1ای کاهنان این را بشنوید و‌ای خاندان اسرائیل اصغا نمایید و‌ای خاندان پادشاهان گوش گیرید، زیرا که این فتوی برای شماست چونکه شما در مصفه دام شدید و توری گسترده شده، بر تابور.
1Hear ye this, O priests, and hearken, O ye house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king: for there is a judgment against you, because you have been a snare to them whom you should have watched over, and a net spread upon Thabor.
2عاصیان در کشتار مبالغه نموده‌اند؛ پس من همگی ایشان را تادیب خواهم نمود.
2And you have turned aside victims into the depth: and I am, the teacher of them all.
3من افرایم را می‌شناسم و اسرائیل از من مخفی نیست زیرا که حال، تو‌ای افرایم مرتکب زنا شده‌ای و اسرائیل خویشتن را نجس ساخته است.
3I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now Ephraim hath committed fornication, Israel is defiled.
4کارهای ایشان مانع می‌شود که بسوی خدا بازگشت نمایند چونکه روح زناکاری درقلب ایشان است و خداوند را نمی شناسند.
4They will not set their thoughts to return to their God: for the spirit of fornication is in the midst of them, and they have not known the Lord.
5وفخر اسرائیل پیش روی ایشان شهادت می‌دهد. اسرائیل و افرایم در گناه خود می‌لغزند و یهودانیز همراه ایشان خواهد لغزید.
5And the pride of Israel shall answer in his face: and Israel and Ephraim shall fall in their iniquity, Juda also shall fall with them.
6گوسفندان وگاوان خود را می‌آورند تا خداوند را بطلبند، اما اورا نخواهند یافت چونکه خود را از ایشان دورساخته است.
6With their flocks, and with their herds, they shall go to seek the Lord, and shall not find him: he is withdrawn from them.
7به خداوند خیانت ورزیده‌اند زیرافرزندان اجنبی تولید نموده‌اند. الان هلالها ایشان را با ملکهای ایشان خواهد بلعید.
7They have transgressed against the Lord, for they have begotten children that are strangers: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
8در جبعه کرنا و در رامه سرنا بنوازید و دربیت آون صدا بزنید در عقب تو‌ای بنیامین.
8Blow ye the cornet in Gabaa, the trumpet in Rama: howl ye in Bethaven, behind thy back, O Benjamin.
9افرایم در روز عتاب خراب خواهد شد. در میان اسباط اسرائیل به یقین اعلام نمودم.
9Ephraim shall be in desolation in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel I have shewn that which shall surely be.
10سروران اسرائیل مثل نقل کنندگان حدود می‌باشند. پس خشم خویش را مثل آب بر ایشان خواهم ریخت.
10The princes of Juda are become as they that take up the bound: I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
11افرایم مقهور شده و در داوری کوفته گردیده است زیرا که به پیروی تقالید خرسندمی باشد.
11Ephraim is under oppression, and broken in judgment: because he began to go after filthiness.
12بنابراین من برای افرایم مثل بیدشده‌ام و برای خاندان یهودا مانند پوسیدگی.
12And I will be like a moth to Ephraim: and like rottenness to the house of Juda.
13چون افرایم بیماری خود را و یهودا جراحت خویش را دیدند، افرایم به آشور رفته و نزدپادشاهی که دشمن بود فرستاده است اما او شمارا شفا نمی تواند داد و جراحت شما را التیام نتواند نمود.
13And Ephraim saw his sickness, and Juda his band: and Ephraim went to the Assyrian, and sent to the avenging king: and he shall not be able to heal you, neither shall he be able to take off the band from you.
14و من برای افرایم مثل شیر و برای خاندان یهودا مانند شیر ژیان خواهم بود. من خودم خواهم درید و رفته خواهم ربود ورهاننده‌ای نخواهد بود.
14For I will be like a lioness to Ephraim, and like a lion’s whelp to the house of Juda: I, I will catch, and go: I will take away, and there is none that can rescue.
15من روانه شده، به مکان خود خواهم برگشت تا ایشان به عصیان خوداعتراف نموده، روی مرا بطلبند. در تنگی خودصبح زود مرا خواهند طلبید.
15I will go and return to my place: until you are consumed, and seek my face.
