speak to her tenderly.
14Та ось, і я заманю її в пустиню до себе, й буду їй до серця промовляти.
15There I will give back her vineyards and make the Valley of Achor into a gateway of hope. There she will respond as she did in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt.
15І верну їй звідти виноградники її, й долина Ахор (сумна) буде їй дверима до надїї, і сьпівати ме знов, як у своїх молодощах, як тодї, коли виходила з землї Египецької.
16In that day,” declares the LORD, “you will call Me ‘my Husband,’ and no longer call Me ‘my Master.’
16І буде так із того часу, говорить Господь, що мене ти звати меш „чоловіче мій,‟ а не звати меш „Баале‟ (пане мій).
17For I will remove from her lips the names of the Baals; no longer will their names be invoked.
17І викину з уст її імена Баалів, та й не буде вже більше згадувати назви їх.
18On that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the creatures that crawl on the ground. And I will abolish bow and sword and weapons of war in the land, and will make them lie down in safety.
18І вчиню тодї вмову задля них із зьвірми польовими, з птаством під небом і всїм тим, що човгає по землї; й закину луки та мечі й війну з землї, й дам їм жити безпечно.
19So I will betroth you to Me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in loving devotion and compassion.
19Я одружу тебе зо мною на віки, одружу тебе в справедливостї й судї, в ласкавостї й милосердю,
20And I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will know the LORD.”
20Одружу тебе зо мною в вірностї, й спізнаєш, що я — Господь.
21“On that day I will respond—” declares the LORD— “I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth.
21І буде того часу: я вислухаю, говорить Господь, вислухаю небо, а воно вислухає землю,
22And the earth will respond to the grain, to the new wine and oil, and they will respond to Jezreel.
22Земля ж вислухає збіжє, вино й оливу; а сї вислухають Езрееля.
23And I will sow her as My own in the land, and I will have compassion on ‘No Compassion.’ I will say to those called ‘Not My People,’ ‘You are My people,’ and they will say, ‘You are my God.’”
23І я посїю його на землї про себе, й помилую Непомилувану, й скажу Немій-людові: Ти — мій люд, а він скаже: Ти — мій Бог!
