1“Fanongo eni, ʻae kau taulaʻeiki; pea fakafanongo, ʻe fale ʻo ʻIsileli; pea tokanga mai ho telinga, ʻe fale ʻoe tuʻi; he ʻoku fai kiate kimoutolu ʻae fakamaau, koeʻuhi ko e tauhele ʻakimoutolu ki Misipa, pea ko e kupenga naʻe fola ʻi Tepea.
1Hear ye this, O priests, and hearken, O ye house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king: for there is a judgment against you, because you have been a snare to them whom you should have watched over, and a net spread upon Thabor.
2Pea ko e kau angatuʻu ʻoku loto ke fai ʻae fakapō, neongo ko au naʻaku valokiʻi ʻakinautolu kotoa pē.
2And you have turned aside victims into the depth: and I am, the teacher of them all.
3ʻOku ou ʻilo ʻa ʻIfalemi, pea ʻoku ʻikai puli ʻa ʻIsileli meiate au: he ko eni, ʻe ʻIfalemi, ʻoku ke fai feʻauaki, pea kuo ʻuliʻi ʻa ʻIsileli.
3I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now Ephraim hath committed fornication, Israel is defiled.
4ʻE ʻikai te nau ngaohi ʻenau anga ke liliu ki honau ʻOtua: he ko e laumālie ʻoe feʻauaki ʻoku ʻi loto ʻiate kinautolu, pea ʻoku ʻikai te nau ʻilo ʻa Sihova.
4They will not set their thoughts to return to their God: for the spirit of fornication is in the midst of them, and they have not known the Lord.
5Pea ko e fielahi ʻa ʻIsileli ʻe fakatōhifo ai hono mata: ko ia ʻe tō ki lalo ʻa ʻIsileli, mo ʻIfalemi ʻi heʻenau angahala; ʻe tō foki ʻa Siuta mo kinautolu.
5And the pride of Israel shall answer in his face: and Israel and Ephraim shall fall in their iniquity, Juda also shall fall with them.
6Te nau ʻalu mo ʻenau fanga sipi mo ʻenau fanga manu ke kumi ʻa Sihova; ka ʻe ʻikai te nau ʻilo ia; kuo ne mahuʻi meiate kinautolu.
6With their flocks, and with their herds, they shall go to seek the Lord, and shall not find him: he is withdrawn from them.
7Kuo nau fai kākā kia Sihova: he kuo nau fakatupu ʻae fānau kehe: ko eni, ko e māhina pe taha, pea ʻe folo ʻakinautolu mo honau ngaahi tofiʻa.
7They have transgressed against the Lord, for they have begotten children that are strangers: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
8“Ifi ʻae meʻa ifi ʻi Kipea, pea mo e meʻalea ʻi Lama: kalanga lahi ki Peteaveni, sio ki mui koe, ʻe Penisimani.
8Blow ye the cornet in Gabaa, the trumpet in Rama: howl ye in Bethaven, behind thy back, O Benjamin.
9ʻE lala ʻa ʻIfalemi ʻi he ʻaho ʻoe valoki ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi faʻahinga ʻo ʻIsileli, kuo u fakahā ʻaia ʻe hoko moʻoni.
9Ephraim shall be in desolation in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel I have shewn that which shall surely be.
10Ko e houʻeiki ʻo Siuta naʻe hangē ko kinautolu ʻoku hiki ʻae fakaʻilonga: ko ia te u lilingi hoku houhau kiate kinautolu, ʻo hangē ko e vai.
10The princes of Juda are become as they that take up the bound: I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
11“Kuo fakamālohi mo fesiʻi ʻa ʻIfalemi ʻi he fakamaau, koeʻuhi naʻa ne loto ke muimui ki he vaʻinga.
11Ephraim is under oppression, and broken in judgment: because he began to go after filthiness.
12Ko ia te u hangē ko e ane kia ʻIfalemi, pea hangē ko e popo ki he fale ʻo Siuta.
12And I will be like a moth to Ephraim: and like rottenness to the house of Juda.
13“ʻI he mamata ʻe ʻIfalemi ki hono mahaki, pea mo Siuta ki hono lavea, naʻa ne toki ʻalu ʻa ʻIfalemi ki he ʻAsilia, pea ne fekau ki he tuʻi ko Salepi: ka naʻe ʻikai te ne faʻa fakamoʻui koe, ke moʻui ai ho lavea.
13And Ephraim saw his sickness, and Juda his band: and Ephraim went to the Assyrian, and sent to the avenging king: and he shall not be able to heal you, neither shall he be able to take off the band from you.
14He te u hangē ko e laione ki ʻIfalemi, pea hangē ko e laione mui ki he fale ʻo Siuta: Ko au, ʻio, ko au, te u haeʻi, pea toe ʻalu; te u ʻave pea ʻe ʻikai ha tokotaha te ne fakahaofi.
14For I will be like a lioness to Ephraim, and like a lion’s whelp to the house of Juda: I, I will catch, and go: I will take away, and there is none that can rescue.
15“Te u tafoki ʻo ʻalu ki hoku potu, kaeʻoua ke nau vete ʻenau hia, pea kumi ki hoku fofonga: ʻi heʻenau ngaahi mamahi, te nau kumi fakavave kiate au.”
15I will go and return to my place: until you are consumed, and seek my face.
