1Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you.
1Павел, та Сильван, та Тимотей до церков Солунських у Бозї Отцї і Господї Ісусї Христї: Благодать вам і мир од Бога Отця і Господа Ісуса Христа.
2We always thank God for all of you, remembering you in our prayers
2Дякуємо Богові всякого часу за всїх вас, роблячи спомин про вас у молитвах наших,
3and continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
3без перестану згадуючи ваше дїло віри, і працю любови, і терпіннє уповання на Господа нашого Ісуса Христа перед Богом і Отцем нашим,
4Brothers who are beloved by God, we know that He has chosen you,
4знаючи, браттє Богові любе, вибраннє ваше.
5because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with great conviction—just as you know we lived among you for your sake.
5Бо благовістє наше не було до вас у слові тілько, а і в силї, і в Дусї сьвятому, і в великій певнотї, яко ж і знаєте, які ми були між вами задля вас.
6And you became imitators of us and of the Lord when you welcomed the message with the joy of the Holy Spirit, in spite of your great suffering.
6І ви стали послїдувателями нашими і Господнїми, прийнявши слово в великому горю з радощами Духа сьвятого,
7As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.
7так що ви стали ся взором усїм віруючим у Македониї і Ахаї.
8For not only did the message of the Lord ring out from you to Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone out to every place, so that we have no need to say anything more.
8Од вас бо промчало ся слово Господнє не тілько в Македониї і Ахаї, та й у всяке місце віра ваша в Бога пройшла, так що не треба нам що й казати.
9For they themselves report what kind of welcome you gave us, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God
9Вони бо самі про нас звіщають, який вхід мали ми до вас і як ви обернулись до Бога од ідолів, служити Богу живому і правдивому,
10and to await His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath.
10і ждати Сина Його з небес, котрого воскресив з мертвих, Ісуса, збавляючого нас від наступаючого гнїва.
